After bragging about having no squeeks or sounds in my truck i heard something coming from the drivers window. turns out its my steering wheel controls (left side 4way control) rattling against the center button. Was relieved it wasnt the window. Glad you found the problem!
a pulley is more likely to make intermittent noise than a belt, but I've seen both. A good move would be to pull the belt and spin the idlers by hand. Could be the added work they do from the supercharger shortened the life of them a bit.
Idler pulley, it’s a really cheap part and easy to change. I have had this noise on my last four tundras and my two Tacoma’s, it’s a known noise like the fan motor.
Often belt squeak can be due to aftermarket low quality belts. They often have less surface area contact with the pulley. Did an aftermarket belt get put on when you had the super charger installed? Also grit gets into the grooves of the pullies especially if the belt starts slipping.
Mine did the same thing and then went away and has not made a sound since all the tundra guys say go with the Goodyear gator belt and it won't never be a problem again
I have the same noise every morning when I start mine it goes away with in 5 min or less it is gone I've had it to the dealership twice and they said no problem but it sounds like a problem every morning when it starts lol
😮 I've had that same exact noise on my 2011 tundra crewmax 5.7. This time, I was deceived about the noise, 😤 my engine blew from internal explosion on the freeway. I'm now purchasing a rebuilt engine for a total of $6800😮😅😂😊 The trucks are still expensive to purchase a used one.
Question, does your Tundra on a long downhill slope when coasting seem to downshift or upshift to help slow you down? I have not experienced this with other automatics and wonder if it’s normal?
@@TundraDude34 sorry to comment on this, I see this is a year old post.. but you literally just commented exactly what happens to my tundra.. only happens once and happens after I first begin driving... I want to fix it!! I will be looking up the Abs self check
Well I just read a brief article about it.. I’m very relieved to not have to worry anymore... I was ready to take it somewhere and have it torn apart.. I’ve never experienced anything like this before with past vehicles so it was unsettling. You are the man thank you
Goodyear Gatorback belts... Best no-squeak belt out there. Can be tough to find in stores but can always get online. Now if it's a pulley issue, that's different!
Most likely a pulley bearing. (1) listen to it as in the video (2) while doing so have someone press the gas, lightly then increase slowly. (3) if it gets louder it’s a bearing. Of course if the belt looks warn out, that can be the issue
Mine squeaks every now and then during cold starts, it’s a very quiet squeak, but once the engine warms up it goes away. But I also do a lot of off-road driving, mud, water, dust. So I figure that’s normal in my case.
@@user-tb7rn1il3q It's not normal, his belt is worn, or the tensioner spring is getting weak or or one of the pulley bearings are worn out like the water pump, thats what it sounds like anyway, cant tell too much from a video.
2:09 That hose is way too close to that supercharger pulley. Get some zip ties and secure both of those hoses. Unfortunately, it sounds like the snout bearings may be going out of the supercharger, may want to contact Magnuson and let them hear an audio clip of it.
Mine is doing the same thing on colder days. Took it to the dealer twice and gave them a few videos of it doing it and they couldn’t recreate it so nothing really happened. Started doing it after about 5000 miles.
Miguel Valdez depends why you would need it. Want speed? Lower mpg. Want power/ get up and go? It’s amazing and kinda worth it. Only feels to have nice power when you’re in high rpm. So it’s up to you what you need it for?
Miguel Valdez yea bro it’s best if you take it in somewhere . Warranties and all you know. These trucks are amazing if only they had that initial take off, right? Good luck
@@jake-qn6zy Let me take a wild guess.... Amsoil? It's expensive as all get out, but worth it. And the noises don't go away so much as become unnoticeable unless you're trying to hear it. Speaking of which, it's time for my Tundra's yearly oil change with it.
My front passenger side parking sensor assistance turns on while I’m driving, took my truck 3 times to the dealership they said nothing is wrong with it, we can recreate the problem bla bla 😒
I fixed mine by just pulling the flog light bezel out the front, reached in and pulled the white clip that holds the sensor in. Moved the sensor around just a little and slid the clip back in. I know there was a tsb on them in the 14 models and it was where they weren’t clipped in correctly at the plant. That’s all I did and it’s never done it again.
