Initially I thought “yes that would be cool.” The intention behind this “show” or the creator of this concept though is to throw a song at a musician they’ve *never* heard before, then they have to play along with it and so forth. More than likely Shannon has heard lots of RHCP songs. But who knows? Maybe not all of them… 🤔
After watching so many of those Drumeo videos and watching drummers listen and jot down nots, my respect for Chad went off the scales. I knew he was good, but to watch him on the first listen just go with it is world class.
the fact that he was able to get it so close on a first run with minimal anything was insane. dude definitely brought a new echelon of legendary to the mix
@@MarkoMakela-kk7qf no doubt but even the biggest bands today have had at least one or more musicians that inspired them and that they studied until their fingers bled. Let’s face it, so many musicians from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s set the tone and created close to 99% of the techniques, riffs and so on that you hear today. I’ll place the biggest contribution on those bands from the 60’s to 80’s though. I lived through the 80’s and got to watch it all unfold first hand throughout the years. Unfortunately music is no longer the same as most of it is all digital and electronic. They’ve taken the human aspect out of it. That was why made it so good and personal!
We NEED the whole reaction and your take! I fucking love this song and i love his improv, just purely based on how effortlessly he goes into it. Without a doubt the best Drumeo video of this type. Just because he didn't sit back and study the song like most people had done before. he just listened a bit got the feel and just went for it.
Love seeing how Jared is just vibing along, but Shannon is barely blinking. He's really paying close attention to exactly understand what Chad did to learn from him. Real recognises real.
I'm a fan of Thirty Seconds to Mars and listen to Red Hot Chilli Peppers I seen Chad drumming to the Kill the whole thing it was Amazing. I love Jared and Shannon reaction and I love it❤ Definitely have to collaborate with Chad. Thank you for sharing your reaction ❤
We love you jared but we need more shannon!! This is his time to shine! There are so many people hearing you guys for the first time and it's everywhere because of how awesome Chad Smith is, personality and talent wise. We need a longer reaction video please and thank you.
The immortal brothers. Jared being almost 52 and Shannon 53 and a half. They look like in their 20s or 30s. Can't believe they're in their 50s. Impressive🤙🏻
Shannon has to be feeling similar to when Trent Reznor had to listen to Jonny Cash's version of Hurt. It has to be bittersweet to see your creation being covered and they way you imagined it is just tossed out the window, but at the same time it's in such good hands with an amazing artist that you have to appreciate what an incredible version of it it is.
Gracias chicos x su reacción, los amo, RHCP es otra de mis bandas favoritas, Chad lo hace excelente!! Shannon puede hacer un dueto de The Kill , seria genial ❤
Absolutely epic!!!! The Kill is one of My all time favorite songs ,top 10!!! Love TSTM!! Jared n Shannon absolutely rippin ..Please play the full version@next show in NY!!
I can't help but think that Shannon was floating on a cloud of excitement and honor watching someone she probably considered her musical hero perform his part in the song.
Jared heard his own voice, and tuned out everything else after that lol. This is the weirdest combo of one not reacting at all and the other not even listening so he can get off on himself lol.
Chad did great, I've been hearing a lot of people talking about this since he did it. I even heard people talking about it on the radio a couple days ago.
Unfortunately you're wrong, both are amazing drummers, but Chad needs a little respect from new Gen. Or do you really believe that 30 secs doesn't love chili peppers? It's a school, the base, but it's too much for a non musician understanding
It was so good to watch him play this without knowing the drums and mirror it just based on the music. It was like a masterclass in drumming without knowing the beat.
I don’t even understand how he managed to play what he did 30s into hearing the song for the first time cause at least from my perspective it was flawless. I may even prefer it to the actual drum track. And the original is great. But to improv a new song in realtime and somehow actually hit every transition and get the right feel and everything the dude is a straight up drumming god. I thought the Metallica guy who’s name I’ve forgotten was impressive, but Chad was just next level, didn’t even need to listen through the whole song first, and unlike many of the drummers on here playing music that isn’t their style, he seems to get into it whatever it is. I feel like he could figure out a way to rock out even on classical music. Or children’s songs… then switch to like some reggaeton then country then jazz and so on and he would get into every song. It’s just so clear he’s truly having fun and loves music just as a whole, not any one type or genre, he just likes to play.
