All these years later and still the most iconic composition for me as a lifelong gamer. Played my first Final Fantasy at age 10 in 1994. Nobuo Uematsu truly is a legendary icon that should be honored and remembered forever. I believe the lifestream will carry this music through the ages in the hearts of Final Fantasy gamers for many generations as it already does today. 🙏🏻
I love this theme. I find it impressive how a song from the NES era still remains beloved and well known after all this time, especially when it remains relatively unchanged.
Nobuo is so freaking boss, he doesn't need a tux to look professional when conducting a concert, he can just wear casual and still blow everyone's mind!
this is one of the few videos that people are not talking about which Final Fantasy is your favorite, we are all here because we love final fantasy as a hole
Just here to remind everyone that Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn is indisputably the biggest Final Fantasy game in the franchise. I could not be happier to be a part of it. Not only did it go from being a near disaster to the top dog of the franchise, it also survived long enough to become the largest MMO, and also a second home to many players across the world.
And so the journey began... A line of successful and memorable games soon were released. Yet Square only knew half of what was ahead. Their first game soon became a success, and was released to the U.S. Then they made more games, each one better than the last. However, all journeys must come to an end. This journey, however, will last for an eternity.
the funny thing is that they called it Final Fantasy, because back then it was the company's last shot at making a successful videogame, thank god they succeeded.
Thinking FF was Square's first game, lol. Wonder why it is called Final Fantasy? Because Square was getting backrupt and had one last change to do it right, a Final Fantasy. And yeah, they went bankrupt because they made all those shit games in the past.
When I hear this music, I feel like just returning from a great war and gaining honor. I also do not realize that tears began to drop. Such a fantastic theme. Anyway, this version is the one in Final Fantasy VIII.
+Azure Knight I agree. My Art in Society class ended with contemporary composers including Hans Zimmer and John Williams, but this guy deserves recognition as a master of the craft.
+Nicholas Heebsh I shared his music in my college level music lit class. Professor was shocked he never heard of this guy. Lol turned someone on to a new composer always makes me happy
ork476 Yeah I had done that as well, then the teacher started buying the soundtracks, and asking about Final Fantasy.. Then I end up playing XI with him, now XIV lol.
I've now been playing FF games for 26 years, long before some of you were even born. This song brings an indescribable feeling to me. I've beaten so many of them, and went on so many journeys. It all started with four warriors, each holding an orb...
Practically ended with that for me. Only FF games I've played are 1, 2/4, some of 3/6, Tactics, 7, and 8. And my faves are always 1 and 2/4. Thank you Nintendo Power for realizing there's be many crying 10 year olds who didn't know WTF to do in chunks of the game, and the internet and GameFAQS didn't exist yet.
+Jon Ericson lol man you took the words out my mouth...1, and what used to be two and three in the us, then 7 and a bit of 8. but yea I had Nintendo power starting with issue 1...good times back then
its crazy how every single song ever created for a final fantasy game uses this song as the basis for which it is built off of. out of the 1000s of songs made this is where it all began.
No, this isn't an Ending song, it's the MAIN THEME of the whole series. Besides, it's played right after the prologue part in FF1, FF3 and FF4, so it should almost be considered an Opening Theme.
to be completely honest I've only played international versions of the games and they do not have them as for NTSC and PAL regions I'm not sure. you maybe correct
A Dalmascan street urchin named Vaan looks to the heavens and dreams of leaving his fallen homeland to live the life of a sky pirate, free to go where he will. He is about to learn that the freedom he craves is not easily won, and that to realise his dreams, he must first realise the dreams of a nation. Final Fucking Fantasy, ladies and gentleman.
this is a whole experience, not just a mere game. its story, its game play, its music, its graphic. nothing can ever be as good as FF games from I up till FFXI! (until wada came and ruined everything)
