On my original DeathAdder elite the rubberized side came off in a heated gaming session, gluing my thumb onto the mouse. RIP, never going razer again, once this one breaks.
@@adriano760 i think the joke was in response to the title, Viper Mini's been out for a while and Linus now only says "finally something for my small hands!"
@@realghostxd lol it was other way around for me, got mm710 first ant it was too wide for me. Also, i keep hitting the back side button accidentally. I like the viper mini shape better
Linus: "Companies should be consistent" Also Linus: "I need small mice because I have small hands, but I also want a water bottle I can barely hold on to." :)
These cables have become standard on any new fps mouse, they reduce cable drag alot and make it really difficult to push against your cable. Its better in every way over your conventional rubber cable.
Somehow the pink on this just doesn't pop enough for me, and the design looks a bit iffy with it. Normally I prefer pink with tons of stuff. I think rather than pink bg and white fg, I'd like white bg and pink fg.
I don't like gaming mouse for that reason. I like wide mouses for my big palms. My favourite of all time was Microsoft Explorer Blue Track. It was the precursor the the M$ Sculpt Ergonomic. Basically the have a huge Orb Ball like shape. img.crazysales.com.au/products_pictures/170/17055_81197_F.jpg - Note the relative scale to USB-A.
@@GreatMCGamer it is a way to small for my hands, and my hands are not even large i have a few friends that have even bigger hands. But i live in giant country of Sweden so i guess that is just how it is
@@SamuraiGuy That'll be interesting. Personally Im a fan of the desk mountain mouse pad they have shown a few times. Hope they come out with a hard pad too as well though.
I'm somewhat interested in this myself actually. I don't have small hands, but I'm a fingertip/claw gripper, and almost all gaming mice seem aimed at palm grip so they're all extremely uncomfortable for me! I loved the CM Xornet II, but they replaced with with the CM Master Mouse which is still nice, but it's a little bigger, so less comfortable for me. My friend used to have a mouse I liked (don't remember the name), but it had a super stiff middle click and I use middle click a lot. So it's not just you small handers that are always forgotten! Us fingertip grippers are always left out too. :(
I like the idea of this for kids and smaller hands. I found myself that the Lancehead is great for smaller hands as well and it is ambidextrous as well.
i dont know i have the V2 version the big one. and the cable is still stuck sometimes behind stuff. even though razer claimed that cant happen. but before this mouse i had the razer deathadder chroma. and yes the cables are really improved.
I liked the size of the Deathadder Chroma/Elite but it is pretty heavy, around 100g. I have the Glorious Model D now and I love how light it is. I still have the Deathadder Elite on my desk but it feels like a brick compared to the Model D! Light weight mice are definitely worth trying!
This year I've tried the Viper, G Pro Wireless, model O, model D and Death Adder V2, and the V2 (full size) is the one that fits me the best. It's durable, accurate, and just light enough.
what he did to that paracord cable sleeve, i cannot unsee. The Mini is also designed for lightweight gaming (current trend), therefore taking the rubber junk off the sides is free weight reduction.
The Basilisk is also a really good choice for small hands :p My hands are tiny and I can actually use the thing without it falling out of my hand all the time lol Granted I still can't use the forward button without straining for it. And the DPI clutch is literally impossible for me to reach without taking my hand entirely off the mouse lmao But still :p
Saw some confusion so here's a quick rundown. optical switches are different to optomagnetic switches. Optical switches like the one razer is using is the same structure as normal switches but the contact points are swapped with light sensors. Thus eliminating unwanted double click. However this does NOT mean it will not wear out. The bending metal plate inside can still easily wear out. The closest thing to an everlasting switch is the optomagnetic switch. Which is a completely different structure
As razers switch design seems to had double click issues pretty quickly when not cleaned on regular base, those optical switches might still solve the main issue a lot of people had with Razer mice. So good for them and good for us.
@@Traumglanz yep. The brand (fuhlen)that made optomagnetic switches is a genius and pretty much solves all the problems with switches , but for some reason doesn't make high end products, they focus on mid-low end and internet cafes. Their best mice has a mere pmw3360 in it
I bought this mouse for my tablet but the slightly smaller size is better at 5f 4 haven't really got big hands this is great and u get stick on grips which make the mouse feel great
@@DravenxEyelessi do agree, i never said anything against that. but i do know what its like to own a business and have extra stock. we wouldnt have sales otherwise ;)
Honestly the absence of that rubberized soft coating can turn into an advantage in the long run, since it tends to perish with age (it 'melts' and turns all sticky and gross). I've recently put my old original MX518 back in use when my G500s failed (needs a new cable), and I've had to painstakingly remove the coating in order to use it.
I wish he did proper reasearch. The cable sleeve is intentionally left very loose to not tighten the cable making it less flexible. You did adress it but after ridiculing it when most users appreciate it ...
Pink probably isn't selling very much because it's not your audience's preferred/favorite color. Great opportunity to get some analytics for tech nerds favorite color!
The Model O- and D- might deserve some love. I have long fingers that need larger gloves and stuff, but enjoy small mice sometimes bcuz I fingertip grip.
I guess the loose sleeve works like this: the braiding gets stuck under something but the cable still moves freely, so it gets stuck but the movement limitation is not as bad as with the competition, like the g502 hero.
Linus I'm 5"8 and have fairly small hands myself, hell my old man always called on me to work on vehicular repairs because of my smaller digits. Personally could careless about razer's mice they lack any "real" distinctive flair. Personally been a extrodinary fan of "Madcatz" X3 & 8+ mice as they allow you to customize the length of the mouse along with a multitude of grip options out of the box, the 8+ also has adjustable weights which was something I *LOVED* about their original Cyborg "RAT 5" mouse back in 2010/11
