Just bought the unit. Want it for refrigerator and chest freezer. I have a large gas generator, but I don't start and run it as often as I should. This unit will buy me the time I need to get the generator operational if I have a problem with it starting. Nice safety buffer. I also bought the mini-ice maker and love it. Thanks for the reviews they save a lot of time on deciding what to buy. Keep up the good work and love the current build.

Great review. On a UPS there is not really a switch over as your already running on clean battery power, at least that's the way I understand it. If I could afford one of these I definitely would get one!

Great review. Very nice unit. Pricey, but it's in a top tier. I'll admit I grind my teeth a bit when I hear these things called "solar generators", as if they magically take sunlight and allow you to run things, when the reality is that solar really has very little to do with units like this. Portable power station is a much better description. But that's just my pet peeve. :)

If you are using the unit for an off grid site. Can you have the solar panel hooked to it so it can charge while you are using it. And I love how at the beginning of the video you had that heavy unit setting on your new bar top with no worry. Very well built.

Recently had electrical work on my home and had no power for about five hours. A box like this running just a window AC unit would have been awesome. Gas generators would not work here. One, it would grow legs and walk. Or my neighbors would kill it. And two, gas itself is not allowed in or around the building. Also needed to do soldering wiring work on my truck and there is no practical way to run 120v all the way from my home to where I park. So one of these again would have been great to have.

Have you thought about solar power and powerwalls? About an 8 year payoff and some self sufficiency. If I had the room that you have I would definatly do it. I am moving in the future to have the house and room to do this myself.

Andrew - During recent 5 day outage I realized how important it is for my modem and router to work since my phone goes off my wifi. A small desk fan would have been great. If charged ahead do you think this unit could power modem, router for several days?
@TKCL
@TKCL Год назад
Depending on the size fan, not exactly sure how long. The router and modem would have literally lasted a day or two. You could then recharge this via solar or a gas generator.
@blameShaen
@blameShaen 2 года назад
Well I'm chiming in. I was just curious about your ice fridge and the ability of running multiple fans you have within the freezer. draw of the compressor kicking in along with the power output going to the fans? I'm just curious about that scenario? You made it so it needed to be cold enough to keep your ice from melting and sticking to one another. That would be an interesting test to see what happens with the ice freezer unplugged from the wall for about maybe 2 hours running on your power bank. Will you have hard ice like normal or soft ice showing that the power bank is struggling.
@TKCL
@TKCL 2 года назад
It run it no problem. Actually with a few solar panels and this power supply, I could probably run it forever making almost free ice.

Thanks for video Andrew. So I can leave the unit plugged into a wall and keep my refrigerator freezer on it just in case power goes out or I'm not home and power goes out and I'll keep it running. Does it hurt the unit to leave it plugged in all the time to the 110 outlet to charge and keep an appliance running. I.E 24/7
@TKCL
@TKCL 2 года назад
If it truly functions as a UPS it shouldn't matter leaving it plugged in because it's passing through, not discharging and recharging.
@TKCL
@TKCL 2 года назад
I'm not sure if there is a wattage maximum for the ups feature or if it can trigger over on a true 2000 watts. I'll need to do some further testing. Regardless a refrigerator does not pull anywhere near that much wattage.

@TKCL
@TKCL 2 года назад
This is a 2000 watt hour unit. That means a 1500 watt heater would only run a little over an hour on high. Low is usually 600-750 watts and would extend runtime to over 2-3 hours. Heating elements are some of the hardest drawing devices.

21:28 I wouldn't call a UPS feature an "extra" awesome feature, it's a "killer feature." A killer feature is a technical term, for a feature that stands on its own, to single handled justify the purchase of a product. You could easily spend over $1,000 on just a UPS, and it wouldn't have the run time this has, it wouldn't have an LFP battery (lead acid), it wouldn't have any of the extras this has going for it as a PPS.

Two questions one is can you add extra battery capacity two can you pair it with a second unit for true north American 120 240.volts split phase power I'm looking for a unit to go off grid solar something I can start low maybe have to only run an item or two at once then later add more battery capacity and finally add a second unit for for 2/120 volt legs with 240.volts between them I can buy a gas generator that outputs 120//240.volts for a reasonable amount I know and expect this unit to cost more than a gas generator but would eventually like to go solar someday maybe someone will bring out a unit that will meet all users needs maybe a unit that has basic features and is able to add extra items for example bring out a unit with just the basic battery and port's for other item's so I'f you are using it for off grid you would need a 120 volts pure sine wave inverter and a good mppt solar charge controller all items can have a port built-in to the unit so you order it with what you need a ups is great for someone with the power lines but for someone off grid or using it for camping they may not need that ability same thing with the usb if you're putting it by your panel box you probably won't be going to the unit to charge your phone but likewise if you are planning to use it for a full-time power supply it would be handy to have 120//240 capacity to be able to start with 120 volts 2000 watts capacity and later plug in a second 120 volt 2000 watt inverter to have 240 volts it would give you 4000 watts between the two legs and 240.volts between them that would truly be a universal north American unit able to meet the need of RVER those who want backup power and those who want to go solar off grid just order the features you need and can afford then as your budget will allow add features to your needs and if your needs change add features to meet your new needs if you need more than the basic watt hour capacity add more Rather then like all units out there your needs charge and you need to buy another expensive unit
