Funfact: Originally the song didn't go "Would you walk out on me" but "Would you throw tomatos at me" but they changed it because Ringo was concerned that people would actually throw tomatoes at him if the Beatles decided to go on tour again. You gotta love how innocent Ringo is!
Unfortunately our culture has lost the concept of heaven and the assumption is made that every famous person who has died, whom we like, is surely in heaven. It’s simply not true, and it’s a very narrow road into heaven.
Everybody makes fun of Ringo, but anybody with knowledge knows when the Beatles signed him he was one of THE most sought after drummers. There were 4 geniuses in one band. There will NEVER be another like them. Ever.
@@buildtalibanbackbetter5923 to who? - you and I and true Beatles fanatics, but to the basic fan base you'll get "John and Paul were geniuses" and occassionally George will be thrown in, but rarely, if ever, are you gonna hear, "Ringo was a genius". When asked about the Beatles and you mention Ringo people just laugh. Great drummer, but I really don't think the guy who only wrote two Beatles songs really puts him in the same league as the other 3.
Imagine this. You’re in the best band of all time. In the 60s. John and Paul are already musical legends. George too is widely acknowledged too as a great musician. John and Paul write this classic and let Ringo take lead vocals. Imagine being Ringo. Looking around and he has John, Paul and George singing backing vocals for him. It really doesn’t get better than that in his memory bank! ❤❤❤❤
Miley Cyrus...Billie Joel Armstrong...Joan Jett...Beck...Stevie Wonder...Tom Morello...Dave Grohl... now THAT'S a lineup!!! All of these people were at one point in their lives influenced by The Beatles. This is probably the greatest honor they could ever have: sharing a stage with Sir Paul and Sir Richard!
notice that it didn't actual sound all that great? Youve got 20 great individuals trying to sound the best. May as well have been singing happy birthday.
Joan, Miley, and Grohl got drunk and high before this. Grohl doesn't smoke much, so he said he was tripping balls and was trying to hide behind Stevie. Someone grabbed the three of them and said, "need you on stage in 2 mins!" and Grohl was freaking out. Joan definitely looks faded, lol.
Right? I need a visitor's log of everyone who was on stage, i don't recognize them all. But i did see Joe Walsh, Miley Cyrus, Beck, Billy Armstrong, Joan Jett, Dave Grohl, John Legend, Bill Withers, Tom Morello...
@@permafrost0979 Mike was singing and Tres Cool was on drums (probably the slowest beat he has ever played :) ) also Patti Smith was singing along too :)
This makes me sad that we'll never get a full fledged Beatles Reunion. Paul and Ringo even said that a full Beatles Reunion would've happened down the line if John and George was still alive.
They were asked to reunite for the boat people and John was the lone holdout. However, just before John died, a very close friend of all the Beatles asked them to reunite on film for a Beatles Documentary. They all agreed including John Lennon! So yes, if alive, they would have reunited. It was a shame. However, their music lives on!
I feel like they would have done something together by the mid 80’s. John and Paul were on good terms. I think John and George had a little riff at the time but nothing that they wouldn’t have been able to get over. Unfortunately, Free as a Bird and Real Love are the last songs we will ever get from all four of them.
@@johnepants Free as a Bird and Real Love were manufactured for Anthology. Yoko and Paul agreed to take Johns tapes from the late 70’s and turn them into songs with the 3 live Beatles and Johns voices pieced together. A fitting tribute however.
@@RONALDB62 you are 100% right. It was the only way to do something that included John Postmortem. Take his unfinished work and make something out of it with the 3 remaining band members.
@@vincentlem2534 Actually the truth is that it was never going to happen! It was Sid Bernstein who approached them all but only John responded after Bernstein put an advert in the New York Times in 1979. McCartney stated that "it was to heavy a responsibility. We (The Beatles) can't save the world". John was initially keen then changed his mind. The documentary you mentioned was "The Long and Winding Road" later called Anthology. It was a Neil Aspinall project started in 1970.
My dad born in 1939. And it's been a few months since he left this world he was a big Beatles fan, he loved the Beatles especially this song because he thought that real friends are always the ones that will grow old by his side just like Paul and Ringo. I grew up listening to the Beatles, I know every album like the back of my hand and I will always love these guys. Thank You Boys.
When they flashed that big pic of the Sgt. Pepper-era lads, a flood of the most pleasant nostalgia washed over me. What I wouldn't give to live one more day in those sweet times...
Seeing old photos of the four of them laughing in the back makes me cry especially with this song Incredible performance no other band can get me feeling this way
This is awesome .. Green Day is my favourite band seeing Billie Joe Armstrong up there singing with the Beatles I thought this was just dope, then seeing Mike Dirnt singing with Mylie it just became even more crazy, and then when I realised Tre Cool was on drums my head exploded ! This was the best youtube suprise ever 🤯
In the decades since they broke up, the Beatles have kind of evolved into a wellspring that nourishes the entire musical landscape. Their songs were formative for nearly all of the Friends who came out on stage to sing with Paul and Ringo (Stevie Wonder, of course, was a contemporary, so in his case it's more greatness acknowledging greatness).
I know it's been a very long time since the Beatles were together. I know that all the musicians on the stage have fond memories of singing this song growing up, (toking up), but with that said, and with the talent that is on that stage, I am not quite sure that Paul and Ringo have yet to grasp the still growing magnitude of what they contributed to music.
I like how Paul McCartney is just standing there playing guitar then out of nowhere people start coming out and singing with Ringo star but Paul's like wow
This was wonderful to see. I'm now 67. The first that I saw them, was on on the Ed Sullivan Show, I was ten. That sung, I wanna hold your hand . I think the world fell in love with them . John was my favorite. I liked them all. Some of my favorite songs are, tell me why do no reply, Eight Days a week, Help, Just to dance with you, And I love her. Don't let me Fall. Just to name a few. Seeing this video, makes me smile😊
I had forgotten how it was back "in the day", the Ed Sullivan show, all the girls going nuts. Never be another group like the Beatles. So glad I saw the induction and this performance, made you forget about the crap going on today.
Sometimes when you get that many brilliant artists on stage, it sounds like a cacophony, but everyone played their part, no egos, and it sounded great. Pretty damn great line up there.
in 5th grade sitting around the library round table with other kids listening to this song, we were supposed to be doing social studies, 55 years ago, oh how the world has changed
I’ve never ever seen this. I like the idea behind this presentation. Using the power and stamina of this age old classic and doing it in a way so that the lyrics “get by with alittle help from my friends” is literally presented by the music of the next generation (as per all the artists singing along on stage) was just so sweet.
"BEATLES FOREVER", 4 EVER IN MY HEART!! I LOVE ALL OF THEM - EACH SONG, EACH CHORD, EACH SMILE, EACH NOTE, EACH MINUTE, EACH LOOK - DIFFICULT EXPLAIN TO THOSE DON'T UNDERSTAND 💙💙💙💙 !!!!!!!
