I honestly love how you get straight to the point and not make a long ass video to explain a simple fight.

A week after watching this guide, I accidentally queued in Duty Finder to this fight. The people I was matched with panicked seeing the first timer bonus pop up, and being a PS4 user without a keyboard, I didn't have time to type that I was the new player before they pulled. This guide helped me not die and we cleared it without a single wipe. Told everyone that I was the new player after the fight. Thanks Mizzteq for the 7 commendations!

Hello there, as a newcomer (started mid October this year) I watch these guides all the time and they help a lot. So big thanks. What I noticed today during this was that the tank LB is able to save the party should the Spiny Plume die. Really saved our asses when the second plume died. For the first plume, I just pulled aggro, sheathed my weapon and then ran in a circle around the party. The plume didn't catch up and therefor couldn't apply the debuff.

Thank you very much for this guide; it helped me understand my role as a tank for this fight. Just got my clear, now on to Titan!

I've done some ARR Ex primals unsynced before where no mechanics are really that necessar, but yesterday I actually beat this synced (granted, overgeared, but alas) and I was so proud haha. It took four or five wipes, because several other in the party didn't know all the mechanics, but we only had one person leave and once we beat it everyone was pretty happy. Friend helped me learn, but this guide was also a nice help

Just ran this and 4 of the 8 party members were new randoms and asking for directions so the rest of us helped them out. We wiped 2 or 3 times before getting there, whoever you guys were that didn't rage-quit because of the newbies-- kudos for your patience. Omega server 3am lol

Just came ouf ot my first run there. We did pretty ok, but OMG for a first time it was so exhausting, and fun.

this guide helped my party a lot.. im a new player and it was my first time.. we screwed up at the first and got wiped because someone killed the spinny plume before garuda flew.. so i ended up teaching everyone what to do.. haha im actually surprised that only a few of them knew.. too bad didn't win the Xanthos mount xD

Have you tried the 7, 11 and 1 o'clock position method? I get the MT holding two in the beginning but on phase 4 the parties that I end up in is the dps goes to 7 o'clock to tank Charuda, OT goes to 1 o'clock and tanks the other sister and MT takes Garuda to 11 o'clock. I guess I'll explain more if you're interested.

Props! Very well done production I must say! I love everything (music sooooo good) however, I would suggest using more padding around you as you speak. It sounds like you are speaking in a medium sized room like a living room, perhaps with lots of hard/reflective surfaces (I'm guessing tile/wood floors, sounds like tile though). If you did this, you could get a much more accurate vocal tone.

Queued for this today. Everybody was new, we got to 23 minutes and all the dps left. Tried it a few more times and got to the second phase once with just 1 dps, 2 tanks, and 2 healers. But we ran out of time

Great vid! Question though: what's the best time to walk through the cardinal tornados during phase 4? I OT most of the time, and seem to get knocked back too often to close the distance with MT. Any advice?

Having neglected to learn many spells as a blue mage earlier, I decided that since I leveled blue mage up to lv. 70 in Patch 5.45, I have since soloed a number of level 50-60 dungeons, trials, and raids, including the 8-man ARR trial The Howling Eye (Extreme) or Garuda Extreme, to learn many spells. After numerous solo attempts resulting in dozens of Garuda deaths, I finally learned Spell #44, Feather Rain. Garuda took far more attempts to learn her action than with any other boss or mob. It usually takes me one, two, or three times to learn a spell in these instances. (It did take me several solo attempts to learn Devour in The Binding Coils of Bahamut - Turn 1.) Garuda's Slipstream won't come close to killing you if you're lv. 70, ilv. 400 (unless you have very low hp), but it stuns you if it hits you (unless you're stun resistant). You can get by largely ignoring mechanics as a lv. 70 blue mage. (I mimicked a tank.) But unless you can burn Garuda down fast, you better kill those two adds, Chirada and Suparna, or Garuda will do a lot of damage with Aerial Blast, maybe killing you, even as a lv. 70 blue mage tank. I target Chirada first, since she isn't initially tethered to Garuda like Suparna is. My action of choice: 3 or 4 Surpanakhas (learned from Ravana in Thok ast Thok [Hard], which I also soloed to learn), which should finish off an untethered Chirada. You may get lucky and kill both Chirada and Suparna with 4 Surpanakhas.

So, I'm on the extreme mode for howling eye, I play tank. I havent been able to get past it yet but I've been doing a good job nobody's yelling at me on the chat or anything. I just have a question about the spiny. In the chaos when it shows up it's hard to get ahold of it but this one time it just started following me for no reason. Is there a mechanic between off tank And on tank I'm missing? The trouble being if i dont grab the spiny right away the other tank and damage dealers end up killing it. Even when you say not to.

This fight is breaking my balls. Having to rely on PUG's is not helping at all. That and the fact that tanks refuse to listen to advice given to them by lowly healers like me. A massive thank you for this video and for the rest. Great advice, simple and to the point, and always lovely music.

Am a sprout, I notice that DPS who died (@4:15) is always the first to die at 50lv+ content. That’s a dragoon right?

I have to say: some of these fights mechanics are very wtf. Bounce the plume between two people to keep one person from getting three stacks of a debuff which will wipe the raid. Destroy it once Garuda disappears, run away from it to keep from wiping, but then run back in right after to keep from wiping. Who the hell came up with this shit?

Finally cleared one today.With 1 min left to spare lol. After 15 garuda fights. Like full 50 mins each try. Its always tanks fighting with each other or healers couldn't heal "stupid people" after one attempt. Lest forget the aoe spamming dps time spiny come out. Or people hugging pillars when they shouldnt.

After fail, after fail, and after 6 more fails, one look at your guide here and poof, all my mistakes/blank stare of the screen gone, besides having an extremely attractive voice, this guide made my Garuda run (and my life) a hell of alot more easier. Hmmm I wonder how overgeared are the ranged DPS on this vid. Cause 3 of them killed both Chi and Supa alone, DRG was dead, probably killed by WW. Ive seen many ppl trying this method on DF and not succeeding cause of DPS lack, once melee either die or cant reach Supa. Tht's bad, cause ppl see this and think they gonna make it regardless of DPS composition (ranged/melee) or gear. Not saying its impossible, but unlikely and very risky for melee DPS who will need to stay alive in most parties. Well, most of MTQ vids are Fing awesome thou. Thx a lot for those.
