im still hooked of this scene ahahah wtf, i was like "Wait what Odin gonna one shot Seifer ??? man I wanted to fight him fair and square, god i hate that summon sometimes" and then, seifer kills him lol... that was so unexpected.
I remember this happening back when the game was released in PS1 and playing it for the first time back then. I thought "there has to be a catch" and poor Odin was gone...
I'm just realizing now that he doesn't admonish Fujin and Raijin at all for defecting to our side, nor does he go "YOU TRAITORS, YOU'LL PAY!" He just salutes them with his weapon and gives them a fairly joyous farewell and lets them go. I love these three and their dynamic.
The problem with Seifer is that he doesn't really grow enough as a character. We only get a look at the real Seifer in the first part of the game and then he's being manipulated by Edea/Ultimecia for the rest of the story. I wish he broke free from her control earlier and had some more personal growth, maybe even have him join up with the team again to confront Ultimecia and atone for his mistakes.
@@BingBangPoe I agree. He isn't a one dimensional villain-he's actually a decent kid, just with some attitude. Like, when the SeeD graduates came out, even if he wasn't one of them and it was Squall there, he was the first one to clap for them. He's a sport. And the radio tower problem wouldn't have been discovered of he didn't leave his post and brought his squad with him. And didn't he escape detention to run to Timber in an attempt to assist Squall's party? Seifer has his heart in the right place, it's just his personality that's a bit problematic, lol.
@@rdu239 Perhaps. I like to think both: It's like he saw that as an opportunity, but Edea kinda put some magic in her words to butter it up, you know? Like she knew his weakness, and struck there.
The best part is that Seifer doesn't even make a movement to counter. He literally has an oncoming sword of instant death swinging right at him and he just stands there perfectly still like he's bunting a fucking baseball and that's enough to turn the lethality right back at Odin. He's like one of those god-level gamers who finds the perfect place to just loiter in front of the boss and then the insane desperation-attack bullet hell onslaught just whizzes onto the goddamn floor without a single projectile connecting.
If they ever give this the FF7R treatment they need to further develop Seifer. Hell even make him join the party. He had so much potential and just like...disappears.
I love how the programmers couldn't figure out how to debug Gilgamesh at the end of the Seifer fight, so they just added the bit about the dimensional portal at the end to explain it away.
What do you mean? It wasn’t a bug, gilgamesh was supposed to kill odin if you had gotten him before this fight it was intentional not a mistake or a bug not sure where you got your source from 🤷🏻♂️
@@viciousthrill7103 He's talking about Gilgamesh leaving and the lack of animation, it was scripted to be in, but they couldn't figure out how to despawn him out as a model and make it look natural so they threw in that bit about the dimensional interval as a pause but it still didn't look great.
Do not get Odin until disc4, Odin is the most efficient way to kill Omega weapon. GIlgamesh doesn't really know how to use Odin's Zantetsuken, so he always misses the attack on Omega Weapon. If you get gilgamesh, then you will spend too many days to be ready to kill Omega weapon, so I suggest replay the game again, and wait for Odin at Disc4. Odin is better for killing boss level's monsters and get Doomtrain's materials. Otherwise, you have to use Selphie's limit break of "the End" to kill Omega Weapon.
@@tarn616 Odin isn’t really better for omega weapon. He is scripted to not spawn for bosses. Gilgamesh can spawn for bosses but his zantetsuken misses probably to avoid easy kills against super bosses. I’m assuming the Only reason The end still works against bosses is because it’s exponentially more rare to pull than Odin or Gilgamesh zantetsuken.
Thing is you can keep Odin from being turned into that by never getting Odin and waiting after this fight to get Odin and have a 100% installed kill Odin vs his 4 random sword activation version
Seifer is as skilled as Squall hes just cocky, paranoid, delusional and underestimates others. Which is why Squall surpasses him, had he never stayed that way he could have been the strongest character in the game.
I almost wish this could have been a one on one ala biran and yenke vs kimahri. sorta just tie off that opening cutscene, seifer makes reference to it amd and the scar... but I also get that it could have be weird to program or whatever
I mean. The Seifer in KH isn't the same as Seifer from VIII. So that's kind of the players' fault for thinking they are one and the same. Only their appearance is the same. For all intents and purposes they are two different people.
The Man himself. Guys, Play Opera Omina (mobile), by far the best Crossover FF, in my Opinion. Seifers EX Weapon Banner is now on the sizzle for 2 weeks!
@@seishuncomplex I don't know, cause I don't know all EX's. But EASY one of the TOP Tiers! Gabranth, Vayne, Edge & Cyan too. Definitely forgot Some. Shadow is a honorable Mention.
@@CrimsonHybrid Absolute Understandable. My: FF Franchise: 3. Seifer (Honestly I can't decide golbez or him, golbez is a badass, but seifer Let himself manipulated by Ultimecia, and that's a Manko for me. But on the other side he fucking one hitted Odin!) 2. Golbez 1. Kefka Opera Omina: 3. Eald'narche (just saw his gameplay on Japanese Version, but he could be rank to 2, when I playing him in Global!) 2. Seifer 1. Kefka
@himankdayal7013 I know this comment is old but each final fantasy takes place in different t worlds entirely. They can be viewed as in the same universe though.
I will never get over Seifers name 😂😂😂 in German Seife means soap…you could literally translate his name into something like „someone who soaps people“…maybe that’s why they renamed him into Cifer 😂
If they remake this game( not my favorite ff game but it’s not a bad game) They should really do more with Siefer honeslty maybe we can have side missions with him while the main party is doing the original quest. We can learn more about why his dream was to be a knight and maybe get some inside information on Ultemicia.
@@Jaykalaw0922 bro that would be cool Siefer honestly didn’t get a fair deal in that game. I thought he was funny called Zell chicken wuss should have done more with him.
@@MrRed424 definitely! I really like Seifer as a character and i was really hoping before when i was a child that i would be able to permanently add him as a playable character with his own scenarios and sides i'd love to see his lines in different instances with the party 🥰
@@arbellason2094 Are you fucking kidding me? Depending on what you're playing on, the R1 flat out doesn't work. I was playing on my phone and it would NOT let me do it, because every time I hit the button it would transport me to the apple screen.
This is my first time actually looking at the remastered characters and I gotta say they did a pretty fine job upping the models and textures! They didn't mess with the vision, they didn't add random gay feathers to Squall's hip and they didn't go overboard with the update. Some work on the battle backgrounds and the pre-rendered background would have been nice but overall still looks good, I'm glad they didn't butchered it.
Nah...it looks horrendous. They're too smooth with zero shading. They were rough on original, but at least the roughness added something to the models, and gave them some depth. This look like a bunch of cardboard cutouts fighting.
thats bs. You can do a pretty good playthrough using magic. The devs gave you a huge ass crafting system so you can replenish magic easily. you dont NEED to use magic. But then again you dont need summons, levelling or junctioning either. Just play the game however you like...more than any other final fantasy game before it FFVIII gives you a pretty diverse toolbox
I don't know if anyone else noticed because I just realized it today, but the reason why Seifer kills Odin here is because Odin is destined to die in Ragnarok. At long last, after decades of hating this part of the game, I learned to appreciate it. I have finally solved this mystery. The Buko Joe, at your service. XD
Siefer " hey come on, I thought you all were possies" Fujin " we are, we'll always be possies but because we're, that's why we're here to help you" 🤣🤣🤣 jap to eng translation always makes my day.
