I bought a 94 Fairlady S TT with 11.2k miles! A older man bought it new! Ive been driving by it since I was 5 wanting it...He passed away and wife was selling it for 2k(for only me though ) .....So I gave her 3k and bought the mans coffin and flowers! R.I.P Billy Watkins!
@@TheAwmartin Thanks bud! I told her I could sell this car for probably 20k+ with the miles that's on it but I stop and asked about it my hole life she knew I wanted it since I was a baby haha
We are all used to seeing you light up the room with excitement. This is a special video simply due to the excitement we can all feel radiating out of Aaron. What a cool deal you two!
Hey Robert and Emily, if you need the manual swap I have the TT Manual Swap for ya'll on Ebay, incliding complete driveshaft, mount, OEM flywheel and alternator harness. Bring the BEAST out
Emily you are the dream wife and no mistake I’ve never witnessed such enthusiasm It’s a wonderful thing to witness and the fabulous content is a bonus 🏴🇺🇸🙏
Congrats on such a great find! I couldn't avoid but smile the whole video because I could feel your excitement for the car...glad that beautiful machine ended up on the right hands. I currently own 4 300ZX TT's so I'm a huge fan of these cars.
Cool Car! This is a great car to save so glad to see you guys pick this up. I would change the timing belt and water pump asap, then you have a very reliable motor.
Don’t change anything. Do your basic maintenance and flush the systems. Remember the oil pressure returned once you cycled fluids through it for a while. You want to retain as many factory original parts that came on this car. Replacement parts are almost always inferior to the original factory gear. Take your time . She ‘ll be back.
@@adammiller6606 Sorry, but this is terrible advice (I hope it was a joke). 120k service is a must for a VG that’s been sitting for a long time. Maintenance items are meant to be done… hence the schedule prescribed by Nissan. Not to mention, you can still get OEM timing belts, and the Gates ones are just as good, too.
@@adammiller6606 dude you should not handing out automotive advice. Not changing the timing belt on a 30+ year old car so that it retains it's value is just plain stupid. Please stop!
I love the 10-4! I said it thousands of times during my career as a LEO and even though I've been retired for 34 years I still say io all the time. keep saying it It's universal.
Welcome to the twin turbo Z car family! When I found mine almost 5 years ago, it was in terrible shape with mice nesting throughout the car. It ran but barely with misfires like yours, but I knew it would be worth fixing up, it also had not run or been driven in 15 years! (Had 2004 tags on the license plate). I couldn't believe I had the opportunity to buy this car, especially considering I live in SE Wisconsin and the car wasn't completely rusted away. Mine is a silver 92 300 ZX TT with manual 5 speed and BOSE sound system. Now that I have it all fixed up, i enjoy every time i get a chance to drive it, show it, or work on it. Thank you, your channel is one of the best on U Tube, it always brings a smile to my face!
When I was a teenager in Texas, the 300ZX was just coming on scene. I am a Mustang guy, but test drove the Z and fell in love. It would be a good bucket list car!!!
Dude, buy a lottery ticket! Because I'm sure you're the luckiest man on the planet, you could live a million lives and not find another one that nice sheesh. Yeah the Z is alright too.
Very nice Z you have there, I've had my 2004 350Z for well for nearly 7 years now and love it, only got 32K on the clock and leads a pretty easy life although does stand outside all year round in the UK.
Nice Z! I see this as Emily's daily driver! Leaky induction somewhere? Zs have oil pressurer Timing Chain tensioners, change the oil and timing chains, I bet the Oil pressure comes up and the ticking goes away! Also Heads up, all Z's injectors are typically noisy for the rest of the noise I hear. Maybe rebuild the injectors too? 300 Z drive trains were fairly strong. No change on the Transmission! 365 hp @ 6,500 rpm? All said and done, this Z is faster than Zen, right?!!
Oil pressure rule of thumb...per Smokey Yunick....minimum 10 psi per 1000 rpms...your golden, there. Find the bad injector or vacuum leak, new tires...brake service..repair coolant leak....LET HER EAT!
The dead miss is likely due to a clogged injector. That series engine had unusually small holes. BG 44K in the fuel tank will clear it if that is the problem. My uncle's Maxima of a similar year did that occasionally. If it had stick it would be MY ultimate dream car! Even in the right color combination.
My 2 cents worth! Ditch the VG30. Not worth spending money on apart from origionality. That motor is not one of Nissan's finest. It overheats, is unreliable and hard to work on also poor performance potential. Get a Mazworx SR20 instead with an easy 1000hp under the hood!
You guys lucked out with that car. Z32s are amazing if you take good care if them but they do tend to have problems if they sit. That misfire is usually caused by an injector problem like a bad connection or bad seal. The coolant leak is probably coming front one of the lines under the intake. The ticking is probably some air in the internals of the lifters, these engines like to do that in my experience. The oil pressure is a little bit low at idle but it could be the sending unit. Hope you guys enjoy this car!
lungy is a word today !!!!!!and not a Z family but do have a very clean and still drives like new 04 Nissan Altima 134k miles with a stick shift thank god as I here about all of the auto trans control module problems and supply problems if you have a problem with one on back order for ever :-) always like Nissan great cars will keep mine for ever if can
2nd owner on a red 1971 Datsun 240z. Mostly original with all matching numbers and such. Garage kept most of its life. Love showing it off and all the attention it gets. Though to dispel rumors of it being a pickup car, really only guys care about these things. There are flaws in everything. Its awesome non-the-less.
Just use a canuba wax and wash and don't damage the clear coat rubbing it with anything, being over metalic - it will peal flake/chip or tarnish from the first perosity in the sun/rain. So hard to find original clear coat on old cars that hasn't already started pealing and dulling from just 5 years old parked outside..
boy you scored a very nice and tidy Z there body wise and im sure it's probably just and injector plug corrosion on pins or coil pack plug also that alternator might have issue's as like you said when you put lights on or any load it runs worse get a voltmeter tester on your battery while running that coolant smell might be water pump leaking but also under plenum throttle body coolant lines have rubber hose's and clamps they split over time. the oil pressure seemed normal to me at idle there low and if warm about 60psi is ok at higher rpm the gauges are known for bum readings best to fit and after market one in a pod holder for more accuracy good luck with her she's in beautiful cond. ive owned my black 1990 2.0 for 20 yrs + and still love it.
That's a nice car and all. I hope your husband know that you the real, VIP girl you are Amazing you got the look brains attitude personality, a voice and face of an Angel
What a find !!! I'm so happy for you guys ! Those engines were known for lifter issues , there are upgradet replacements out there and the engine should get it's old roar back ! Have fun with that beauty !!!!
Seeing Aaron excited in front of the camera is kind of rare. Love the car. Love the roof, reminds me a bit of the Toyota MR2, aka Mr. Dos. The car looks so good inside and out. The seats cleaned up great, the plastic looks fine and nothing seems to be cracked or torn. Just beautiful. Congratulations. I can't wait to hear the sound when she's running properly. Such a nice car. I really like the shape and design.
1991 was a very good year I like your grand dad have a 91 mazda miata it has 125000 miles but it need a tune up and get the old gas out. Foe a 31 year old car they deserve the best, cant wait to see the next show
I’m so glad you both are doing this. I’ve owned every rendition of the Z Car except this one (z32). Don’t know who’s more excited me or you guys. Please post everything that you do with this one. 😁
This guy may be the most fortunate human I’ve ever seen. He gets his dream car, and more importantly, he is married to someone who shares his passion. Plus she is just stunning. Enjoy the next 60 or so years folks… and that sweet Z of course!
Awesome guys, reminds me of when i saved a 1980 VW Scirocco GTI in 1996 but i had to trailer it home and spent 200+ hours in rust repair, repaint and regular tlc but man did that baby go 🤟
Back in the early nintys I was working at a garage where we sold one of these to a customer he and his wife used it as a daily until one cold frosty morning on the way to work they were driving along a country road and hit black ice and spun the car it hit the bank backwards then spun round and hit the opposite bank front on so we got the car back for repair it had crushed one of the intercoolers and we could not source one as they weren't available so we had one hand built from aluminium as the standard ones are plastic end tanks and when done I drove her on test ,,,flying machine ,,, lots of respect from an old British petrol head
Not a big fan of foreign cars,,,but,,the first z I liked because of the swap,,,but damn,,,that I would definitely like to drive when she's all done,,it's amazing the condition it's in,,,,see people,,take care of your stuff for the next generation,,js..love the channel,,sorry for the rant lol..🤓💯🇺🇲🤘
a good friends mom and dad bought one new and I got to see it but never got a ride in it as it was his moms car LOL but yes they were / ARE awesome fast cars of the time and just look amazing also it to me sounds like allot of injector noise
Hey guys Robert said he’s running a little late. He’s at the bank with me. He just sold the car to me😂 Thanks for getting it started. You guys are so awesome. You guys can get anything running.
Noise sounds like a lazy lifter, oil change first and gentle running... Only thing wrong with this 300Z TT, is lack of a third pedal and proper gearbox. GoPro 'Sessions' in hand - how to make a profit, offer them for sale to your local FPV Racing Drone folk. The Sessions are highly desired for cameras to put on top of the drones.
I've had a couple 280 Z's. I'm a Z Guy to. Always wanted a 300Z with twin turbos. They always call them Poor Man's vette. But I don't know why but I always thought they were more sexier then some vettes. And they are quick. Hopefully I can find one in my budget. That z-car. Definitely found a great home. Can't wait to watch more videos on it. Thank you so much for the great content. You two are truly blessed. Thank you again and can't wait to see the end result of her. And flying down the road.
I only have experience in the non turbo model in Australia. In the early naughties, this car was unusual, for most new cars at that time in that it was a DRIVERS CAR .. 💯 loved to be driven hard .. few cars since match this vehicle today for the money !
Good video, one thing on the car,all rubber seals you need to treat them now it’s being exposed to elements again.just all seats ,t tops, door rubbers and all 👍👍👍😎😎😎
Nice Z !! Im sure Robert is happy to know his car is in good hands... one day we all have to let go of our cars or other prized possessions and hopefully we are as lucky as Robert... plus Finley approves lol
My parents always had Datsun cars up until I left home and never had an issue with any of them, I’ve had a couple in my adult years so the are close to my heart. I had an Olds Cutlass with T-tops, so the first thing I would have done before driving that beauty was pop those tops of and cruise. Great car!!
I’ve had my Z32 for 22 years; garage kept and looks like glass. I get an adrenaline dump every time I drive it. Chipped, staggered wheels, down pipes, test pipes, and greedy SP2 exhaust. Anything and everything is done and runs like a jewel.
Had a 91 when I was younger.. would eat stock mustang 5..0 all day long!!! You brought a lot of memories back pulling that car out....did you guys get storage covers for the t tops 2?????
Congrats guys! I worked on those at Nissan for years. I will be glad to answer any questions you might have. Scott Yes the glove box latch was an issue on those cars.
Talk about chasing a dream for years. So glad to see something grow from that dream. Just a little bit of elbow grease and you'll see... back in tip-top shape. Great video! Thank you for sharing your find.
Dannnng she’s so clean under all that dirt! 😂 You can use an ozone generator inside to kill any mold spores or anything else if you’re interested, they’re cheap and easy to use!
