In a world where differences often divide us, it's important to find common ground and build bridges between communities of faith. Thank you to ‪@mpac‬ and Define American for bringing us together!

In this video, we bring together myself (a Bible believing Christian) and my friend Tasneem (a Muslim, who also has a youtube channel linked below!) to engage in a conversation about our unique faiths. Through open and honest dialogue, we explore the similarities and differences between Islam and Christianity, and share our personal experiences of how our faith has shaped our lives.
This dialogue isn't just about theology and doctrine, but also about how these two friends navigate relationships, community, and the challenges of living out their faith in a modern world. Whether you're a Muslim, Christian, or just curious about what brings people of different faiths together, this conversation offers a unique perspective on finding common ground in our shared humanity. #muslim #christian #commonground

Hey friends, I really was so thankful that Tasneem was willing to sit down and have a conversation with me! While we do have differences, we also found a lot of common ground and enjoyment just spending time together. I hope this video plays a small part in your journey of doing life with people who have different experiences and even beliefs than you. We can learn so much from one another, and as a believer in Jesus we also get to invite others into that relationship that Jesus offers everyone. It’s a beautiful gift and journey for many. I’m grateful for this video that’s been in the making since December of last year! 🥰 Excited to read your comments. - Chels

Many Muslims are not normal, they are the Taliban, the Iranian regime and the Hamas group, they are ideological and do not respect the rights of others. It is not at all acceptable that they force women to wear hijab and slavery, they killed Mehsa Amini easily, what a bad treatment they gave to Malala Yousafzai.

I never comment on ANYTHING (especially when the video was posted months ago) but I just feel this need to share my thoughts on the incredible conversation I just watched :) I am not a religious person (nor do I have an interest really in becoming a follower of a certain faith), but I really enjoy learning about different religions and different perspectives on different religions etc. In all honesty I grew up having preconceved ideas of certain religions and denominations due to media I was exposed to and beliefs and viewpoints of family members. Over the past few years I have been learning and soaking up as much information as I can to be able to truly understand the foundations of faith and belief over a broad range of religions and hearing you both speak has filled my heart with a lot of gratitude. I love the message of harmony and peace, and the encouragement of creating dialogue around differing faith. Even though I am from England, a lot of the social issues surrounding faith, especially widespread negative attitudes towards Islam, unfortunately very much exist in British society as well. I am about to start my career as a primary school teacher with a class of 9-10 year olds and I cannot wait to encourage children to speak with pride about their faith and to nurture amongst their peers the respectful conversation and questioning you both demonstrated in this video. Never be afraid to ask questions (as long as they are respectful!). Thank you Chelsea and Tasneem :)

My sister Chelsea, the bridge between Islam and Christianity exists, but most Christians do not read history or the Qur’an. For example, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh and the mother of his son Abraham was Christian The grief of the Muslims at the time of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh the defeat of the Roman Empire by the Sasanian Empire in the great battle because they were the People of the Book (Christians) until the good news came from the Creator of the universe in the Qur’an that the Romans would be victorious after years and this is what was achieved and the Muslims rejoiced in that . The story is well known. You can read the interpretation of Surat Al-Rum. The will of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh in Copts (they were Christians) because between us and them there is a lineage and they are people of a covenant, Hajar was from the Copts and she is the mother of Ismail, and the Prophet Muhammad is from the dynasty of Ismail, peace be upon him. Islam is the only religion that shares with the Christians the love of Jesus and the innocence of the Virgin Mary, peace be upon them both The meaning of Islam: It is the worship of the Creator directly without an intermediary, whether it is an idol, a shrine, or a religious man. Muslims prostrate to their Creator as all the prophets, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad prostrated to their Creator. This is what we do simply, and this is our belief. We believe that our Creator is great and that he should not be a human being or have a son, wife, etc.. You can watch Surat Al-Ikhlas, Ayat Al-Kursi, Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah’s poem on the Christian Question and Surat Maryam, or watch Islamic Monotheism by Sheikh Hassan Somali, which explains why we do not believe in the Trinity and we believe that God is one We as Muslims believe that all the prophets were Muslims according to the texts of the Qur’an, and we believe that we follow the message of Jesus and all the prophets, and our belief is one, but the laws differ according to time, so the legislation of the New Testament was different from the Old Testament, etc. We have no secrets in our religion. You can watch the dialogues of Muslim preachers with Christian missionaries six channels I like in Dawah non-Muslims to Islam: DawahIsEasy Channel, DUS Dawah Channel(shamsi), and One Message Foundation Channel (Sheikh Othman bin Al-Farouq) ,The Muslim Lantern( Mohamed Ali), Sheikh Mohammad Tarawneh, I am “THE WARNER” These channels offer Islamic lessons that you can benefit from: DUS Dawah and Green Lane Masjid and Masjid Ribat and Al Madrasatu Al Umariyyah and Masjid Al-Huda Sheffield We have many proofs of the prophecy of Prophet Muhammed pbuh so we are Muslims. Islam came to bring people back to the Islamic monotheism that all the messengers and prophets, peace be upon them, brought Good luck to you

As a Christian I'd recommend videos from David Wood, Hatun Tash, Christian Prince, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Robert Spencer and ex Muslims. People have left Islam for Christianity. It's important to understand why. And some ex Muslims are now atheists. It's important to understand why as well. Christianity and Islam are very different. There are no commonalities. Whilst it's nice to sit down with people of other religions and discuss religion, that's as far as it goes. Mohammed is a false prophet and this has been proved many times. And the Quran is incorrect in many ways. The fact Mohammed's wife was a Christian, is of no major relevance to the world of religion.

@Zebrasbean there are many wonderful websites and YT videos e.g.from the amazing and knowledgeable people I mentioned in my last comment. Most of them are theologians who have knowledge of religions. The others have studied Islam in detail. There are no commonalities. That's why I recommended them so anyone interested can look into Islam further. Christian Prince and David Wood are very popular and both are theologians.

Whilst there is no harm in sitting down with people of other religions and talking about religion, that's as far as it goes. Islam and Christianity are very different. There are no commonalities. Theology has proved that. Why and how? I'd highly recommend videos from Christian apologists e.g.David Wood, Christian Prince, Hatun Tash, SOCO Media, Robert Spencer and others. Also videos from ex Muslims e.g.Apostate Prophet, Apostate Aladdin, CIRA International, Ayaan Hirsi Ali and any ex Muslims is important. Some Muslims have become Christians and it's important to understand why. And other ex Muslims are atheists. It's important to understand why.

@Zebrasbean theologians have established that there are no commonalities between Christians and Muslims. The ladies in this video are not theologians. As delightful as their discussion was, they are not religious experts. Theology clearly outlines the difference between Christians and Muslims. Praying, daily practice, kindness, charity etc are common across all religions. Even non religious people share some of those beliefs. It's got nothing to do with Christians and Muslims being similar. The two religions are polar opposites. Theology has shown this emphatically to be the case.
@AM-mw2wu
@AM-mw2wu Год назад
@Philosopher80 it's bizzare that you are answering questions to things I never mentioned. I stated there are no commonalities between Christians and Muslims and you've then started mentioning Judaism and what they think of Christians and Muslims. Did I mention Judaism? No! You brought it up yourself. We as Christians answer to our God alone. What other religions and non religious people think of us and whether we're pagans or not, doesn't matter. Only God judges us not other religions.
@philosopher8052

@@AM-mw2wu yes but there are so similarities. Actually there are probably more similarities between jews and Muslims Because jews reject Jesus christ. Christians might have more similarities between Hindus. They so have a trinity. Brahma, vishnu and shiva.

There is no way you can find common ground as a born again Christian with a Muslim. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and they Life. NO ONE comes to the Father except through me.” Muslims do not believe this, they have a different god and a different way and a different truth. Spiritually there is no common ground.
@ChelseaandNick
@ChelseaandNick Год назад
Hey girl i think maybe the point of the video was missed! We all have common ground with humanity being born in the image of God. The goal of this video was to sit down with someone of a different faith and listen to understand. I am not stating that I believe what we believe is the same because it is not and I know that as a believer. I pray and hope that all come to saving faith in Christ. These convos don’t always happen on camera, but they can be inspired by seeing others sit down and listen to one another. But I’m also compelled by love to engage in convos like these! Hope this makes sense and you understand more of the point! Not all evangelism is preaching and personally being a very relational person this type of dialogue allows us to have the more intentional and deeper stuff.
@sandysamatanyabalasamaveer9844
I’ve been holding onto this for years and I hope this video is the perfect opportunity for me to voice my honest frustration. I am Hindu. My husband (and his entire family) is Christian. In an effort to understand his ancestry and pass on the teachings of Christ to our future children, I started reading the Bible and listening to Christian podcasters a couple of years ago. I have loved reading and listening to scripture and I am still on a journey to understand this beautiful religion. HOWEVER, every time I listen to a Christian podcaster say they’re going about it “the right way” while the rest of us are wrong, I feel frustrated and frankly disappointed. I recently listened to a podcast where the guest said they wondered why “they were born in the right place instead of being born in India where they could have ended up Hindu or China where they could have been born Buddhist” and that made me deeply sad. Just because I believe in something else, does that mean I’m wrong? There are so many religions and faiths in the world. Some even older than Christianity and followed by over billions of people around the world. And the more I hear this narrative of “Jesus is the only way,” the more I’m pushed away from Christianity and just want to give up. Which is sad because I think there is a lot to be learnt from Jesus. I am still a Hindu and will always be. It’s what I associate my best childhood memories with and what I want my kids to grow up with too. Maybe that’s why it’s easier for me to digest the fact that many “gods” or beliefs can coexist. But I hope we can live in a world where we can show each other the beauty of every religion without tearing the other down.
@clementtngbowen4910
@clementtngbowen4910 Год назад
Agree with Chelsea! For people to know the beauty of our savior and what he’s done for us, we first have to invite them and not simply just throw Bible passages at them. Note that Jesus in the Bible simply invited and had conversations with people who were different from him, he only threw scriptures to those who claim they knew the scripture well. We need to be more Christlike and INVITE people in and not chase them away.

On the contrary, as Muslims, we believe that the path of the Lord is with Jesus in his time, and we believe that the path of the Lord is with Moses in his time, and we believe that the path of the Lord is with Muhammad in our time, because the prophets are the messengers of the Creator to guide people. The difference is that Christians misinterpret the Bible. This is what we believe in. For example, we do not say father in the description of the Creator. Because the Creator is great and his venerable qualities are not commensurate with the qualities of the Father. We do not say that the Creator was an infant or the son of a child, etc.. These are attributes that are not befitting of the Creator of the heavens and the Creator of everything. The same thing with the Jews, they say that the Creator wrestles with Jacob, etc.. This is one of the distortions that we do not accept as Muslims. Therefore, the Qur’an was a correction of the distortions found in the Old Testament and the Hadith, and a new legislation commensurate with the era If you read the Ten Commandments, you will find that Muslims are more likely to follow these commandments, that the Lord is one, that we do not worship idols, etc.. Do you find idols in churches or mosques? Was Jesus prostrating to his Creator as Muslims and Jesus' disciples do? Or the disciples of Jesus worshiped Jesus instead of the Lord, etc.. These are things that any Christian can easily distinguish if he used his mind
@Lisatwade
@Lisatwade Год назад
@@sandysamatanyabalasamaveer9844 I have shared Jesus with Hindus several times. They find it easy to accept Jesus because they already believe in several gods. However, there is only one God. He paid our sin debt by coming to earth in the person of his son Jesus. Christianity is the only religion where we don't have to "do" anything to receive forgiveness for sins because Jesus did it for us. We put our faith or trust in that, and that is how we are saved. God requires a blood sacrifice to cover sin. Jesus bled and died for us then took his own blood to heaven and applied it to the altar in heaven. God's requirement of blood (which he himself provided for us) has been satisfied. According to God's Holy Word, the Bible, there is no other way. He sacrificed himself, how could there be any other way?
