That's because most people don't know how to practice effectively: knowing how to breakdown complex ideas into easier to digest concepts, and the ability to focus on problems, shift attention to a knew problem and refocus, etc. These are all learned skills that people need to be taught. I don't think many teachers teach their students how to properly practice.
Like the analytic play of her. She knows every second what she is doing. The lessons are sometimes quite difficult to follow these high level technical play, but so what ,, it’s her,, 😌

She played it exactly the same way at the competition. I think she's gotta do it differently each time. After all, it's jazz. I guess because she's young, it's all about emulating the style, but it's jazz. The whole point is to play an old tune so that it sounds different. If you don't do that, then it's just technique and no soul. I still love her playing though and hopefully expect her to expand her notion of what it is to play in this exceedingly dynamic style.
