Rahul Sharma Yes! The Plainfield Walmart was a great store this is my favorite Walmart location and it’s sad that is closing on Friday March 10th I’ve visited this Walmart in Plainfield since 2018
@@freddyflores9958 I'm Soo Sorry, it's so SAD, I remember way back when Pharmacies were privately owned, Drug Stores, the big stores like Safeway and RiteAid started having Groceries, Paper items, all the Private Drug stores had to close Down 😥😥 Patty Sue in MARYLAND
well may be you can see the opportunity to filled the gap left by this store but people want cheap and convinient and this why the economy is what it is and fueling china power grab because people dont want to consume from small mom and pap store.
Well, actions have consequences. When crime is encouraged and unpunished, stores will close due to shoplifting. Walmart is not in the business of charity but rather a for profit institution.
I hope all politicians take note. Their lax policy on crime has created a lot of business closings. You should have prosecuted all the shoplifters and looters. More businesses will close and it is your fault. Weak prosecutors with their dem tard /socialist thinking, that people shouldn't have a bail.
When the store is overridden with boosters, cattle rustlers, and shop lifters, that are encouraged by no prosecution, stores lose money. When business lose money they close, it's not calculus it's basic arithmetic.
claims of shop lifting is huge many many millions are being taken and under performing in the stores, many employees not doing their jobs.. get a pay check to do nothing and let alone the shoplifting.. very sad!!! rough neighborhoods primary reason.. too much crime..
this has nothing to do with theft, they are closing near 1000 stores this year, has to do with more people ordering online. There are plans for new non stores where you just pickup your items but no need for a giant store anymore. Also Plainfield is an upper-class white town not a place where theft is rampant so your ignorant comment shows a lot of where you get your information, very telling.
they would have to commute to here, in a upper class white town not a crime filled area. Is closing cause more orders are being done on line these days so they are closing around 1000 stores
Thank you for this video. I traveled to this store to help out many times and interviewed for my first manager position while in this store. I almost didn't want to watch it, but thank you for bringing back my memories.
There's been a trend in retail to more self-checkouts and fewer staff, including security staff. That reduces security and the shop-lifters get emboldened by that, and by liberal 'prosecution' policies. Sad to see the impact that it will have on a lot of lower income folk.
3/12/23: 😥So SAD to see an Empty Wal-MART, shutting down, which Soo many rely on for their weekly, seasonal, monthly needs. I've seen it too many times, it's the people, employees, courts, Gov't which make this happen, Cops and laws aren't strict enough. Layoffs by the masses, more people Unemployed😥 I'm sorry WAL-MART, you're closing Down. So the new scam is, People in Maryland order from Amazon and then claim item stolen such as Cell Phones, electronics and instantly get credit back to their Debit/Credit, Amazon Account. Patty Sue in MARYLAND
How about two huge revolving doors that when a stolen item sounds the alarm on the first one the second one locks up not allowing the theif to exit. They could be arrested and thats that.
Some employees will have 2 choices to find a new job or still work at Walmart but be transferred to another location some employees will lose their jobs but however they can be transferred to another Walmart store it’s gonna be sad that the Plainfield Walmart is going to be gone
I have heard people say it's because of the " crime & trash " migrating there from Chicago . But not necessarily my opinion . Just an observation . I hope all the employees get another job . 😢
@@jreifsnyder2225 Then they should stop firing security and cashiers if they want to make money. And lobby the state governments not to be lax on criminals. Something more is going on here.
when a company such as walmart makes near 3/4 of a trillion dollars gross wise and then pays it bills.. employees and taxes and vendors of the item and markets whom they sell for.. their is still a lot of money left.. but for the millions of dollars in the construction and purchases to even set up these stores there is a lot of money spent.. before it even opens.. each store from my understand carries and estimated 10 million dollars worth of revenue with all items being accounted for that is not only insurance and taxes and power bill and utilities.. all of the stuff most have no clue what it takes to run these stores. tons of money. just to open and run one of them.. then the theft.. and internal theft.. which is a primary reason for the issues most of the walmarts have today.. so its a big of a mix.. some of them under perform the work.. and want to get a pay check for nothing..its times to clean them up.. and move on.. theft is a big problem.. and when the vendor wants their money from their sales and they dont get it. it causes a lot of problems..
Nobody shops at Wal Mart because they like the atmosphere they shop at Wal Mart because they like their price point, not on everything but most things. If Wal Mart has a theft issue that's reducing their profit margins then change how the store operates. A no nonsense approach is not letting customers in the store in the first place, customer orders would be electronically entered into electronoic terminals at the entrances by the customer and paid for at the same time they place their orders, then store order pickers would pick their orders and bring them to a pick up point. Clothing would be chosen one item at a time from electronic order guides and brought to a supervised fitting area to try on. An inefficient nightmare with no theft. Keep their price point as low as it is now and they'll all come back.
@@HonorableGamer51 yes that is true A waste of millions of dollars to remodel a store and now it’s going to miss out all of the features what Walmart is bringing to all of its stores but they’re shopping carts, their signs and everything. They moved it to the Joliet Walmart because that Walmart was getting remodeled in 2023 as well just 2 months after they shut down the Plainfield Walmart
Do not know if you are aware but Walmart is continuously seeking new products, especially in food. They are small business, family, and mom & pop operations . So these store closings will hurt them also,, not just a community.
@@SandraGarcia-ho4lb My dear I’m no fan of Walmart but this I will say. When Mr Sam was alive Walmart was a reputable business, when he passed the younger generation had other ideas and the attitude became more dictatorial . In the mid to late 90’s a Walmart in Guyman, Oklahoma was closed after Walmart had destroyed every small business in that town. The last time I was in Guymon, the Indian Affairs office was all that was open...The residents were told if they wanted to shop Walmart, they would have to drive 150 miles into Texas in order to do so, that’s 150 miles one way....So much for helping their customer and small business.
@@NBZW The Mom and Pop stores couldn't withstand all this theft anyway - they would be gone too - you do know that out of 195 countries in the world - number 1 being the safest country, the US comes in at 129 so I wouldn't expect much from America
There are 2 Walmarts closing in Portland Oregon they have been open less then 20 years did they just get to big or what I don't shop there much and I live in Arkansas I have never liked Walmarts I grow up with Fred Meyers in Portland
@@anthonylagunas6737 how many Walmart are closing because or businesses please let me know here we have a choice nothing is forced on us or against us look at democrats states killing crime we have it but not as bad as democrats states look like jungles lol
It’s sad that the thugs and criminals have forced Walmart…who I don’t particularly like myself….to leave these areas. So many people losing their jobs because idiots don’t care about anyone but themselves! So now…moms, dads, grandparents are going to have to travel to buy groceries! Good job with that Defund the Police movement and prosecutors/judges that just keep letting them off.
