Forgot to toss it out there, but if you’re in need of replacing the t top finisher panels, USDM OE spec replacements are pretty much game over. But the ones from Japan are still available and ignore the RHD vs LHD craziness, they interchange. The only difference is USDM had locks, JDM ran on the trust you don’t steal my t tops please method. But the fix for that is get the replacement lock trim from Z Spec and it’s an easy swap. Would also suggest doing some serious polyurethane sealant on the insides of the new ones if you go that route so they don’t get destroyed if water leaks in. Did a couple coats on my JDM ones cause let’s face it, our cars leak.

I bought a custom flat bottom, new leathered, steering wheel from Interior Innovations for my 91 Z32. it was expensive as hell, and it took a month to get, but I am ultra happy with it.

keep an eye on those door window trims, mine started to bubble up in the heat after a month or two and looks horrible. idk if that rubber is supposed to breathe or what but next time i will pain it with a flexible vinyl type paint similar to plasti dip.

I use bulldog adhesion promoter on the trim black parts. The paint will stick better and last a lot longer.

Your steering wheels looks awesome, for an amateur job. That would be good enough for me, at least. I learned a lot of tidbits from you, and Chris Fix; he's got a steering wheel "leather rewrap" tutorial as well. And I intend to redo my steering wheel as well, as most of the OEM ones are worn out now....The way I look at it, is that unless you got $400,000 to "throw away" on a 993 Porsche that you want restored exactly to OEM specs with exclusively OEM parts, then it doesn't any better than this. The journey is the most important part. The finished product is the culmination of blood, sweat and tears. The rich guy who can blow through that kinda money to relive nostalgia obviously has a different journey in life. But for the most of us, the seemingly mundane things like restoring a 30 y.o. car brings a lot of meaning. Sorry for being so dramatic.

Fisheye is caused by silicone wax their is an additive that you can add to paint to prevent this. 6 hundred grit paper is to ok wet sand with. Make a better chose on paint next time.

Very ambitious taking on the steering wheel, but think you did a great job! Where do you search for very specific car parts? overall you seem to have pretty good luck.

I bought a new seal (p/n 90372-30P00).... ($230.00) for the back hatch because mine leaked and looked like crap. I've never put anything in like it before. I thought it was going to be easy. The vender said "Those just snap in" yea, right...took me hours to install even with a heat gun. It never occurred to me to tape it down like you did. duh

when are you putting in disco potato turbos? I've had my "91 twin turbo Z since 2008. Tell ya the truth, if I had to do it over again I think I would do an LS swap to save money in the long run.

Man I wish I had a space where I could do some of these things, currently my main focus though is getting the underbody fixed so mine will pass safety, then I'm going to pick at the rest. Only downside for me is I haven't found someone in Canada that can supply parts like I've found in the US. And being in Canada means I have to not only pay the exchange rate, but then also duty on top of it, so it get's pricey. I tried putting a cover on my car since it's winter currently, but found that I then have a lot of water condensation in the interior on the roof and windows, if I get the seals fixed on the t-top and a pillars, would this solve that issue?
