As a hairdresser I'd advise re pigmentation before going from blonde to a dark color. That means adding the pigment you lost from bleaching back into the hair. This would be a red or orange color for example. Without doing so the color is going to be very "hollow" meaning it's not going to have alot of depth. And if you're unlucky it can come out discolored. For instance that could happen if you're going for a brown color it can turn green. It's also going to fade a lot faster without the underlying pigmentation. It was smart to only use 10 vol developer though as you're only looking to deposit pigment. I'm only saying this to help so I hope you don't take it as me trying to tell you off. It's your hair of course. I'm actually not totally opposed to people doing some simpler things at home. But like I said just thought I'd offer some advice.❤
thank you!! i actually didn’t know this so this was super informative 🙂 i wish i had added some red/orange prior to the black b/c I definitely noticed how harsh/hollow the dye turned out (whoops) - hopefully next time i’ll do it right haha ❤️
Thanks so much for putting this out here!! I’m dying my plat white hair back to black tonight and so glad I saw your message :) For clarification: should we use permanent orange or temporary as the underlying pigmentation?
It's like you never even dyed your hair crazy colors omg. It looks so healthy and luscious. It def makes you look more youthful by bringing out your skin more 😍 Side note: you might have to dye it again. 1) Since your hair was so light underneath, it's probably gonna fade pretty quick. 2) I can't tell if it's the lighting or not but your roots actually look lighter than the parts you dyed. Idk jw
2 years ago I got done with bleaching my hair so I ended up actually cut it off got a pixie cut and let it grow out and its honesty so nice to see my natural hair color and not have the maintenance or cost of bleaching and dyeing my hair
I’m on that journey now! I’m in the awkward growth stages of a pixie but my natural hair feels so much better and is so much more low maintenance than my long blonde hair was!
@@mybubbles5552 keep at it it's worth the struggle ! if you plan on growing it out the best way I found to not have the mullet look is to keep the hair from the tops of your ears down really short and let the hair on top of your head grown out (like having an undercut) until its longer.
Your hair looks so healthy and luscious already with it being dark! I absolutely am in love with it and it doesn't make you look older, I think it brings a glow to your face! SO CUTE!
I've been dying my hair crazy colors all year and decided to dye it brown last week and it looks sm healthier now! Feels like a relief! Lol anyway, ❤ ur hair it looks so good and healthy!
A volume 10 only partially lifts the cuticle to deposit the color so this will last 4-6 weeks depending on how often you wash it. You have to use a volume 20 or higher to deposit the color deep inside the cuticle/have a permanent color. I work at Sally’s 🤓
Instead of permanently coloring it black, you could have picked some temporary dark brown or burgundy. I think it fades out much nicer. Its also a lot easier to get out if you decide you want to bleach again
Ironic that I got inspired by you and bleached and dyed my hair for the very first time like a month ago. But I know that some day this will also be me :P
After having bleached grey hair for a minute (which requires like the maximum bleaching) I recently turned back to my natural color -dark chestnut- and trying to grow out the extremely damaged bleached parts... I think this looks really good on you!
oh I love it! Literally how does your hair still look so shiny and nice I’m so jealous, if I dyed my hair back dark after all I’ve put it through I think it would look like a bundle of sticks lmao. Also confirmed do love the middle part!
I’m 46 years old and I had long black hair since I was 23 years old and I had balayage hair color since December 2023 and only few weeks I missed my black hair so wanted to color my hair black again . Is it safe just buy hair color so I can do it by myself like you did? You look good btw with black
girllll i thought you would have known to fill your hair with red before adding the black D: the end result looks v cute tho..once it fades im curious to see how it holds up
You're probably not going to see this because it was a month ago but they've already proven that actresses age younger when they go back to their natural color so that's the key looking good
