Final Fantasy Tactics Is Pure Art (Review) - Pragmatik 

Oh man... I remember that one all-chocobo fight which wiped me multiple times as a kid. Those chocobos are no joke! FFT is definitely my favorite Final Fantasy game ever (with 9 and 6 not too far behind). I loved watching your videos about it this month! Cool shirt, btw!

Great review man and one I absolutely agree with from top to bottom! I think what truly makes a good game great and timeless is not just a strong foundation, but the immense attention to even the tiniest details. It’s the reason why Castlevania:SOTN, FF Tactics, Chrono Trigger and Smash Bros. Melee are all at the very top of my all-time favorites games list. They not only are just mechanically amazing, their attention to detail are all second to none. Great work again on this and thanks for putting together the video!

Not gunna lie I cheat at those propositions to where I only do the ones where a town is right next to the place where I took the job so I can just go back and forth, later on in the game when I get more people on my team and I have back up units then I start traveling a bit further. And im glad some else is FINALLY talking about the saving and how it locks you in to those battles that go back to back. Happened to me years ago playing it as a kid when it first came out, luckily I did win but it was only by sheer luck when it happened with Wiegraf. Ive also praised this game heavily on its battle system and the grinding. Some games, like the VERY early pokemon games, grinding gets tiredsome after awhile because it doesnt feel balanced. But here, in this game, grinding works well and I think for me personally, it helps that I name myself Ramza and I go to the solider office to get more characters and name them after my friends. I dunno its kinda nostaglic and brings me back to my childhood when my friends and I would play in the woods and choose to be warriors or fighters or wizards gathering sticks or using plastic swords we would buy from KB Toys or something, it really helps move the game along for me personally. But I as well did not care for how badly they treated special characters in this game where they just become voiceless characters except for during certain events. TG Cid was a pretty big character and....well, once we got him that was it, same with Izlude's sister too. Kinda a bummer if you ask me. But I always loved this game and for me personally, its my favorite FF game of all time. I think for the small things it does wrong, the right things that exist within it do it so well that the flaws can be overlooked. Awesome job on the review my dood. People need to understand and play this game more.

Have you given the new Tactics Ogre: Reborn a go? The old Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together and Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions had always been neck-and-neck for me, but the new remake has pushed it ahead to my #1 slot. It's also wonderful to hear some the music remastered. While FFT only borrowed a couple of songs from TO, hearing a modern version warms my heart. I also feel like the shared DNA is more prominent. Lady Agrias from FFT was made from a character who was cut from TO, Dame Raveness. But with the remake, Dame Raveness is back in the game, and it's interesting to compare/contrast her to her FFT counterpart. I also feel like I can see from what's extra strong in TO why something feels underpowered in FFT. (Archers, Rafa, and Malak in particular.) It's not the same game, and they're different enough that I think it's entirely popular to like one and not the other. But I think there's a reason TO and FFT are always listed as the crown jewels of the genre. Also, have you tried out Fell Seal? While Triangle Strategy felt lackluster to me compared to FFT or TO, Fell Seal took FFT's class system and almost perfected it. The interplay between the different passive and active skills leads to some really fun combinations. The art style seems to be love-or-hate, but even though I started in the hate camp, it had grown on me after an hour. The dialogue and plot are better than Triangle Strategy but sadly nowhere near FFT/TO quality. It's usually like $15 with the DLC, which modifies the base game to add a couple more classes and monsters, and it makes monsters tameable (and gives them their own classes). It also adds in extra optional challenges that award... not upgrades, really, but items with a weird quirk to them that's not power.

This game was and still is a Masterpiece. While I dont really consider the other FFT games to be as good I hope you will review them at some point.
