Finally Kubo Reveals Isane's Shikai Ability | Possible Bankai Reveal in Hell Arc?

@@ektran4205 Unohana was Captain of the 4th Division long before Isane graduated - probably centuries before Isane was even born. Unohana's previous Lieutenant in Turn Back the Pendulum was Seinosuke Yamada (Hanataro's older brother) and I would be surprised if she didn't have at least one Lieutenant before him.

All the Lts were being trained to gain bankai back when aizen was the main threat.

Let's not forget that, although Unohana's true nature was that of a sadistic killer, squad 4's purpose is still to be a medic and healing squad. Unohana would have trained Isane to be the captain of squad 4, she would not have trained her to necessarily be her replacement as she did Kenpachi. When you consider that although Unohana had masterful healing abilities taught to her by the royal palace it was all a facade put up after renouncing her title of Kenpachi, and the fact that up until this point she was the original and only captain of Squad 4, Isane is in many ways the first ever *real* captain of Squad 4. One who embodies in earnest both its purpose and ideals.

@@King_Douzer4 That would be cool, but it's probably more simple like icing up wounds to stop bleeding. Ice will heal the wound type thing. Although Kubo can be pretty creative with his zanpakuto ideas, so we'll see what he has in mind

@@obrians-brown1307Cause it’s not mentioned that it’s only FOR healing? Healing might be an off-set of her various Shikai techniques (now with a Bankai’s cataclysmic effect).

I mean suspended animation sounds cool, but that is very similar to what Rukia does to herself.... basically "killing" herself by stopping all metabolic processes in her body. Rukia zanpaktou abilities revolves around cold, not ice, and her zanpaktou would probably be very multi faceted. I guess Isane could have something like that. Where her role in Squad 4 was to preserve dead bodies and keep them from rotting and preventing further deterioration of wounded individuals through some form of cryogenics I guess where Rukia, zanpaktou focuses mainly on herself, Isane own focuses on others in contrast. There is one final aspect to coldness that can be insanely powerful if Isane has it- and that is the slowing down of molecules- Isane could have powers that could mimic slowing down of time through molecular deceleration- even if it is only perceptually by slowing down the molecular motion in a person's brain- making it seem like time has slowed down.

here's a theory I made up ...its a offensive/defensive bankai, like Unohana but with ice. Isane covers the battle ground with an icy mist/fog. This is where the defense comes into play. This mist/fog makes it hard for people around her to see (yes, even her comrades) but lets say her comrades are hurt, the mist has a healing affect, so her and her comrades are healing while fighting but as for the villain's, if they breathe it in, they are hurt by the mist. It starts to freeze their insides at a fast rate, they slow down their fighting and before you know it, theyre frozen solid and are shattered by their opponent...basically she can control who gets healed or frozen

4th has nothing to do with Kenpachi. Unohana was an outlier in that squad. It wouldn't make any sense for anyone else in the squad to be like kenpachi.

I agree. It would be such a nice thing if everyone gets hopeless until Squad 4 enters the battlefield and turns the tide not because they were fierce fighters but because no one dies or gets hurt on their watch.

Hard to tell, she was the last to chase after Abarai, but first to show her shikai against Ichigo then ran at aizen and ichimaru, and attempted the same to Rudbornn.

Not necessarily. Isane is hasty and compulsive. Unohana always had to keep her grounded so she can focus on her task at hand.
