Same here. Imagine paying for a place then having crazy ass rules and people dictating what you may or may not have in your driveway or which color patio furniture you can put out??! lol
Take a pen apart, and take the plastic thing where the ink goes into, empty that and stick it into that vacuum line. Now attach a new piece of vacuum line on that. Should work. It's like a plastic extension.
I could not live anywhere with HOAs... I'm paying my goddamned taxes and its my property... if i wanna build a nuclear sub in my front yard its nobody's business
I'm the same way fucc the HOA . I don't know who even came up with that dumb stuff. It isn't like they give you a house and then you have to go by there rules.
Don't know if you planned on it or not, but you might want to get a new drier. I've always heard once they're open to the atmosphere for a while the stuff inside gets too soaked with moisture to work. Just what I've heard, so wanted bring it up.
Thanks for the info this is new to me. I figured with a full system Evac and recharge when it’s all sealed up would fix that issue but I could be wrong.
Craig once you get all fancy on the AC learning, try sticking a Vintage air kit in your short bed. I have the same chore to reinstall the AC in my 1990 F150, and the summers aint getting any cooler here. we were touching 115 last year here in Canada and it's sticky like hell. Glad to see your doing the AC REINSTALL i see so many people ripping it out and i'm like WHY??!!. Top notch content.
Family goes out of town on Friday. Misses a FedEx delivery so FedEx leaves a slip on the door. Come home on Sunday to find 2 slips on the door. One from FedEx, the other a $50 fine from HOA for leaving notices on the door. Family laughs it off, HOA accrues enough "late fees" to put a lien on the property. Time to start shopping for a new spot, HOA board members generally can't keep friendships other then other HOA members so they have a lot of free time to care too much about how other people live their lives.
HOA_ might your neighbors have complained? Loud revving vehicles, late night work. Really enjoy your videos Craig, much appreciated. Keep up the great work.
Watching your channel reminds me of the movie Christine when Arnie has his car stored at Darnell's. Darnell remarks to his buddies: "...the boy has good hands". You've taken this rough car and shaped it into something special with just your blood and sweat. And mostly at night too 😅 Keep up the good work homie
Your main enemy at all times is moisture. (No hosing anything down) all open ends should be sealed off. You may think a decent evacuation will sort this out but life is easier if you have a clean and dry system. Your fdr (filter/drier/receiver) should be replaced and if the system was on CFCs you will need to flush and change the compressors oil.love you channel.
It looks good I like how you made it clean and not all grease the vacuum line you can put a rubber line over that one and canect them that way with out taking the dash all out
Aye bro I just saw 2 of your videos today since I just bought a fox body last week and i want to learn everything their is to know about them but I’m definitely loving your work and detail keep them fox body videos coming
About the HOA, most states have laws on the books that say if an HOA doesn't enforce a rule/bylaw within a certain amount of time, it becomes unenforceable. Here in Alaska it's two years; might be worth looking up to see what it is for Cali.
Dude the vacuum lines bro. I’ve seen so many nice sets of them. Every single damn time I try and grab them they come apart. They look much better than regular vac line.
I noticed that you still have the original R-12 condenser. That will be pretty lackluster in hot weather at idle using R-134a. R-12 was a much more efficient refrigerant. You will probably want to upgrade that condenser, or use an unorthodox refrigerant, like R-152a, which is computer duster. Look on RU-vid and you will find out more about it. I run it in my 1967 Galaxie. Reach out to me if you want more info. I live in Lemon Grove, so, not far from you.
I’m about to do this to my Foxbody and I’m not looking forward to dropping the dash but I am looking forward to be able to turn the AC on during the hot summer months here in the south.
Bro. I like all your videos they're all interesting and I learn from your videos. I know alot of money goes into making your videos, so I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your skills with us (me). Keep up the great work and God Bless you guys. 🔥💯💪🏼👍👍🙏🙏✌😊✌
I've got an LMR SVE radiator and contour fan on my supercharged 93 Cobra and it stays at temp with the ac running. The important part is the fan controller you use. Check out DCC fan controllers....best I ever used.
Very impressed by your knowledge and craftman ship! You might consider to paint top of your battery black. Leave the decal on. It will look even more clean. Tiny detail, but wll look great, I promise! ☺️
wait, you can get an r-12 system recharged? I was going to upgrade to LMR's R-134A conversion kit because I thought I couldn't get the system on my '92 recharged.
I personally can't wait to see cars worked. But I TOTALLY understand prices. I have a 42000 miles all original 65 fairlane 500 and an 83 dodge d150 I put a big block in
I'm an HVAC/R tech, several things to say here. Always, ALWAYS buy a new filter/dryer. You don't know what kind of contaminates or moisture have gotten into the system. Second, never, NEVER allow moisture to get into the system. Hosing down the condenser and spraying the compressor with water based cleaners without sealing them is one of the quickest ways I can think of to destroy your system. Be sure to tell the shop you take it to what you did, they should leave it on the vacuum pump overnight, at least, to remove any and all moisture. Water does not compress and will ruin the valves in your compressor. Hopefully you get away with it and don't end up replacing everything.
that is rad you have foxbodys in your salvage yards they very rarely pop up in our yards (Illinois) and when they do you better get there fast or it will be striped
Can't you fix the vacuum line without pulling the heater box? The help isle at Sutozone I believe has a rubber boot to connect to plastic vacuum lines.
I just did vacuum lines on my 92 Ford F250...and so glad none of the vacuum wires needed to be replaced close to the firewall. They can be a royal pain in the ass. Gotta buy more straight fittings for connecting vacuum lines....and a lot of the sources are way too over-priced (clearly gouging). One of those items where there isn't so much demand....but they're necessary. They're just cheap plastic fittings that shouldn't be selling for more than about .50 each.
To solve your cooling issue on your Fox body go back to a stock fan . The dual fan on radiator might look cool but going back to stock will be a down grade. Also will save you a lot of money in cooling your engine down!
I used to live in an historic district of a town on VA. No HOA, and no off street parking. They were not exactly happy about me doing the top end on an 88 Notch at the curb. LOL eff it, needed to be done! Just clean up your work space, and try to be nice about noise.....
It’s your exhaust noise. Not the work in the driveway. I’d almost guarantee it and they’re using the technicalities of maintenance in public to get back at ya. Fought an HOA for a year for the EXACT same circumstances. They really dont care if you’re working outside as long as there’s not a junkyard in your front yard…it’s the loud exhaust that’s pissing them off.
