Everything except the back lights was cutting out. That circuit must use the second ground wire or is ground controlled by the BCM, I'll have to check to see it's operation. If just the information display or odometer is going out the problem is a group of seven resistors on the cluster circuit board that have corroded. They can easily be resoldered but you have to disassemble the cluster to access them.
Great find drgreasybob...Was that just the display cutting out? was the rest of the cluster still operable? I ask because its common to see the display out on these but the rest still working.
Hey I got a wiring harness from the junkyard that come off a 1990 4x4 for my Chevy truck everything is exactly the same except for the plug that plugs into insterment cluster can anybody help me out and give me some kinda ideal what I can do about this situation I'm in ? I greatfully appreciate you.
