FINAL FANTASY XV - Final Boss & Ending + Secret Scene 

That ending when Luna becomes the logo and the logo changes to be both of them gets me everytime. What a structurally messy yet beautiful story.

When Noctis ask his father to trust him, I like to think that it not that Regis didn't trust in Noctis but he wanted to defy Noctis's destiny more than anyone. It could also be the reason why he tried to make peace with the empire even if he knew it would fail. He tried his best to protect Noctis as a father would to protect his son.

Regis standing to the side, unable to watch as his son sacrifices himself is so gd heartbreaking.

You know the best part of all? This is literally Noct’s Final Fantasy.

"Off my chair, Jester. The King sits there." Badass.

That campfire scene... was more than I can take.

This scene was sad, but I didn't cry until the credits rolled and you could see all the pictures that Prompto took throughout the game. That's what got me.

Ending is not complicated. Noctis sacrificed himself to defeat the demon in the afterlife and in the afterlife he became king and married Luna. The end lol

To anyone asking. The bros didn't die, the campfire scene is actually a flashback to a previous campfire which wasn't explained until, as you can see, the ending itself. Luna and Noctis ARE dead, the ending is symbolic as you can see from the logo, they both go to their peaceful slumber, you can't even say it's afterlife it's just a symbolic way to explain they are forever in death (ofcourse, you could say they ARE going to be together in afterlife, but that's not the point of the scene). Noctis sacrificed himself to end the lucis line, save the world and end the deaths of other people, as it suggested many times along the game, so many people die for noctis, now it's his turn to die for the sake of Others. Ofcourse, this is my now favorite ending in the series without question. Thank you Tabata.

The final boss was when I reeled in that 240 pound fish. It took me 10 minutes and my line was already at about 60%

If you look closely, you can see Ardyn isn't even trying to fight. He truly did want to die.

A story of a boy.. who turned into a man... and sacrificed his own life for his people and the world.......Noctis is one of the most manliest ff protagonists and one of the deeper characters.. RIP KING OF KINGS

Noctis means Night in Latin so when he dies it also ends the eternal night. The symbolism is so great.

If there’s one thing that comforts me about Noctis’ death is that he died a man. Died a King. He may have been fated to die, but when his time drew near he faced it head on. He Walked Tall ... all the way to the very end. Long Live the name Noctis Lucis Caelum

God, the first FF that ends in a total tragedy. I love how Luna and Noctis closed their eyes in the final scene. One of the best and most underrated FF. It has become the most favourite one to me. Its themes are so mature and relatable.

I loved Ardyn. He was a victim and honestly, can’t blame him for the grudge against his family. At least now he can Rest In Peace.

That 15:45 transition when Regis appears and does not/cannot face his son and when the music starts playing is - in my opinion - the single most moving scene in the game (granted there were a lot). I can't imagine Regis raising his son up KNOWING he was to die, and by him too. Noctis is a tragic character but Regis is very much as well.

I’ve never sobbed so hard at a game ever. FFXV is flawed but you grow to love these boys and it was so emotionally devastating to watch that final scene.

I really love the part when Regis hesitate to kill his son. How he didnt want Noctis fate ended like him but in the end he knows he had to do it. As Noctis asked his father to trust him and slowly try to look at his father and he quickly killed Noctis. He knows if he hesitated he dont have the will to kill him. That some fatherly love there.

I loved and hated this ending. It was a big shocker and I didn't want it to end the way it did after that great journey. But after watching it a couple times, it's very fitting for the story and a great ending at that. What an amazing game.

I finished this game few hours ago and damn. It's been a while since I cried this much. After that I started thinking about how my time will come and how my goodbye will look like. This game is gold I swear.

im 24 years old , male, I must say this games ending got me fucking emotional, you formed a bond with your 3 friends, pretty much became brothers and in the last campfire scene, gah damn....right in the fucking heart. FF15 is and always will be a masterpiece.

In my 22 years of gaming, still one of the only games that got more than just a subtle teardrop out of me. I was thoroughly invested, and these moments sparked some of the most emotional feelings I've ever felt from a game. And I'm not one to get overly emotional, especially toward a game. I loved the journey, and was left with a bittersweet ending.

Ending absolutely killed me. It was good though. It definitely left me shook more than most any other game I've played.

The final scene in the throne room at 15:00 has to be my favourite in the game. The music, the flashbacks, coming full circle to where things began... everything is perfect. There's so much emotional subtlety to this scene. I love how Noct and his father never make eye contact, almost as though it's too difficult for Regis to bear witnessing the fate of his son. When Regis takes up his sword at 17:30 to make the final strike, Noctis is looking at the floor. Regis hesitates unable to deliver this final blow... Then just as Noctis starts looking up, Regis strikes, almost as though seeing his son's face and making eye contact would be too much to bear and he would not be able to fulfill his destiny and make that final strike. FF Forever!

The scene with Noctis and Lunafreya sitting on the throne with the ORIGINAL Final Fantasy theme playing and the title “Final Fantasy XV” cane up made me cry more than the campfire scene

The game may have it's flaws, but i like something that is new from this FF: 1. It's not turn based. A fresh start, although someone may disagree. 2. The Final Fantasy Logo changes Ingame (after you completed it) 3. The MAIN protagonist dies (Tidus is not count since he's back, Squall's condition was a cliffhanger) What i really wish in NG+: 1. Play as Young King Regis. 2. Noctis in an Phantom (Astral? KOTR?) Knights armor.

Was there even a world left to save? Ardyn had a decade of free roam and seemingly destroyed the world. 10 years without sun and almost everyone else should've died of starvation.

I don't get all the hate for this ending. I thought it was a great ending. In fact, the best ending in a FF game for a very long time. It makes the ending even better if you're able to read between the lines. Regis and Luna knew from the get-go what Noctis's true fate was; to give up his life to save the world and rid the world of daemons for good. This is why Regis was always so solemn about Noctis's duty and didn't want him to bear that burden. But, it being Noctis's fate, he had no choice. And, when you think about it, Noctis wasn't being groomed to be king; he was being groomed to die. This knowledge also makes the whole brotrip thing hit even harder as we see the four friends bond and grow as the story goes on, without them having any knowledge of their journey's true purpose. I also believe there's a lesson to be learned from when you get to pick *one* picture to take with you before you enter the throne room. That lesson is that as I went through the 150 pictures I had decided to save over the course of the game it's that it's the small things in life that matter and should be cherished. Lastly, Noctis's and Luna's afterlife/dream-like sequence made the whole ending in my opinion. It was beautiful, and it showed that all the two ever wanted was to be together and rule Lucis peacefully. A beautiful, bittersweet ending no matter what the haters say. Thank you SE for this great game. Now, off to continue doing post-game stuff! Also, we seriously need a DLC where we get to use older Noctis because that is the best male design in any FF game ever. I wanna kiss him. Coming from a straight guy. I tried using the kingly raiment on younger Noctis but it just doesn't suit him.

I love what happens at 11:40. Ardyn, having lost to Noctis, is finally able to voice his greatest and most deeply hidden fear - that even THIS doesn't mean the gods are done with him yet and there's still more torture in store for him. And Noctis, bless him, understands and forgives Ardyn. "This time... you can rest in peace." Reassurance for a traumatized soul that's suffered so much. Noctis became a good king, able to offer his hand in empathy even to the most broken and downtrodden of the Lucians.

The rest of the bros didn't die... They survived the attack of all those daemons in Gralea, and they weren't even in their prime. Ten years later they're absolute bosses, and badass Ignis is back. Of course they could handle a couple of daemons while Noctis was fighting Ardyn. They're the ones who will rebuild the world.

This is Japan’s version of a happy ending, dying honorable. Ignis’s story gives an alternate ending that basically wipes out all the death and makes us Americans happier

It's been months since I finished this game and I'm still fucked up, it's almost as bad as a breakup

We all know, that if you did not choose the group photo to take with you to the end. You are a monster.

I love how the English version is « you guys are the best » while the french version can be translated as « after all, you guys are like my brothers ». Both of these lines are different but shine in their own way.

This boss is a commentary on the game developement itself. "The 10 years you've spent accumulating power."

I can't believe people seriously didn't like this game. I thought it was an amazing piece of art, and most importantly, it was fun to play. I'm captivated by the story and love this universe, and I hope we get to see at least mentions of these characters in future FF games. I guess those that don't like the story, just don't understand it.

I loved this ending. The game may have been troubled at launch, but the 4 brothers kept me playing.

26:38 if you notice, there is no seat near the throne. So actually Luna in reality is in half standing or half sitting. It is a very inconvenient position. Well done, girls will sacrifice to look good even in fantasy So, Luna is a strong girl? not damsel in distress? the last cut scene is nice

A wonderful detail: Somnus starts playing when you start the final mission, but with lyrics. I was in denial that Noct will die, but the song started and I heard the word: tragoedia... I just felt it - This isn't gonna end well at all. I went through the mission feeling on edge with utter despair looming over me. What a wonderful last chapter. Probably the best ever.

“Walk tall my son.” Said a father who knew what was going to become him, to his son who didn’t know a thing and may have been just a bit bratty but still loved his father even thought they both knew he wasn’t ready to ascend to the throne yet. Was powerful even though it was the beginning of the game. “Walk tall...my friends” Said the son of the now late king who was finally ready to take his rightful place as the king of kings and banish away the darkness and evil from the world. Even though he sacrificed himself, he knew he was ready for it. Very powerful. King Noctis was a true hero.

Ardyn was, beyond ANY doubt, both the best and the most evil villain of a FF game to date. Sephiroth and Kefka can kiss my ass. They had to transform into other forms to stand against the heroes. Not only did "final boss" Ardyn look the EXACT same throughout the ENTIRE game, but he was also smart enough to plan for the coming battle by realizing that the throne would only be able to seat ONE king (instead of FOUR, had Gladiolus Ignis and Prompto helped Noctis). Ardyn was to FF what Heath Ledger's Joker was to "The Dark Knight" (they wreaked havoc on the world (1) by psychologically breaking the hero down and destroying friendships, all while (2) never actually confronting the hero physically until the end). And even though the battle might have been a little easy, it was almost as if I knew hard Noctis was gripping his sword because of how hard I was gripping my control. It was an epic, one-on-one clash between kinsmen and virtual twins. Neck and neck. Strike for strike. Right down to the very last second. I was left BREATHLESS at the end

I was devastated for 3 days after beating this.

From what we heard from the time it was still FF Versus XIII, here's what the story was supposed to be like: The kingdom of Lucis was plunged in eternal darkness...but no one cared, for it was a society that worshipped Death (Etro). Indeed, people who went through near-death experiences had been given a small glimpse of Etro's power, allowing them to do the kind of things we see in the actual game. Noctis was one of those people. He was also the heir to the Royal Family of Lucis, which operated more like a mafia than an actual monarchy. As the holders of the last Crystals, they had basically the rest of the world under their thumb. Another person with the powers of Etro was Stella, and she was, originally, supposed to be the Final Boss. Indeed, the attacks on the kingdom of Lucis were motivated by Nifleheim, which actually wanted Lucis to share their power with the world instead of dominating the world (at the time, Lucis was the only "modern" kingdom in the world, the rest being more medieval like.) So originally, you were supposed to be the BAD GUY of the story!! And if you remember well the very, very first trailer of Versus XIII, we see Noctis sitting on his throne, alone and depressed, waiting for waves of soldiers to repell single-handedly. That meant that he had actually achieved supreme power...and was more alone than ever since, having killed Stella, he had lost the only person who could understand him, the only glimpse of light in his world.

even if ardyn was the main antagonist... i think he was the biggest victim, he used his power as a lucis to save people from being turned into monsters, he was a savior and yet everything was taken from him, and he was polluted and corrupted by the monsters and had to live two thousand years, two thousand years corrupted by the monsters, only feeling hate towards the lucii who denied him his ascension and then completing his revenge... ardyn deserved something more... ardyn shares something with noctis, more thn the two of them being lucis caelum, both lived their lives helping their kingdom... and both died because of it... long live ardyn finally set free by noctis, and long live noctis, whose sacrifice will remain in our hearts... it was a beautiful game and i loved every minute of it, best roadtrip ever my friends.

just finished this game (I know I’m late) and wow. Such a wonderful experience. Never have I played a game where I grew so attached to the four protagonists. I waited every day to sit in my couch at evening to play and laugh, cry and joy with them. This ending made me cry, and I’m happy I did because games lately started to bore me, but this captured me. Such a fantastic journey, love this game.

Am I the only one happy because the ending was bittersweet?? Most FF games have the same ending, heroe survives because of a miracle, all the world is happy and peace prevails. This one at last has an ending realistic and coherent with the story, and the bonds you make with the gang throughout the game makes it even better and more emotional. THAT'S A GOOD ENDING. Not something that has to end the way you want it because of the sake of wanting it. And please, it's not all a tragedy: the world is at peace, Noctis and Luna are together in the afterlife, and his 3 friends survived

This game was soooo incredible!!! I purposely waited almost a year to beat the game because I did not want the story to end. I don't like to compare to other Final Fantasy games, but my favs are 7, 8, 10, and 15. Everything from the graphics, to the music, camping, character bonding....damn good game.

Although Tabata presents stories awfully, he always manages to nail the endings somehow.

You guys haven't understood the ending at all- The brothers didn't die they survived the one who died was noctis. Only Luna and Noctis died.

I was crying throughout the ending, but when they showed the throne room decorated for the wedding, and then Luna in the wedding gown, THEN THEY BOTH TURNED INTO THE LOGO??? I was inconsolable. Such a beautiful game. I've had it since release, And I've just never been able to stick with it. But I'm so glad I stuck with it this time.

Why is it referred to a secret scene/ending when you regularly get to see it?

Many people complain that Luna and Noctis aren't together during the whole game, but I think that's what make Luna's death and the final scene more meaningful and impactful. The fact that they don't get together until the after life is tragic, and... At the same time kind of beautiful. I don't think I would get so emotional with the final scene if they would have gotten together during the game...

It's a shame the rest of the game's storytelling wasn't nearly as engaging as the last couple hours.

I just finished Final Fantasy XV this evening and all I can say is that it's one great game. It's now my 3rd favourite Final Fantasy. I liked the story despite it's faults, I really liked the characters, loved the gameplay, the music and the game looks gorgeous. The game gives you everything you want from a Final Fantasy game, the feels, the emotions and there is so much good about this game. I wouldn't say it's the best Final Fantasy but it's definitely one of the best ones. I will be playing this game again and do everything I possibly can in the game, all the side quests, dungeons, etc. Although the game could have been better it still delivered and impressed me. It gives hope to the series and for Square to make more Final Fantasy games. I do wonder what their last Final Fantasy will be though.

the build up in the soundtrack at 18:50 onwards always gets me, I love how much importance it adds to the scene. beautiful game with a beautiful soundtrack. Confusing at times, but none the less it was a very enjoyable game. This one holds a special place with me, alongside FF7/8 and 10/10-2 :D

The only reason I liked that Noctis had died was because Luna had died too. Alive or dead, both had to end up together somehow ...

Great Ending! Very different to end this game as a bitter sweet ending than the typical the hero survives death. Each Final Fantasy protagonist has survived from their near-death experiences for example.. FF7 cloud was saved by Tifa multiple times, FF9 Zidane miraculously survived the destruction of the Giant tree, Tidus was brought back in FF10-2. Glad this was different and sorta like a Shakespeare story. Great Job Square Enix for saving this series from that devil of FF13

For what I’m used to in a Final Fantasy, this game may not have checked all the boxes, but the ending sequence was something it nailed. Made it worth the experience!

I'm a little ashamed of saying this, but the ending made me shade a tear. That hadn't happened in years. The best, most moving ending in years.

Man, seeing Noctis do the "SITTING POSE" on his throne gave me goosebumps; albeit in a lighter setting, it will always be his iconic pose from VERSUS to XV for me. 😭

I played and finished the game on 2016. And after 6 years, i played it again with all the dlcs, updates, corrections, additions, etc. Still what a blast! Even had more fun! and man oh man…. the ending still left me broken. Damn it Mr. Tabata!!! Now only left is to read the book “Dawn of the future.” (Already on delivery). Can’t wait!!!
