What I love about Aerith and Cloud's relationship is that there's an emotional connection there and it's pure. They truly care about each other. How Aerith can poke through his tough exterior is what is heartwarming, and it starts in Remake. She understands his pain, suffering, and through their sorrows in life they do bond. It's heartbreaking but also very touching.
I agree. I don't really ship Cloud and Aerith romantically (Well, maybe a little bit. I just lean more toward Zerith and Cloti;), but it's clear the two of them have a very deep, spiritual bond with one another that, in my opinion, doesn't need to be "romantic" to make it legitimate.
@@jeedada8334 That's not true..she decided to be with Cloud...instead, she allready accepted his Fate AND she knows that in every verse she had to give his life for the world 🥺 even in rebirth my baby girl Is not having the person who she loves . PD. I have a Guess ...why did you called Zack like Jack? 🤔
Is it just me or did anybody else notice Aerith’s smile after Cloud said “next time”. I think she got the answer she was looking for, Cloud did like her back. Then she says “At least I know now where you and I stand” is like her way of acknowledging it.
in the japanese dialogue cloud says instead of our spot,it was easy, he says "the place i have memories,it was easy". "i dont have many memories," then aerith interject by saying," then make one from here" he replies" that is what i meant".its when aerith realize he likes her. "cloud its nice to hear your feelings"
I think so too! This is beautiful. It was heartbreaking to see her pushed him away while Sephiroth walked up behind her. I was surprised that the ending itself is not as sad as I thought it would be. It feels more hopeful.
I agree , maybe because her death scene is not the highlight of the rebirth anymore, its more focuses into CxA connection now and how it drives Cloud to insanity due he lost his beloved soul mate.
I do believe Cloud loves her deeply inside his heart, what a wonderful character that I truely admire and love. When Arieth says,"Follow your heart."All I wanna say is"Thank you,Arieth...for everything.❤"

@sharynmorgan944 idk if you're saying she didn't love him, but if you are, she wrote a whole love song for the man and marlene confirmed she has feelings for him and zack even accepted it.
@@sharynmorgan944I can tell you , Zack asked if she likes / loves Cloud (in romantic way) , she said " yes, she does . Then Zack said standart Japanese teasing phrase. And Marlene repeated it for Zack. "Because you weren't there, she didn't say. And Zack didn't say, "Cant say I saw that coming."One funny fact in Japanese when Zack meets Cloud in the finale, he says he's happy to see him, but he hates him a little) Although he said in a teasing and cheerful voice marlene also says, aerith is happy her beloved cloud came, really happy. so yeah. she LOVES him. and she says in the dream, dont fall in love with me, so he is in love with her
@@bladerjso in the church, Aerith says "Cloud? Thank you" and he gasps. Obviously his reaction in English was a it weird for a "thank you" Can you give the best description of what she actually said? Because it's things like this, where the English is watered down that has people confused on what the characters intentions are.
@@DarthPingu07she says thank you in japanese, but the diference is context,in japanese culture they are not used to say things like i love you,and when a love partner says thank you it has deeper meaning then i love you "In Japan it is common knowledge that "Thank you" [ ありがとう] has more meaning than "I love you" [ 愛してる]. This is why Japanese people tend to say thank you and/or use attitudes to express their love rather than actually saying it"
0:30 Cloud has different dialogue here-I think it might depend on your affinity with Aerith prior to the date. Instead of Cloud saying, "I mean, why not?", he affirms he wants another date with Aerith, saying "Yeah, next time." Faz Faz (youtube channel), has the video with the alternate dialogue.
damn, this is deep. or am i thinking too much in to it. what does cloud mean "our spot"? and what does he mean by saying "next time". and aerith reassuring "oh, next time". i remember in remake " cloud said, " i saved her , she saved me. round and round it goes"..i forgot but i feel like they both have a deep soulful connections.
I think "Our spot" is a reference to NPTK lyrics when it says "Our place" (Aerith wrote the lyrics of the song), and "next time", could mean another date

Hahaha right? No shade towards Tifa, she's an awesome character, but these two are just perfect together. I love their banter, sweet moments, everything.
@@jeremyfields9009 lol tell me you never played the OG game without telling me. Even in the 1st FF7 Remake, Aerith is canonically shipping and pushing them both - playfully because she got this flirty personality from Zack, even that part where she asked "A date" as a payment. Yes, Aerith can't still move on from Zack. her first love. Tifa is the "original/real" Cloud's first love, his main reason for trying to become a soldier and a stronger person. I say original Cloud because the current Cloud we have is having a mistaken identity of sorts with Zack's memories due to his insecurities, even Aerith says it in their saucer date [OG and Rebirth] how they are "both so similar", because that is not the real Cloud. And yes Tifa and Cloud had an intimate moment in the original before the final fight, so I dunno what you're saying about the narrative wise... maybe it's Aerith's saucer date that's not even canon...
Even in the original Tifa is a third wheel to Aerith. You're talking about under the highwind? Yeah that was optional too and that one happened after Aerith was out of the picture. Then in AC we see Cloud still not able to move on and moves into the church. How are people still denying whats in front of them? I get people have ships but this is silly. @@aileene-ez9gx
@@user-rc1ok6cn2byour deluded if you think it’s just friendship. 😂 another typical Tifa Stan. Ignoring what’s infront of their eyes and trying to make excuses for it. 😂
Alternate Aerith gave "main timeline" Cloud the fully powered holy materia before her death. She's so clever. She's using another timeline to do this. That's why Sephiroth is pursuing her CONSTANTLY.
Those first Aerith and Sephirot are the OGs, the ones who rest on the livestream and are fighting for that Cloud variant who seems rest in the key reality.
There’s another version of this scene where instead of him saying “why not” and Aerith kinda regretfully saying “yeah…why not” he instead confirms “yeah. Next time” and she gets excited. I think it has to do with whether your affinity is highest with Aerith or not or maybe what choices you make on their date. Makes me wonder what other scenes are different based on affinity.
From what I understand, there have always been multiple worlds/consciousness generated in the planet's Lifestream that eventually converges into a singular reality. Sephiroth, whom after the events of Remake, gains controls of Dark Whispers, is trying to manipulate multiple worlds so that the eventual convergance (homecoming) would turn out in accordance to his desired one. Aerith, whom now is aware and also gains control of Light Whispers, is doing what she can across multiple worlds to undo his actions, so that the eventual outcome returns to that of the OG's flow. For some reason, she has also accepted her eventual demise and role in the OG story, for the greater good of the world I guess. The end scene, where Cloud has both Holy and Black materias on his person. We won't know who holds the triumph card until part 3 comes out.
Even though I will forever be “Team Cloti” (Cloud & Tifa). It took me getting older to truly appreciate Aerith. I now understand Cloud’s position; having 2 amazing women at your side, and loving them both. Aerith did the same thing Ifalna did to her before her death, she gave Cloud the Holy Materia.
Some people say the ending didn't hit as well, I mean come on this and the final goodbye as if those 2 werent giant stab wounds where square put the knife in and then rotated it. That being said them keeping the burial out might be part of the plan, the massive good ending plan both nomura and kitase keep talking about where they are like "we want the finale to be one where everyone is happy." Now I have heard that internally some devs are against it cause ff7 is all about loss but if the director of square enix says remake trilogy ends with a happily ever after can't rly do anything against it can you ?
I'm convinced that the Aerith we saw in the cathedral was the OG If that's something that should already have been obvious, please don't hate. I haven't had the chance to play myself yet
Anyone else sing along with skate the greats cover? "Because I love you. Because I need you. You close your eyes now, and I will be gone. Though my love for you, will go on."
Aerith: "It's not that I don't "like" you... I just met someone else..." Cloud: "Seriously? After all the nonsense that's been going on. I bet I can guess who..." *door opens* Sepi: "Honey. I'm home. Now get on your knees." Cloud: "Wow. This is awkward... I'm just gonna leave..." Aerith: "He wasn't talking to me..." Cloud: "Oh hell nah!"
Clerith is canon again: Aerith plays Rosa in 4 of the 6 dates & is Rosa in the credits & makes the most sense narratively & Aerith’s date has been default & canon since 1997
Not necessarily, in the trailer it was mentioned , that your relationship with Cloud will determine Aerith's fate, or something like that, and there is another Aerith and Cloud as well.
The first aerith is AU aerith. She knows her time and world is up, so has no reason to keep her white materia, gives it to cloud for him to bring back to OG aerith since her materia was depleted by the arbiters in remake.
Does anyone have any idea what cloud is seeing when he faints. It looks like her seeing alternate realities from the perspective of that universes cloud. Or is it him seeing past events?
@@spoonofsugar1431 The existence of multiverses and alternate realities are indeed proven, but tell that to all the obsessive naysayers who kept loudly harping against it for over 3 years.
It's not a timeline, it's not a multiverse,. It's a dream/mind world (similar to Dream Zanarkand) within the lifestream, connected between Cloud and Aerith subconsciously, it's pretty much confirmed in this scene. In a normal world Aerith can't push someone through the floor. Aerith even says its her dream.
@lortz6436 It's literally explained that alternate worlds are created every time fate is altered. Aerith's scenes with Cloud are different, because she can literally enter his subconsciousness and communicate with him through dreams.
So all three aerith’s are dead? The first one where Zack dies with meteor, second one that gave cloud the white materia at the church, and the third one that sephiroth stabbed? 😓 cloud traveled from the church to the forest throu a wormhole?
Aerith in Zack's world is still alive but on the bed. She was killed in the OG timeline and Rebirth timeline. Cloud is in a dream and then he heard her voice in the forest
Aerith 💔. Don't you guys tired of this shipping war between clerith and cloti. like for the entire games, we can't change the fact that Cloud have deep relationship for both with Aerith and Tifa, the fact that they showed Cloud and Aerith have a special feeling for each other, but also the fact that Aerith died and Cloud "might" ended up with Tifa later. They deserves a good ending tho, and Tifa and Aerith also have a special bond they like a sister and very supportive, just don't make any war between them and enjoy the story. I wish Aerith will still alive on this remake, but if she's not, i hope Cloud and Tifa could be together and have a happy ending, i mean they deserve it, and Aerith will still be happy for them🥺
-> A question for everyone: What kind of feeling unites Cloud and Aerith ? friendship ? love ? something that transcends love ? I'm asking because it's perhaps one of the most fascinating relationships I've seen in video games
I don`t know. But I think that sephiroth didn`t kill aerith in the church(he doesn`t have his blade). Of course if he doesn`t to kill her brutally with bare hands. May be he is going to lock her somewhere, so she can`t interact with the others?
@@didinau Ok. I'm just curious with all this people pairing them up. So if square enix didn't officially confirm then probably PT 3 will be the true outcome.
so from everything…. Crisis core ( original ) -> OG FF7 -> AC While FF7 Remake , Rebirth and 3rd part are considering *WHAT IF* scenarios. Also , I am sure is that this Aerith is actually from OG timeline and not the Remake and Rebirth timeline. So I guess is that OG Aerith has a date with Cloud of the Remake timeline.
Cloud conhece muito bem a Tifa, se conhecem a anos, eles possuem conexões fortes, a Tifa não ama o Cloud por ter tornado esse tal soldado, ela se apaixonou pelo verdadeiro Cloud
I thought at the end of Remake, this is simply Aerith from the OG timeline going New Game+? How is she still going down the same path as the OG? They even shows the 7 seconds to the end reference as if they could change things this time round
Either I don't understand it or what Sephiroth explains here makes no sense. How exactly can A PLANET create "worlds"? What does this even mean, that one planet can create entire universes? Which then somehow "die" and... go back inside the planet? WUT?
This is a series where planets create crystals that govern the elements, or have the afterlife available in physical form (Farplane FFX), or have planets literally merge into each other (Gaia/Terra FFIX). They're saying here that Gaia here has a Lifestream that involves *all life* on it, and now the story is explaining how its all life that *existed, exists, could exist, and could ever exist*. 'Time magic' (and time travel stories) were a thing in FF series since early, and now FFVII lore is being expanded to have it that this is very much a magic that the Lifestream involves itself with, just as every other magic. It does appear that the Lifestream only includes everything on the planet, not the cosmos and other planets beyond. Space and time in FF often doesn't work just as we'd try to understand it in more concrete terms IRL. Its a fantasy. Everything on the planet is fueled by spirit energy, 'mako'. In this new story, if spirit energy (collections of all vibrant memories and feelings and wills) is used to make new worlds, eventually this spirit will cycle out and the world loses integrity and breaks away. If mankind keeps using Mako, they're physically exhausting it to just crudely transform it into other more basic elements (electricity, metal, etc). This is part of what makes up a world, sure, but it deprives a world of its 'spirit' and Zack's story is illustrating what becomes of an outright dying world, a world literally becoming without memory, feelings, will. The people are losing awareness of time, they're becoming collectively depressed, and lacking the will to take active action about anything important. The land is decaying and the integrity of reality is weakening. The planet tries to create and maintain worlds that will survive longer and continuously cycle back in spirit to itself. Supposedly, the going model for this was akin to the FFVII original story and outcome, at least due to the invasion of Jenova. Jenova is also an entity that can see beyond time and space (something seen in other JRPGs like Chrono Trigger), and it'd understand that attacking Gaia (again in this Remake continuity) means attacking it at all corners and all worlds. We'll likely see how this story version's Cetra handled a Jenova on this scale, but its already hinted with things like 'this Black Materia is a fake, the real was put into another world'.
@@basket073 I mean that this scene should've been the new scene where she dies. I think it's more dramatic and impactful than the original as a moment, and would've made more sense with the plot of Rebirth instead of recreating the og scene but making it messy and confusing.
@@zangbang9886 Yeah, but this is actually the “goodbye” scene of Rebirth and I consider it very impactful. What happens after it’s most about Cloud messed mind than Aerith’s death.
Saying goodbye to her friend must've been hard. Meeting him allowed her to meet all the people she journeyed with and at least she got to have fun at some points and see the world before she had to return to the planet. Now she'll watch over her friends from the afterlife, and I can't wait to see her reunion with Zack in Part 3!
She can probably be at peace with Zack. Lmao While the real Arieth and Zack tapping each other some where hiding while their dead clones ghost body are gone. 😂 Sorry Cloud but the real Arieth is with her boyfriend Zack. Lmao thats why sephiroth can't find her in other realm. Heck she's trying to make cloud and zack alive don't you guys get it.
