I think in Japanese he says, "dakara, ganbaru-tte!" which is more along the intent of the original line. Not sure why they changed it. Though I guess because Japanese is so context-dependent, and Zack is the way he is, both interpretations can work.
the new line doesn't even make any sense. He says" Not if i can help it" and proceeds to do nothing as tseng uses his helecopter missiles. So like, what did you do, zack?
Damn cody christian's line in the meteor shots limit break sounds almost exactly like steve burton. It was like playing the same recroding twice at the same time
It really sounds to me like they tried to get the actors to match the original deliveries for all the limit breaks because they knew the deliveries would be burned into people's minds from hearing them so many times before
The old moogle design was better for sure. I think the running animation for lucky stars was better in the old game than the new. Lastly the impact of the Angeal limit break felt heavier with each punch in the old game, but everything else does look super good in reunion
@Ghost7065 it's weird because it looks good, but some things are just kinda "off". Zack's voice being the most jarring thing imo. After seeing footage I also realize it's more akin to a high quality HD-Remaster than a remake that explains why he's alive in FF7R.
@Lord Deon In regards to Zack's new look up a video titled "Why Zack's Voice Matters". It will break down as to why his voice is "off" in Reunion. Mostly, it seems to be because Rick Gomez, the original English VA, did his job so well that he embodies the roll.
@Ghost7065 yeah it just doesn't sound as good as the original Zack. I've replayed the OG Crisis Core multiple times, so I know how he should sound and it was off putting
The hand painted style defo has tons of charms too it, they would have had to re hand paint it all along with more polys but really think the charm has slightly gone from the characters. Still beautiful game regardless.
@@OversoulGaming Thats not what art direction means.... the style if different and changed from hand painted too the FF7 remake style PBR based rendering.
I would've stuck with the dark surroundings for these moves. The random surroundings that don't at all match the battlefield don't look nearly as jarring as changing the surroundings entirely does.
Honestly, I don't blame the VA for this. There are times where he sounds really good. I think it's a case of really poor direction. Like...they didn't give him coaching or context for some scenes. Still wish it was Gomez though.
Why they did dirty on Moogle and also Air strike speech look diff? The other looks fine and really good improvement Cat sith, Chocobo, Tonberry and Item mugger is my favorites LB.
Moogle is because that's the same moogle model from ff7 remake. Air strike I'm gonna assume is because zack saying "I'm trying" doesn't really fit his character and will do attitude
The lightning effect in Apocalypse is actually rather disappointing in Reunion. They're just pulling an image down, and that's not how electricity moves, so it looks jarringly strange. Side-by-side, the original effect actually looks more believable. All the others are exceptional though!
Sure, 'not if I can help it' makes more sense but 'I'm trying, I'm trying' is more ICONIC. It doesn't help that Zack sounds about 15 years younger than he looks with the new VA.
I can't wait for payday this week, I'm so gonna grab this game. I played the SHIT out of the original, like I had almost all the materia (idr exactly how the system worked) maxed out. Like you could combine the materia to strengthen it and I had almost every single slot fitted with a +999% gem. Only reason I didn't fully max it is cause my friend wanted his psp back lol
You know I would be having a lot of fun with the game if it didn’t constantly crash. I just beat one of the hardest bosses in my mind, made it to phase 2 only for the game to crash on me. So now I have to do all that shit again
Watching this again, I just noticed Zack's eyes glow brighter than normal when he does the ending blow for rush assault. I wonder why they took it out. And the way he rushes the magic pot from off-screen will never not be funny to me.
not a fan of how they added back grounds to the ones that really shouldnt have back grounds... i mean like some of them you enter into another plain of existance to pull off... at least thats how the OG made them feel.

Me gustó la mejora del sistema de combate en el Reunión pero..... El juego en si no me gustó diría que pese a los problemas que tenía el original me gusto y me gusta mucho más :/
What I miss most is the post battle stances. Reunion barely does any classic ff7 victory poses just the generic quick sheathe the original does for most hp thresholds; saving the 'spin the blade into sheathe for specific bosses and cutscenes.
