People complained about Noctis’ attitude like he was some prissy prince but seriously the dude knew his fate and that it SUCKED. I found his sarcasm about it and reluctance, even while he went through with everything, both realistic and refreshing. He wasn’t the “dashing hero” archetype. He was just a regular guy with a horrible destiny and three great friends.
@@Kspice9000 He was groomed to accomplish that destiny though. Must've been a weird childhood. Plus, he may have had suspicions about his destiny given his name (which literally tells you that).
For those who do not understand the last scene with Noctis and Luna. They are not alive. Both are DEAD. This scene shows the two in the afterlife where they are together in this dream of their wedding. This is Noctis and Luna's "Final Fantasy". And at the end they close their eyes and sleep means that they have fulfilled their task and can now rest together in this dream in peace.
@@vincenthawthorne9360 bro gets stabbed repeatedly in the chest and slumps over at the end howd yall think he was still alive he even said goodbye to his friends and everything 😭
After this if you play the Credit scene on the Main menu, you will see a scene showing that Prompto, Gladiolus, and Ignis survived the final battle and will continue their life now that the light has been restored to the world.
I honestly could never understand the hate for his game, it's special packed with emotion and heart and most importantly ambition, no matter what the haters say it'll remain one of my all time favorites, sure gameplay is adequate at best and story felt incohesive at first but royal, and that ending i just would be a madman, love final fantasy and i love XV. Walk tall....my friends.
If you only play the final version yeah, sure. But those who played the game at launch and got later hit with DLC that filled plot holes when probably, speaking of me on this, didn't even care anymore... Yeah, some people dislike the game cause the played the unfinished version
I know the development hell this game went through, but god damn it I wish there was more Luna in the game. And more of her edgy brother. Reading old notes and how they originally intended the game to be breaks my heart. We just got a fraction of what they wanted to make.
Yeah, the only time Noct and Luna were together was during the *unspecified* amount of time Noct was recovering from his injuries. That could've been 2 weeks for all we know!
It's actually not just a political marriage. The two did genuinely love each other. If they didn't then they wouldn't have bothered to get married in the afterlife. The problem was they couldn't communicate openly because Luna's kingdom was under the control of Insomnia's greatest political enemy, so the only method they had to communicate was through writing brief messages to each other in Luna's journal, which was carried between the two over the years of their seperation. They wanted to have a normal relationship, but life got in the way, so they were only able to have their wish fulfilled after death.
C Matteo It's not. Pay attention to the plot. 1. Luna was extremely happy when she received her wedding dress. And was very eager to marry Noctis. 2. Luna wants to meet and embrace Noctis not because of her duty, simply because of something greater, love. (Gentiana scene in the game). 3. Luna cried on multiple occasions because she couldn't meet Noct, and dreaded to see him. 4. Shiva swore to reunite Luna and Noct, and Luna was happy at this. 5. Luna's penultimate wish was to save the world from the scourge and her ultimate wish was to be with Noctis. 6. Every Luna scene in the game has her rambling on why she can't meet Noct.
Even though this is the royal edition. I have to say that the boss battles they've added an some of the cutscenes were pretty good. Showing the emotions and determination each of the party members had. And it still makes me happy to see that ending.
As of Now Ifrit is No Longer the Pre-Final Boss of FFXV. I think the Yulers fought Noct in a way to Text him, in preparation for his Showdown with Ardyn
Yeah that's true. But I can see why. To make room for the old kings of yore. Which the Mystic Knight is the very first king of Lucis..well after Ardyn lost his right to be a Lucis king.
Doesn't he still have to die? If killing Ardyn was enough, he wouldn't have to sacrifice himself in the first place. The "happy ending" only postpone Noctis' sacrifice.
I still hope Ardyn can transform into some big badass demon form to beat like all the previous ff final boss fight. Ardyn is a pretty underwhelming final boss.
I started this game believing I was going to hate some of these characters. But my god I fell in love with these characters and almost cried by the end of the game
As much as I love the game when it came out, maybe they should've let the production reach all the way to this year, so that all this stuff could've been in the full release. Still a freaking amazing game though
Probably because Noctis and Luna barely knew each other. They were betrothed for a political marriage between Tenebrae and Lucis. And later betrothed again for a political marriage between Nilfheim and Lucis. They accepted their roles and tried their best to make it work. And came to love each other through letters alone.
@@minecraftrules1842 Noctis spend a couple months in Tenebrea to get healed from an injury. I wouldn't call that "spend their childhoods together" XD Even if they would have, Noctis and Luna haven't seen each other for 12 years. Thats more than half of Noctis' life. Noctis' and Luna's betrothal (1st and 2nd) was entirely political.
No it hasn't. Versus XIII was. That project got scraped it 2012, and they took what they had and reconfigured it in 2013 as XV. They then developed it from that point.
kaitoudark1 You have to have episode Gladio to even use it, other than that the only time he'll even use the Genji Blade is when you meet him again disguised as a Hunter.
Dick FACE considering most of the previous final dungeons - the new boss fights, the new cutscenes - it's much more in line with previous games in regards to the final dungeon. That plus the episodes... The controlled party member change option - seems more half baked to me. The appearance of the summons to break the barrier seems significant to the story and the progression of the lore.
Whelp! Still no timeskip Iris and Aranea. Oh come onnnn... We've seen ravus and Cor already.. I swear if they just toss a beard on iris and aranea and call it a day...
All new features are really great and definitely give more epicness to the game. It would have been amazing if we had to fight each Lucii when gathering royal arms (which should be a main quest). Waiting 2-3 more years to develop the game even further would have been appreciated ;-).
Impossible. Aera didn't exist in the lore of the game until after the release of the Royal Edition. She doesn't exist in the game's files and there's no mention of her of it in the Ultimania. She was created exclusively for the Ardyn episode and his DLC and the novel... In other words, it's a rewrite of Ardyn's past.
I haven't played this game in 5 years. I still remember it with how it launched in 2016. It's so strange yet nice to see new cutscenes added to the game, helping to fill in the gaps. Even back shortly after launch, they were patching new cutscenes in which I loved. I've never played the Royal edition or the episode DLCs but I'm sure I'll feel as if I'm playing this amazing game all over again. It holds such a special place in my heart. I miss those days where I'd see countless videos and memes about the boys haha.
Watching the ending again with the added new content is both beautiful and enjoyable, though the sad choice and fate Noctis was forced to endure has me think could I or another individual make this sacrifice if we were in the character's place. I will be overwhelmed with grief that I was chosen to be a sacrificial tool in a God's game with no objection. I applaud Square Enix for writing the story this way, as many companies do not implement sad endings (I consider this sad since neither Noctis or Lunafreya could return to life for their deeds). I am curious whether a FFXV-2 will be considered in the future, or if players would want a continuation of this plot. Thank you for sharing this video.
So I'm guessing the Mystic was the spirit of Ardyns brother who exiled him. Though Ardyn says he betrayed him, it looks like he feels bad for it and may have done it to protect Ardyn, his final wish being not only for the world, but Ardyn himself, to be saved
Interesting thought, but that's actually not the case. Ardyn "claims" that his brother, The Mystic, betrayed him because the crystal didn't choose Ardyn, but his brother instead, especially after he saved the world from the scourge at one point. He felt betrayed, hence why Ardyn was waiting for the arrival of The King of Kings (Noctis) so that he could get revenge on Lucis, the crystal & all of the following kings that came after. I'm pretty sure Ardyn exiled himself from the kingdom (correct me if I'm wrong) after being cursed/unworthy by the crystal when he tried gaining its power. Ironically, his immortal curse worked out in his favour to meet The Chosen One. Which definitely could lead to his brother feeling guilty for sure about how Ardyn turned out. If he wasn't cursed & remained patient, Ardyn would've most likely became the following king after The Mystic himself. In regards to saving the world, The Mystic must've felt some sort of regret as well since he must've blamed himself for how Ardyn ended up turning out.
Please don't tell me its one of those "buy the ending" type things._. This ending was kinda crappy the characters are great but why the ending so .... Idk how to describe how I feel about it i guess I just wished noctis and iris were together oof
Ardyn didn't exile himself. He was sealed away by the first Oracle (Greyshire Glacial Grotto Dungeon has a Monolith that points to that) and that is the reason why he is so bent on getting revenge on both lines: the Nox Fleuret for sealing him and the Lucis Caelum for denouncing him and taking from him what he believes was his right; to be king.
Would it have killed them to have Noctis tell Luna and the guys he loved them... Like have him say "I love you". All this anime tip towing around it... like just tell them you love them Noctis. It's OK.
He doesn't really need to say it to Luna. He has an entire afterlife to shower her with love and affection. As for the guys, they already had their teary eyed moment at the camp the night before the final battle.
It's what men are supposed to act like in most cultures. You don't really say it, but you show it. I liked it better that way. He doesn't say it but he clearly shows it.
I like some of the ideas like fighting the former Kings (and Queen?) but some things feel off. Like Luna appearing and summoning all the Astrals. This makes their appearance to fight Ifrit (and Luna's appearance to seal away Ardyn) feel less important because we JUST saw them minutes ago, same for the kings striking Noctis down moments after he fought them.
By now, the news of our defeat has reached the Earth. The creatures we were sent here to tame are un-tamable, and the colonies we were sent to reclaim have proven to be stronger than we anticipated.
Hey, I had to get at least one joke in. I'm happy the dev team is continuing to add to the game, but it still brings to mind the reality that what people bought at launch was an incomplete game; not in the sense that it was unplayable or horribly buggy, but rather that you could practically feel that there was supposed to be more even as a passive observer. I'm still waiting on that "complete edition".
Honestly, I'm so used to playing through unplayable bullshit like AC Revelations. So when a company looks at a game and says "we fucked up, let's fix it post launch" it honestly makes me smile.
Chris Chen Essentially the game is finished. Yes, it's fixed its major story problems and now you have hands on access to the lore. Oblivious fans will always exist, who've played the game at launch and think nothing has progressed. It's a whole new experience and a whole new journey. Amazing. FFXV is pretty much complete at this point. Devs are just adding more to the complete version which is completely fine by me.
Noctis shouldve just lived with the power of the Kings stripped from him, and humanity not being able to use the crystal. My opinion. Yes yes he wouldnt be with Luna but to hell with that. Luna wasnt even around enough in the game enough for me to care like Yuna from FFX was so fuck it. Would rather he lived.
dont worry noct even if you died in this timeline your alternate universe timeline did make it. but suck for both of you that your arrange marrige is still failed in both timeline
I love this game I bought It opening week and thought it was great before these new cut scenes were added. Now with the added scenes and bosses the game only got better going forward. And it genuinely made me love the studios hard work in this game
Seriously in the end Ardyn won. The lucis line ended with noct. If noct was smart he wouldve gotten iris and Cindy pregnant just to keep the line going before going and offing himself.
Ardyn didn't just want the end of the Lucis line. He wanted the entire world to burn and the plans of the gods to come to nothing in the end so that the line of Lucis would die having accomplished nothing. By losing to Noctis, Ardyn failed to accomplish his ultimate goal of stopping the prophesy and then ruling over the dark world himself for the remainder of time as he watched the human race die a slow death. This is not Ardyn's victory at all. Yes the royals died, but they knew that was going to happen from the start. They were prepared for that eventuality. What matters is that they died for a greater purpose. Their deaths ensured that the prophesy would be fulfilled, so they can now be content that their sacrifices meant something. This is not what Ardyn wanted at all. The royals got everything they ever hoped for and so did the gods. Ardyn was the one who came out the loser here and all because he underestimated how strong Noctis would become. Ardyn thought that he could crush the chosen king and prove his superiority....but he was wrong.
Ailurophile But dying was never his aim in the first place....His goal was revenge, not death. The only reason Ardyn helped Noctis gain the power of the crystal was because defeating Noctis while he had the power of the crystal was the only way Ardyn could prove that Noctis was unworthy of the God's favor and that Ardyn was the one and only true King.
Thanks for the upload. Now I don't need to replay the game a 58193481036th time. I know this has been said alot, but these should really be in the game. Its like they have no idea what they want to do anymore, asking fans what they want to be in the game, adding cutscenes here and there....
Well, the only reason any of these DLCs and patches are even happening is because fans begged Square Enix to fill in plot holes and stuff. Their original plan was to abandon the game as a failure and start working on their next game. Since they had nothing planned after release, it makes sense they would need to get ideas from fans of what they should add, which is pretty dumb.
keetongu445 that..was not their plan at all? Ever? Huge companies don’t just abandon games they’ve poured huge sums of money and time into, they try and fix it or keep it going as long as possible?
I don't know. But I'm pretty sure they planned Gladio, Prompto and Ignis DLC. The plotholes in the base game was so painstakingly obvious that its cut content. I never heard of abandoning the game stuff, but I wish they just let it end. I want to support FFXV but its... already dead to me. All these plot fixing, dlcs, new content with new cd is bumming out my wallet and trust.
Can you imagine, This would be the engine to make a Dirge of Cerberus remake. It has all the tools needed. Dirge needs to be remade. Hopefully it will, because that is the final chapter in FFVII after advent children. We need a Dirge of Cerberus remake please
Sorry but the alternative ending from episode ignis I a lot more better than original. I’m not fan of tragic endings makes me feel like I wasted my time
Since I end this game for first time, I hoped a true final battle in 46:03 with Ardyn in a God Mode like Sephiroth. That would have made the end perfect for me.
My only regret is I bought this game too early... Dissapointed in getting the first day edition :(. Besides, what happens to Luna, happens so fast, there is no development, its so rushed I didnt have enough time to care. :(
Ramuh: I got you kid Shiva: your special, I'll be sure to help you once in a while... Leviathan: you puny insignificant humans don't deserve my help, if you are near water, I shall CONSIDER helping you. Titan: I only help on the super easy baby mode Bahamut: I'll only assist you with Ifrit Ifrit: haha fuck humans, also I'm tainted by ardyn now so I do his will.
i had the game when it first came out and i never got that badass 3 headed dog or the scene or mini bosses that came after. all i got was a regular behemoth enemy and a cutscene where they just opened the front gate, then fire boy fight, then the ardyn fight if i remember correctly. you're telling me i have to buy a whole new game just to get these other scenes or is it some kind of update or DLC?
This is FF15 Royal Edition. It has extra cutscenes which flesh out the ending a LOT better than the original game, plus 3 boss fights against some of the Kings of Yore, one of which is Ardyn's brother who exiled him. What you got was the original game which had the "rushed to shit" ending.
I think they gave the ending to much Action. Bevor this was this slightly sad road to the end (because you where aware that there where no way for noct to come out alive )with a little bit action which i liked. Now it is more like an Arena with a millon bosses. I just think that they should have placed the old kings for an example elswhere maybe in a extra dungeon it makes the end way to crowded.
I dont say that it is unusual or bad but i think that an ending where you dont have to fight a horde of bosses was (for me) more fitting to the slow pace of the overall game.
Not really this makes sense you probably saved all ur best items for the end and have a huge stalk pile this would be a good way to say time to use what you grinded the whole game for from items skill points weapons. It's how a true rpg is
Just got the royal edition on ps4 pro for an insanely awesome price of $17.50 and it was great, despite some terrible design flaws, imo, like nightime driving, but the end bosses were soooo good and challenging at level 44-45. These bosses ended up being level 52-53 by the end, and they were PUNISHING as hell. Well done, Square.
Would have been cool if you fought the old kings based on which royal arms you didn’t get. Would have given more incentive to collect them all. Some are post game only so you still have some to fight if you got all you could
WTF. i got platinum on this game like a week after it came out. I feel cheated! Just gonna wait till they announce a release date for the next FF game to replay it......
Cyro Lemon they scrapped everything and began it anew. It wasn't even 10 years development, 3 years like that so, they only managed to create a half-baked game instead of a complete game. The linearity after chapter 9 is ridiculous but many praised the game because of its drastic changes from previous main titles. I enjoyed the game but hate it when it didn't meet my expectation especially the linearity, plot holes and story telling. Guess they really have no time to make full story in one game. If not, brotherhood, kingslaive and other necessary DLCs should've been in original game.
Cyro Lemon I still don't know whether I should buy Royal edition or not, considering I've played the deluxe one, nowhere near the royal one. I felt so angry and refusing myself to buy another one but I can't stop thinking about it. I still need to buy more important DLCs to cover up some of the story... Kinda sad, really.
you see know why final fantasy xv must done by tetsuya nomura, yes it will done more years and longer, but i think the ending will be better than tabata did.
megaaziib uhm... There's no final ending yet, and that's BECAUSE Nomura couldn't figure out what to do, as his "grand idea" of the "fabula nova project" completely backfired, due to being obtuse and excessively convoluted with the XIII launch and failed sequels/ sister games. As such we have dlc packs and a staggered release. We also know Nomura is an incompetent leader who can't direct his way out of a one way hallway; as evidenced by Sakaguchi never letting him make staff decisions without supervision originally, the bad Kingdom Hearts development decisions and the resulting loss of Square's half of the rights to it in a bad deal for KH 2 also shows bad compromise skills, excessive business partnerships, and more. Please stop praising one individual, when others have room to grow.
Honestly this game woyld have been better the first run through if they didnt hide all these episodes behind a DLC wall... I hate games that hide extra story from the game game to make a buck... I enjoyed the game very muxh, but all the BS they squeeze outta ya pissed me off. Next time just release the fuckin game as a package deal...
Chris Davidson they were 5 fucking dollars a piece chill out plus the royal pack is 15 so u payed 30 dollars extra basically tht I admit is ridiculous but u do get quite a bit of content not counting the free updates
I'll keep buying the DLCs. Other games have sequels, XV has content. Finished the Royal Edition, having withdrawals! Say what you want about the story, but I love Noctis and the guys. I felt like I was right there on the road trip.
When you realize that Noctis' and Luna's spirits' returned to the throne room of Insomnia, which was most likely where the survivors of insomnia held Noctis' Coronation and Service.
wait you mean the characters in XV became old? PS. I never really watch or even played the XV(yet) but I already played the FF7 Remake, is the gameplay and controls of XV and 7Remake similar? I'm thinking of buying XV
Personally I don't feel like that alternate ending really fits the story. I usually hate tragic endings, but in the case of XV I wouldn't have it any other way.
That story also isnt the happy ending that it seems. In that ending ,Ardyn would return once another king or kings take the throne and continue his schemes
