1985 is a copper penny, i think we had copper pennies in canada untill 1996 i think, then it turned to zinc for a couple years, and then it could be either zinc or steel after that, both were minted
I’ve found many older pennies from Canada before Elizabeth, KG-V but it’s been a while. One of my favorite Canadian coin finds is a Bank of Montreal half-penny token from 1843. Thanks for checking in.😊
