Hello, would you make an upload, of the Eagle Humming Song? Isolate The Vocals, The Harmony. Of when the father did it, and when they all did it in harmony at the end?
2:16 Her tears says it all, Mae REALLY does care about Noa and did for Raka too, hell, Noa cares for her too!! There are truths to what Noa said, but Noa also needs to understand that the remaining vocal humans just want to survive, like the apes. That doesn’t justify Mae’s actions though, and here I believe she understood that she screwed up back at the vault. She remembered Raka’s last words, “Together Strong!” Meaning that humans and apes could be stronger if they worked together! This must’ve been her spark of hope for Noa’s question, a question she wants to solve now. “Can ape and human. . .live together?”
I didn’t notice this at first, but while we see Mae holding a gun behind her back for protection, she then accepts the pendant with both hands. She was willing to let her guard down for Noa.
@@e1talks632 yes, it is. There is so much in kingdom left open as a writing strategy to ensure the second one can top the first one. If the second one falls under the first one the project will be destroyed. Going this route ensures better storytelling over just making more money and I like that. I trust Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa as brilliant writers who know this basic concept.
Do you guys think that there are other ape communities other than the california community? Cause from my point of view, the only apes that got intelligent were the ones from the first movie and their descendants. Bad Ape said that some other monkeys in zoos that were in contact with humans also got smart, but they were rapidly killed. And the only places where there were great apes in nature were africa and southeast asia. I think that in those jungles, gorilas, chimps and orangutans are still just animals, since they’re kind of isolated from the virus ( in a crisis and end of world war, i dont think people would be doing gorila trekking). Also in the rest of the US, south america, Europe, Northen asia, Japan, australia there are not great apes other than the zoo ones. So I think that the civilized apes are restricted to california and that there are more smart human colonies around the globe.
I feel like she's conflicted because she believes that humans deserve their chance again while at the same time has come to somewhat care about the apes.
While I get why everyone’s upset with what Mae did , I understand why she did it. Throughout the story she s been through a lot and seen Proximus s apes killed her friends , the last thing she or any of us would’ve wanted in her situation is let him and his soldiers get there paws on firearms .
Mae was also the lesser evil compared to Proximus. She wanted her species to survive while Proximus fully intends to wipe out and dominate any remaining humans
@@metatron6254proximus killed apes and had no mercy for his own kind . That shows hes worse . His kingdom was built on slavery . Noas dad and otherr apes diddnt need to die and he Diddnt need to destroy noas village . Maes motives were just to help humans
I agree the movie is better with the scene of Proximus getting wrecked by the eagles, but every time I watch it I can't help but think Mae could have just turned around along with all the other apes, than once Proximus and his friends were down there pop the bombs. could have just buried him and had not drowned a bunch of innocent apes. I mean, she was the one with the gun you know none of em were going to do nothin fast they were amazed by it's power. I guess if this is how it played out we wouldn't have movie. Because movie.
@@kentinson1670 I am a human and humans destroyed themselves. I wouldnt be with the humans if I lived in this reality and give humans another chance to finish the job in destroying humanity. I dont think so they had their chance and now its gone. Also Noah will never trust another human being because he found out the hard way humans are deceitful and cant be trusted and that is sad because Noah is smart and a gentle soul.
It's kind of funny that Mae has that dumb and shocking look on her face when Noa says "Proximus was right", the guy just learned more of what he was taught and you expected him to just not taked heed to it. Also I get that Mae's point on how the bunker was made by humans but that was 300 years ago. Just like every great civilization that falls the next cultures or civilization pick up what others have left behind. I said this before I hope Noa is serious about making both his clan and species stronger. They need to learn how to defend them selves like making walls, learning how to blacksmith, reading and more. In the movie it shows he is crafty and has engineering skills maybe he can learn how to forge metals and craft electricity to better his people. Lastly I hope to God in the next one it's Noa making alliances with other and far distant ape communities.
Just noting right now is that you accidentally made a typo on they need to learn as “they nerd to learn.” At least I’m guessing that was your original intention on typing the sentence?
I think that they’re are the only inteligent apes around. They are all descendents from those apes from the first film and there were some isolated apes here and there from zoos just like Bad Ape. But if you think about ape population in direct contat with humans is small, and in a situation of crisis, humans wouldnt be worried about zoos. So I think that apes from nature in africa for examples are still animals since they are in the jungle isolated from the virus.
I wonder if his name has any meaning ? Noah’s Ark ? Is he gonna lead a large population of apes out of near extinction into a new era on a bigger scale than Caesar ever did ?
In this scene. We can tell that mae isn't inherently evil, just conflicted if anything. Alot of people like to compare Mae to koba as a "human counterpart" to him. And while i can see the similarities. The difference is that mae only wants to help her own kind at any cost, and its clear she doesn't willingly want to hurt the apes. When she flooded the apes and the bunker inside. You could see how displeased she was, she clearly did not want to do this. She could have chosen a better route yes, but do remember that proximus was an evil ape and she was surrounded by a species of ape that is physically stronger than her. And if she really was as evil as koba, i doubt she would have showed any emotion looking at the flood she caused and the apes who died as a result.
And if she really was as evil and prejudiced as koba, i don't think she would want to return to the eagle clan village at all. If she was anything like koba and still went to the village, she could easily have shot and killed noa right then and there and fled the scene of the crime. Yes her hand was on the gun but the fact she never pulled it out shows that she does have some compassion.
There’s something about that ending with the final shot of Noa looking up at the sky. It’s almost reminiscent of Rise, where Caesar looked at the great beyond from a tree once being free from humans. It’s these endings that end on a hopeful but unknowing note and I love that about these stories cuz you never know what could happen next time
@@chenpang5554 there is a scene where some astronaut are going to mars on a new spaceship which then next scene there missing you tiny miss it on a news paper
Oh, it really is. I watched the Caesar trilogy for the first time in the days before going to watch Kingdom, and seeing it all in a row really emphasizes the lasting shadow Caesar has on this movie. What he did, what he taught, and what the human world was like are all so much more impactful when you take into consideration the events of the past trilogy. Hell, the film even begins with Caesar's funeral, so it's not entirely subtle about its themes on that front.
Agreed and Hopefully they will get along and neither of them die in the sequel , since Rokka might have survived , I demand that he will talk to Noa about Caesar
I really doubt it, Mae has been drilled with years of education and hatred as well as stories of how apes are going to replace them. Sure humans who have knowledge of how the virus started take accountability, but that won't matter much.
The director has said that if they get to make more films that Noa and Mae will be at the center of the story and that their friendship could be the driving force for peace between humans and apes, even if it doesn’t last.
The human race is not giving up tell they restore the planet on what it should have been. Which means the battle for the world between humans and Apes has only begun.
oh yeah I genuinely forgot She ran away after She flooded the volt. Like what was the point of Her returning and Noa even cried out for Her to stop but She did not listen.
OK I am just going to say it Mae is a fool and bold, you literally almost killed someone and his whole family and your just going to approach right at or near their village like nothing ever happened? WOW
@@e1talks632 Not true they attacked Proximus at the end and he killed Sylva. Also don't forget they are still apes those instincts of brutality are still there no different from humans. Some saw Ceasar as weak and look what happened in Dawn and War. Trust me Noa and his clan along with other apes that may join him are going to give humans a brutal war.
What she did was drastic and she was prioritizing keeping Proximus from getting the weapons, but the alternative was for her to let Noa, Soona and Anaya all die. She did not have enough bullets to kill all of Proximus' men, so whether she left or stayed Proximus would have gotten everything he wanted and Eagle Clan would suffer under his subjugation. Even though this probably wasn't Mae's intention, she gave them a fighting chance to defeat him. Also, the reason she came back was because, regardless of her actions she DOES care about Noa and WANTS him to realize she harbor any malice towards him. It just doesn't seem like she's considered that her desire for a human revival might threaten apes someday.
"peace" seems to be a term that is used when our opposition has given up after recieving to many damage to fight back. Because i'm there is alot of war being won through "peace", is only because they just cannot fight back anymore.
Doubt it. It will probably end with the Apes evolving to the point where they were in the original Planet of the Ape's. Then we get a shot of something crash landing on Earth and that being the astronauts that went into hyper sleep. IDK. We'll see.
I appreciate the ending being so ambiguous with the questions it raises. Is the revival of humanity dependent on the subjugation of simian civilization? Is the death of humanity the natural course of things? Is coexistence even possible? We don't know, and the film leaves it for us to determine. I was honestly surprised at how well-done this ending was when I saw it in theaters, they really maintained the morally complex tone of the Caesar trilogy in regard to the human-ape relationship. Both of our protagonists look towards the starry sky, one with hope at what may come, and one with worry, both justified in doing so.

Raka will have survived you can almost guarantee it. He's simply too loved of a character for the writers to just throw away and is saved to make the second one even better. Also, he is one of the only survivors with the actual knowledge of the true Caesar- something that we see in the 1968. Proximus, I don't think so though he was a disposable first movie villain in an introduction film like the green goblin. That's the vibe I get from it and the direction the story is going isn't going to be going back to him- there's simply not enough time in two more movies to do it all. It will most likely in my honest opinion return to the ongoing battle between mankind and the apes; remember this trilogy has to lead up to the 1968 series. Also foreshadowed by Noa asking Mae in the end if humans and apes will ever live together. Possibly have the actual war many thought War for the Planet of the apes was going to be. I think things will heat up in the second one and the third we will see all the intellectual speaking humans basically starting a war they can't finish. Again. and all that will be left is the primal ones, and the few survivors that went beneath the planet of the apes. This is my theory and looking at the way it is panned out I think pretty sound.
I noticed the gun! She could have shot Nero - but perhaps there was a mutual realisation that mutually reciprocated hate could be self destructive! On both sides!
It's good that Mae and Noah parted on mutual terms. While it's hard to say if they will ever be good friends at least they respect each other and are not likely to try and kill each other. I was also hoping that Raka had survived and was able to help Noah rebuild his home. I think Noah would've benefited from his counsel and experience.
I didn't notice this detail but tears were coming down Mae's eyes,2:12,if humans do become the next antagonist ,she will side with humans naturally, not completely though,if or when push comes to sholve ,she will protect the apes, noa and eagle clan.
Humans on the Planet of the Apes, The Last Humans of the planet of the Apes, Country of the Planet of the Apes. Title and sequel ideas this franchise can go anywhere. But I'm cheering for the apes.
Yeah no doubt about it that Mae and Noa will definitely meet each other again then possibly become good friends and live together in peace, I Hope Plus even though Noa is still a little upset with Mae after the flood I can tell Noa still is on good and friendly terms with her since he gave Mae the necklace as a reminder of Raka and she smiled back at him
I have to admit, when I first saw this I was a tad conflicted on the ending. The moment with Noa and Mae I still think is brilliant, really showcasing that they want what's best for their own kind, but do not entirely trust the other. They want to live in peace, but have their concerns. However, I'm not really sure I got the whole deal with Mae and the humans in the bunker. I can't remember, did they ever mention that Mae was immune to the virus? Is she meant to be a martyr for the humans? Like she's sacrificing herself to the virus for her people? I think that there could've been a bit more tension if there was a moment where you see her starting to get a nose bleed, indicating that she's slowly succumbing to the virus and that she doesn't have much time before she loses her ability to speak. I think it could've been a cool idea, but I guess they'd want to do more with other surviving humans for future movies, and there's not much that they can do with them if they're all dressed in protective suits and masks.

I know this is gonna lead to a direct adaptation of the very first Planet of the Apes. With the human astronauts returning to Earth and then finding out that the planet has been overtaken by apes.
We gotta wait until 2030 or 40, remember that the original happened 3000 years after this story. Astronauts might have to wait or according to this 5:08, it wont be longer
Had to see if the Simian virus was still around and if was still in its second stage mutation if making humans lose speech and even make them primitive
Probably because of the virus. Since Humanity was reduced to a fraction of what it once was. The various pockets of Humanity were so spread out that it could take weeks, months or even years to find them without technology. And if someone got infected, everyone was screwed.
I am fully convinced that the writers only added the female chimp and made Noa have feelings for her to prevent people from shipping Noa and Mae. Spoilers: It didn't work. Just look at AO3.
It is kind of believable that some, during the initial outbreak of the Simian Flu, took refuge underground to wait things out. Namely rich people with bunkers or government agents with access to cold war bunkers. After 10 years, when most of Humanity had died off, they would emerge and either collect survivors to join them. Or, upon realizing how the virus made said survivors devolve, went on missions to gather the supplies needed to make the bunkers their new home.
@@TimberlakeTigerGirl in that case they would look more ragged and have invented their own culture, like the bomb-worshipping cult in the original movies. These people look as if they went into the fallout shelter yesterday.

I’m pretty sure this new series is meant to go its own way; unconnected to the original films while still taking inspiration from them in certain ways.
Why did she have a gun behind her back? It felt like without giving any thought, she was gonna shoot noa. Knowingly, she would shoot doing it as self-defense
Non-canon Fanfiction in my head at the ending: _Both Mae and Noa are looking towards the incoming Trisolarans on their way to Earth_ ... _Trisolans were behind the virus creation all along to doom humanity before their arrival_
Should Humanity take back the Earth from the ape usurpers. They better dedicate a memorial for Mae because she is a hero to Humanity. She risked herself getting killed or infected with the Simian Flu if it still exists. In order to retrieve the tool needed to restart satellites and re establish communications between the last pockets of sentient Humans. May her name be enshrined forever as a Hero of Humanity. And let future generations use her as an example of loyalty, bravery and dedication to do what is needed for our race. Should the God Emperor deem it so, Mae shall have a place in his army in the Warp. So that when the Day of Reckoning arrives, she may serve the God Emperor once again by destroying Humanity's foes.

I agree. She was probably afraid and scared of what Noa would do if he hurt her after she blew up the dam, flooding the place with his clan still in there. She didn't have a choice. Mae couldn't let Proximus get his hands on all those weapons. At least she saved Noa's girlfriend's life. Cesar's greatest and frankly only failure was that he was never able to build a bridged for both his people and his adoptive father's people. Coming so close in the 2nd film, but seeing it all burn thanks to factors he failed to consider and fully burn down by the 3rd. I imagen and hope that the following movies will create a possible future where humans and apes can co-exist, and where as the same issues that plagued this potential union before, Human factions fully against the idea and another or several Ape Kingdoms, cuz lets be honest this world is big enough, with similar ideals to that of Proximus would attempt to stop it.
He really wasn't. Humans won't give up, and their ego won't allow them to share the title of "master of the planet". The only way for apes to survive is to do what Proximus did - creat a kingdom/empire strong enough to fight the humans.
@@christoperfleming6832 Exactly Proximus way is wrong Raka way on the other hand is right. Raka way is the more logical and compassionate route. Proximus enslaved other apes plus quite funny to say he was right when he tried to kill you Noa.
There are two things that make me wonder: did the virus that mutated and made humans become non-intelligent only occur on the American continent? Another thing, what is the situation like in the rest of the world after 300 years?
i think this time apes will go extinct because of the consequences of the virus and the down fall of humanity and humans will reclaim thare planet and this will probably happen like war of the planet of the apes human vs apes
They really care about each other but I have to agree we humans are selfish like really selfish heck we can't even trust each other either speaking as a human myself I'm just saying we are so flawed look at Mae she had her gun ready just in case while Noa came unarmed she was ready to kill him even after all they've been through. Makes you wonder really we human can barley live together without killing each other heck treated our own kind as slaves just because our skin is different I can see why in some films like this some say humanity is a cancer on it's own planet. Some want peace while others want war makes me scared to have kids cause I don't want them to have to deal with all this knowing that they are hated for no reason or hear about so much death around the world maybe not in my life time or kids who are alive now but I pray one day we change stop all this craziness in the world
This is a rather bleak opinion. Constantly bombarded with media showing the worst aspects of yourselves, yeah we seem like we suck. In reality, our nature is much more complicated. We are a much more cooperative species than either chimps or gorillas. You could not have our level of tech and power to control things without that. We have empathy, reason, and trust. There is also love, ingenuity, and resourcefulness. This exists alongside the brutal violence we inflict upon each other. Are we going to survive as a species? I don't know. But what Mae is doing is justified from a survival point of view. If you were in her shoes, you'd do anything possible to rebuild humanity. Now, the one thing I do hope she will drop, and this is the most realistic critique fans have of Mae, is the human supremacy bit. Ego won't allow her or the rest of humankind to accept apes as equals. And that's what I worry about for the next two films.
And human society has gone underground into old military bunkers constructed into homes and other things. Slowly gathering information to figure out a pathway. And contacting others. Will this lead to another conflict or a sought negotiation.
I have a feeling that this next set of films are going to lead into what becomes the forbidden zone at the end of the first original film, thus tying the series together.

Let them never forget Mae's name and dedicate a monument to her. So that generations from now, Humanity's children can learn of her and how brave she was. How low can you actually sink? I don't even know how to express myself after seeing this crap. Is the infantilization of humanity already so far advanced that, as you can see from some fans here, it is no longer recognized that this is just an infantile transposition, a 1-to-1 projection of human behaviour and even feelings onto the animal? My God, how narrow and limited do you have to be if you don't recognize the potential of what you could have done with it? Just imagine how much more appealing, mysterious, exciting, thrilling, etc....... everything could have been if the scriptwriters had concentrated on animal behavior, on the behavior in a group of apes, rather than just transferring human behavior to apes. That just makes everything the same again! Whether they are apes or humans doesn't matter anymore. They are interchangeable! They could also be hippos or anything else. The little bit of climbing doesn't make the monkey! How much more interesting and nerve-wracking would "real" apes be if they could only speak, but were apes and not hippos or humans? Yet another filmic proof of how you don't play your trump cards, how you cover a great idea with clichés and thus give it away. Like drawers without personality. The same cinematic disaster as Avatar 2.
