I wish that were true, unfortunately these 2 disks wont even let you smell Knights of the Round. Midgar and done is what I would assume, game ending at the ramp right before you leave Midgar. Then us having to wait an eternity for part 2 :(

What got you? I want it to be at least as good as the original, but I ve seen only battles and empty streets. They are changing the story as well (I dont know in what way) but the last 4 FFs' stories are....anyway let's hope the remake lives up to the hype or at least the original

well at least they already have a "template" to follow, unlike the last few FF where they had to made it from scratch.

@@ferzupoMithos The story changes should be pretty minor - if anything, they're probably changing tangential details. The whole core of the story should remain entirely in tact.

I'm still disappointed there are people whining about Tifa's redesign just because she doesn't look and jiggle like a DOA Fighter; she looks fucking GREAT!

Ditto. I know it's not going to feel the same way as it did when I first played it, but I think it'll be a joy nevertheless. I've forgotten most of the plot by now anyway. It's my favourite game of all-time but I played it through only once and left it as a beautiful memory. I'm hoping this will both be nostalgic but also feel like I'm playing a new game at the same time.

Mark Thomas I finally got one of my friends to play it for the first time! (She’s 43.... lol) and she loves it so far! Never played a turn based game so I’m having to hold her hand the whole time via shareplay on PS4 and I told her to keep cheater mode on. LB always up and HP/MP always full. Told her it’s not about the fighting, it’s about the story.

It’s really pretty much the same at the core of it. It’s just you do tiny attacks in between ATB turns instead of just standing around staring at the enemy. Changes it enough to feel modern to people who haven’t played it before and don’t have the nostalgia, but same-y enough to those that have.

@@Poo0fi Agreed, that's what I love about it is that it's like they upgraded the vanilla game to include some stuff to do in between waiting for ATB charges - the bulk of the damage you do in tougher battles still come from abilities that require charges. And they have the slowing of time included (Tactical Mode) to make your best decision with the use of these charges across all your active party members too. I just hope that because it's much more action-based than before, that they include some combination attacks too, something like Cloud spending a charge for one of his attacks to launch the enemy into the air, followed by Barret shooting it in mid-air to do significantly more damage.

They play with the audience. And it's one of the most talked about games praised for its gameplay and mechanics. Plus many game critics awards! Will not disappoint indeed.

@@jehu1313 I don't think any of the main game summons will be DLC. A Cactuar and Mini chick chocobo summon are hardly anything to be upset over. Now if Bahamut Zero was on there I think you'd be right to be upset, but they just look like little bonuses for pre- ordering the game. Which let's be honest, after that I'm down for a pre-order!

@@IndianTelephone yer seriously man I've been playing a ton of Japanese games. The past couple of years like yakuza 0 and kiwami 1 and 2 also NieR Automata is one of my fave games ever I feel like Japanese games are taking over again like they did in the 90s. loved what we saw gameplay visuals and music were all incredible the soundtrack was stunning.

You must play ff7 crisis core first. Before this.

jcarby23 The Buster Sword is part of the Story now. Imagine Zack and clouds story bro, so you put another sword on cloud (looks like) and Buster goes to the inventory, and thats it. And thats how the story went to hell. The rest of the sword doesnt exist in the game, they are not canon but Buster Sword yes.

@@iamgams Cloud doesn't remember Zack at this point. I am pretty sure that after Cloud remembers Zack he will honor him by leaving the buster sword on the spot where Zack died, just like it was in Advent Children. Advent Children might not be cannon, but that might still be included in the remake.

Exactly! I feel its a culmination of battle systems 7s ATB system,12s hybrid system, 13s stagger system and 15s real time system! Square Enix has been trialling and error for years and this is hopefully the return to form!

@@ilikefartjokes gonna be honest, i dont think many people care about many "iffy" stuff in the original, like the fort condor crap. they could possibly make a nod to them, but im pretty sure nobody is gonna cry to see them gone... if they cut them out, that is.

Marcos Danilo I was more talking about places like the whirlwind maze the great glacier and stuff like that. And when cloud got sucked up by the lifestream and that hallucination sequence afterwards.

The thing is, can you imagine how many 'episodes' it is going to take if Midgar (which was only 1/4 of Disc 1 in the original) takes up 2 whole discs in this remake? Granted I imagine a chunk of that memory is going to be for 'core mechanics' of the game and thus the future episodes might not need so much but still. As stoked as I am for this 'Episode' I am more curious how they are going to handle the rest of the game which has more 'world travel' in it.

i used to think that, but then i stopped and thought about it, it kinda makes sense, midgar is supposed to be MASSIVE, but in game, we only see around a spec of a few areas. now im pretty sure they will basically make an entire world out of that place,

Marcos Danilo yea for this first release we’re getting. Its just the rest of the world and the development time Im kinda worried about. I dont want them to rush anything tho

they said that the focus will be on the whole shinra arc for this game it's likely to be episodes and this one ending when they escape
