Amazing tournament, so many awesome players. SPOILERS! Dragon did a fantastic job. His gameplay was really impressive, so I can't criticize him BUT Scar could win too. He missed so many punishments in the final. Specia Forces Sonya is such an interesting variation, way better than Demolition! It was nice to see SaltFace again. I missed him. Semiij grew up as a player. I was rooting 4 him as well
This was probably my favorite offline tournament since ESL for MKX. So many good players and hype, hype hype hype matches. Old faces and new faces all over the place. Would have liked to see Scar take it, but gg Dragon.
Kitana Prime is the only commentator who I've seen that only seeks good conversation but the rest have some ugly attitudes and always challenges you in conversation.
Scar’s Demo Sonya is disgusting!!! Those conversions with the grenades are VERY HARD to land consistently. They don’t even do much damage. They just look sexy as hell
Lewis Lawrence i dont see how, since the only guarenteed option is his low or a poke, and the oh is very fuzzyable and punishable on block. you can back dash or os the oh. it aint that cheap. his ability to space and play the neutral however is extremely strong in this variation.
Lewis Lawrence and if you notice the only time dragon went for the overhead he had 2 bars to break, and scar punished/blocked it just about every time, scar got conditioned and outplayed period, he didnt lose to no gimmick

Three years I've told Noble Dragon to stop running at Sonix on his wake up and he still does it year after year and loses thirty percent for it. Stubbornness and cockiness gets him slain Everytime. He's finally lucked out Sonic wasn't abusing it on the semi finals. Mixed feelings.
Whiskey_r For mortal kombat you dont need a arcade stick. Most people play with a dpad on a regular controller, for mortal kombat. It really just depends what you are more comfortable with. Whiskey_r Ohhh ok.... im not sure what they were using. For ps4 i use a Hori Fight Commander, they have a white version for xbox-one too. Probably the best controller I have ever used, it has a really solid D-pad. Good for mortal kombat. Sonic was 100% outplayed, no question. Dragon has levelled up big time and is really, really good. But, you're being as blind/in denial as those claiming sonic was playing around when you claim that sonic's never adapted. Look at the life of the game. As the meta has shifted, as the nerfs and buffs have come and gone, he has consistently switched up his play, characters, and has adapted how he's played in different matchups. In fact, sonic has been the "king from the get go" as you put it, due in large part to his ability to adapt to the style and tendencies of his opponents. The people making excuses for fox are ridiculous, but you're also downplaying out of I guess frustration with what you view as fanboying.
Maybe he was smiling because he was soundly beaten and happy that he finally actually has to play seriously if he wants to win? He's made mad money since he wins everything, but I imagine it would be very boring for him, specially since he has always been winning 3-0s or 3-1s mostly in finals.
Anytime SF loses you get "He wasn't serious" or "He was just fucking around." He had a true loss and went all out with it, that's why he was smiling. It's never fun to be extremely competitive but have very little competition. When you go all out, have a close match, and lose, it shows you can still improve and have as much fun as you used to. No need to make excuses for it, he just lost.
SonicFox is ridiculous. Winning Injustice 2, Top 3 in MKX and Grand Finals of Fighterz in one event... I know he lost here and there but those are 3 different games... Perfoming combos in Injustice 2 is slightly different than in MKX and the difference between those two games and DBFZ is enormous...

Mortal Kombat Sonya didn't have granades in mk9, Liu Kang didn't have chain fist in mk9, Jax didn't have a submachine gun in mk9, Scorpion didn't have minions in mk9. what's your point.
