@@jeffblackard9753 our guys merely dabble in freestyle and greco after spending 99% of their lives wrestling top & bottom, and american folkstyle wrestling has proven to be critical for MMA because of top/bottom whereas international style wrestling is completely useless in those positions for MMA so USA wrestling is retroactively superier, medals don't tell the whole story

The point I was / am making is that American with all our resources has often lagged significantly behind in regards to global wrestling when it comes to said nations as Russia/ Iran and Cuba. And that is a shame. As far as mma goes. I’m not a fan BUT would argue that wrestling is the most critical skill for the most successful mma fighters and I believe nurgemmadov think I spelled that right is the best example BUT goes back to my point that a land with nothing Dagestan prepares the best wrestlers on earth right now. A lot of which become mma fighters.
