I literally laughed every time Fat Chocobo made a move.

I’m surprised that they left out thunder element (Ramuh) out in first part.. water and earth are not the main element this time but they put leviathan

Infrit, Fat Choboco and Shiva while at first are decent summons, in the original became obsolete fairly quickly, the summons already featured so far are ok, In the original game, Choco/Mog was good early because it could inflict "stop" and was good against flying enemies. Leviathan was ok until you got "Bahamut" shortly after and then it became useless. Infrit was good with fire damage until you got the "Phoenix" summon which again made it useless, Shiva, and Fat Choboco were simply overwhelmed by other Summons that just mearly did more base damage. there were 16 summons in the original and several I really hope they bring back for this remake. -Kujata: all 4 main elemental type attacks -Phoenix: Massive Fire damage and was the ultimate "anti game over" type materia especially if paired with "final attack" because it would also revive all downed party members to full HP. -Hades: Hit all enemies with every negative status effect in existence -Odin: Potential to Instakill enemies -Bahamut Zero: Along with the sick amount of damage from his Terraflare attack, pairing with HP/MP absorb materia also simultaneously restored your party's HP and MP as well.

That kiss shiva blows when using diamond dust gets me everytime.

Gotta love how they kept the FFXIII summon system, the "Eidolon" stays with you in the field and leaves with a special attack.

the cactuar summon is giving me mix feelings. One part of me is having frustrating flashbacks on chasing it and trying to catch it on mini games, another part of me is like yes~ shoot needles at my enemy~ on the other note, carbuncle here looks like a mix of dog and cat! I want a pushy of it!

Summons in FF7R are so much better than the summons in FF15, first you actually have to put in the work if you want to call forth Ifrit or Bahamut and so on for aid not just hold L2 depending on RNG.

As much as I loved final fantasy XV (don't hate me, I loved the soundtrack and story personally), the summons here felt easily accessible than the summons in 15 as they were purely random, but here you can summon on command
