For years I scoured the internet for a reference track leak of Kanye doing a demo for this, this song has one of the most interesting backstories.... was an 808s & Heartbreak session left on the cutting floor, Kanye then took it to Rihanna thinking she'd sound good on it, she turned it down, Drake heard it and wanted it instantly. It became his then highest charting single in the US and UK, and the highest charting single off his debut album. I'm so so happy that Kanye finally acknowledged the song, imo it's one of his most interesting creations from that 808s era. Such a good melody
@@detnemt9571 best I ever had was out like a year before the album though, the song was huge but had no staying power. It was a song pandering to his female fans, it didn’t get the ears of pop music. Find your love was the first Drake song I respected (I liked some songs like uptown and some of the features) it’s incredibly interesting Kanye remixed this song. He gave drake a hit when drake needed a hit & he mixed the chorus horribly on purpose 😂 if that didn’t explain Kanye perfectly idk what would lol
saw this live with my girlfriend, a memory I’ll never forget, thank you Kanye for bringing us together for such a special night. Truly the greatest artist of his time, if not all time.
If he went to the studio and recorded a polished studio recording of this....sheesh. It's always incredibly interesting listening to the original songwriter's take on their creation.
Imagine being Drake and seeing the man you idolized your whole life is performing one of your songs in front of that many people (even if it was Kanye that wrote it) Man, that's gotta be a magical feeling
@@lofer9138 negative. There’s an interview with Kanye where he said he played the beat Drake and he thought Drake was gonna rap. He was surprised when he started singing.
3:40 if you listen you hear drake encouraging Kanye. Crazy to believe they were sworn enemies not too long ago . Glad they put ish aside and did this cus the two versions of the songs they singing of each other’s is fire
I think giving it to drake was the right option, didn’t really fit 808s imo. Idrk, but either way it’s a great song and would’ve been a great song either way
@@willcarroll9762 kinda dose imo especially the mind state he was in when he made 808s loss mom +gf probably would've been a good ending song if he didnt say what he said in coldest winter however...pragmatically speaking drake was a better choice
The ending just shows as crazy as Kanye may be at times it just goes to show he really loves Kim. And not this fake ass Hollywood love either. He love, LOVES that woman. I hope they both find piece, happiness and true love whether that be together, single or with other people.
I was distraught when this released and I had no idea it was even going on😭😭 I vowed I wouldn’t miss the next Kanye show and started watching his IG. Next show was DONDA in Miami and I jumped up and went by myself (from TN)💟 still wish they would get together and do this again.
Man this is so sad to watch rn. It really felt like things were turning around for Kanye and he had officially made a comeback. The iconic Donda rollout with three listening parties and the album being changed each time, Donda actually being a good album and the first project that felt "complete" since Yeezus, and then to top it all off, Drake and Kanye made up to put on one of the most legendary live concerts of all time. It's a shame everything was downhill from here. You couldn't even pay me to go to one of his concerts now.
Besides your last take id go to one of his concerts still it does suck drake dissed him again n mainstream media dosent like him at all he dosent feel underground id say Rn but he feels very shuned for having unique views on life I'll fw ye FOREVER tho
@@jeffstock5296 if he did write it I’m glad he gave it to drake bc his vocals sound awful on this ngl idk why ppl gassing it but I will say it’s beautiful that they ended the beef and are paying respects to each other
The songs are fire but we need a round of aplause for the visual also. Neat, clean and minimalist. All that layered with a "movie grain texture" . That's Kanye.
Drake has the better vocals to sing this song but Kanye really brings the raw emotion behind the lyrics, I can imagine it now having this song on the 808 tracklist, it would just make sense.
Not gonna lie, the entire time I was watching this I kept getting this eerie feeling like this feels like a going away concert???? Like one big goodbye? Idk... But let's keep Kanye in prayer. All of us.
now that I know this was supposed to be on 808s and Heartbreakers I can definitely hear it. it would've fit right in with all the other songs on that album and I love kanye's voice on this
Never saw this video before. I knew Kanye wrote this song for Drake and I was idealizing how it would sound like with Kanye's voice then intentionally searched for it. Crazy!!!
