Hey y'all! Me and Devin are back with another taste-testing video! Baby Mav decided he wanted to come along on the journey as well! Today we will be tasting JACKFRUIT! If you've been following me on my social media accounts, then you know that I've been searching everywhere for this fruit; well I finally got my hands on it and today you get to see us try it for the 1st time!

We eat this all the time in the Caribbean and we actually call it "breadnut" in Dominica. .. We mostly let fruit dry and fall from the tree then cook the seed inside.. glad you enjoyed it

My toddler just tried Jackfruit for the first time and she loves it😍 one of my favourites as well, we also make vegan ice cream with it at home 😊😊😊 love from India!

In Bangladesh we call it "kathal" and people love this fruit and buy it like crazy during the season....it costs around $2-$3 only ...also we use the jackfruit seeds in various dishes ...it literally tastes like a harder version of almonds ....also much love for such a cute video❤❤❤❤❤

Here in the Philippines, there is a variety of fruit we call Marang which is like the cross between Durian and Jackfruit. It is also smelly and taste a bit like durian but the peal is similar to jackfruit.

Grew up with the tree in my yard in Jamaica 🇯🇲 it yum after you take the seeds out you have a bowl of lightly salted water then you just dip in a piece before you eat it the salt and sweet is great and I think it helps with the staining 💕💕💕💕

Our second jackfruit was moldy on the outside in places. But the fruit was perfectly fine.

I don't think I ever saw a RU-vid video that made me smile more. Thank you for posting. I asked my 8 y.o. son today, is there anything you have wanted to try that you haven't so far? He said Jackfruit, and I was like oh my god! Really!? I'm afraid and that huge fruit is a bid commitment (money and tme). Let's RU-vid it.....We are going to try it. Baby smile approved!!!

Jackfruit is great. Eat it all the time. Im from Jamaica. Never ate the seeds though. Im editing as the video goes along. I eat just like u just did. I dont dont do anything but cut a peice and peal them out n then eat it

Jackfruit is an exotic fruit and one of the reasons why it’s so hard to really come up with what’s close to it in taste. I grew up eating Jackfruit and it’s a favorite. The seeds can be roasted or boiled and does taste like chestnuts. Love, love, love Jackfruit😊😊

Try this: Egg wrap some bananas, jackfruit and brown sugar then roll it to brown sugar. Fry then sprinkle some sesame seeds. Now you have "turon" a popular snack in the Philippines.

I live in Hawaii where jackfruit grows. Unripe jackfruit is the meat substitute. It's not sweet and has a meat-like texture when cooked. It goes well with barbeque sauce. It's also a PITA to cut what with all the latex gumming everything up. Ripe jackfruit is sweet and has a softer texture. She's right to point out that it tastes like Juicy Fruit as jackfruit is the main flavor in Juicy Fruit gum.

Try pressure cooking the seeds in salt water till they get soft and they tasteeeee amazingggggggggg and damn healthy

Just tried it yesterday... and I boild the seeds... yep like a pungent potato... but you keep eating it. I like the fruit raw, mine wasn't too sweet, but it did work my tummy. I also tried a recipe... barbeque pulled jackfruit and it was yummy sweet and tasty. The texture is meaty and I also thought it was an amazingly unusual texture... and it's good for you! ENJOY... oh you can also freeze it, so I will also try it in a smoothie!

Here in Reunion Island jackfruit is a current fruit . We have jackfruit everywhere ☺ and I love it !! it's so good and sweet but you should pay attention when you cut this because it's sticky 😒

There are actually two types of jack-fruit- one juicy and another crunchy. You had the crunchy one. The juicy one is sweeter, softer and obviously juicier. I like the texture of the crunchy one actually. The juicy type is good for smoothie and cakes. The seeds can be cooked as a curry with other vegetables and/ or fish. You can also boil and mash them with fries onions, oil, garlic and green chili.

In Kerala, jackfruit is called 'chacka'. And yes, it's sweet despite the smell

It was first found in Kerala, (India )named chakka. In 1498 Portuguese came and called it jakka later it became jackfruit. In 1678 a foreign writer Henrik vanreed in his book 'Horthus malabaricus' mentioned the fruit (volume 3,page 17 to 21)

Simmer in barbecue sauce and onions and serve like you would pulled pork. Ex, serve with Cole slaw and on a bun.

I love your family and Mav is a perfect blend of both of you. Y’all are beautiful and so hilarious and you seem like amazing parents. I love the reaction and food videos! Film More more moreeee please. I’m actually eating a BBQ Jackfruit sandwich for lunch today with protein chips. I’ve been vegan two months and I do use it as a meat like substitute but I always buy it already cut cause that fruit looks intimidating.

It’s a popular Jamaican fruit. I love it and it’s eaten just the way you’ve done it. The messy part is the stain but your neat tricks saved you. Good to see Mav eating it up.

The seed can be cooked... But there is a hard covering around it that almost feels like a plastic coating.... So be careful to remove that before eating the seed... Especially when giving it to kids.... Also we roast the seeds on charcoal but it makes you fart a lot.... Jackfruits originated in the south western coast of India which is where I am from.... But now it is popular in many tropical places...m

I’ve never had jack fruit not on it’s own or in a smoothie but my step mother is Filipino and brought a bunch of seeds over and we planted. We have 20 sprouted jack fruit trees at the moment so if all goes well I should get to try some

Ive wanted to try jackfruit for awhile but afraid because it looks like an alien pod of some sort lol. I love how the taste went from chestnuts, to bananas, mango, cantelope, banana peel, to juicy fruit gum lol! I want to try to see how all those flavors taste mixed together! 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for sharing! The kind we have here are much more gooey, soft n juicy when they r ripe. They r sweet n the smell is almost bubble-gummy. And yeah kids love it. Just thought i'll share cos its in season right now 🙌

I just ate a jackfruit ball thing my grandad made and its made from coconut and coconut sugar and jackfruit and stuff, and i am like 8 meters away from it. i picked it the other day with my family and the one i have is about 1m long, and half a meter wide. i live in australia so they grow here...

Put it in a container, cover it then let it cool in the refrigerator for 12 hrs.. it will taste so juicy and yummy trust me!

The jackfruit I know is slightly stringy but soft like mango, and sweet enough to give a big man a sugar rush. Lucky me that it doesn't cost even 3USD where I live :3

Not all West Indies eat Jackfruit.. i went to a agricultural tec exhibit in my home country Trinidad and saw that for the first time lol. But we do know of Breadfruit tho.. and I was informed that Jackfruit and Breadfruit are from the same species..so yah. I need sone Jamaican friends to bring some Jackfruit for me😭

I've research it, Never eaten any. However, there something called a breadfruit. They're almost the same except breadfruit can grow easier. Doesn't need much water or good soil. I'm convinced it could turn world hunger around, 4 the better. Meat texture (the meat part is supose 2 be better the jackdfruit) even the potato like parts & u can't 4get the desert. Protien, vitamins it may not seem so but there is water with-in. Like most fruits it will help stay hydrated with no contamination.

Just a quick note for safety-- Never, never, never cut something with a part of your body in the path of a knife blade. That knife could slip in an instant and ruin your day!

It’s juicy, watery, slippery,smooth and very sweet in India 🇮🇳 i can eat the whole fruit and the seeds too cause I love it if it’s crunchy and not juicy than maybe what you had wasn’t the original one tbh it’s sweeter than any mangoes or bananas it’s different jackfruit has its own taste You will know it when you will have it in India 🇮🇳

I’m from Bangladesh and jackfruit is our national fruit. I eat since childhood, so yummy and sweet. But most of videos in youtube I have seen that it’s not fully ripe including your. Would be more soften and juicy!!!

You dont have to wear gloves or oil get your hands all sticky and then wash your hands with baby power it takes the sap right off without water and oily hands.
