I got galactic adventures so I could make Earth and it was pretty decent

Yeah, I think the idea was that there could be planets that have far more life than Earth ever has had.

The low terrascore and the complete lack of any signs of civilization makes me imagine that this is Earth millions of years after humanity drove itself extinct via ecological collapse, with the too-dense atmosphere perhaps hinting at a runaway greenhouse effect. The ravages of time and erosion would've eventually erased any easily visible signs that humans were ever here, and the ecosystem could be just starting to recover by the time you find Earth in Spore. One of the proposed answers to the Fermi paradox (Where are all the aliens?) is that humanity is simply too early given the age of the universe and our solar system, and if that's the case, one could easily imagine Spore taking place in a distant future where our galaxy is finally full of life and intelligent civilizations. There's also this fan theory that proposes the Grox might be descended from humans, since they're easily one of the most humanoid Maxis-designed species in the game, lack any sort of natural weapons unlike most of the other species in the game, and some people have also pointed out that the text on the Dance With The Devil badge (which you get for allying with the Grox) looks kinda like the Latin alphabet. This feels like a major stretch to me, though. And finally, there's Steve, the NPC you meet when you enter the Galactic Core. He has a very much human name, is depicted as a vaguely humanoid figure by the statue in Adventure Town, is the only NPC in the entire game to speak English (or whatever language the game is currently in) as opposed to made-up gibberish, and finally, he offers you a "free breakfast and short presentation" at "the third rock from Sol", which is an obvious reference to Earth, the third closest planet to the Sun. All of this hints very heavily at Steve being human or a descendant of humanity, but given the overall humorous nature of his speech, it's hard to say whether this was meant to be taken seriously. Still, even if either the Grox or Steve are descended from humanity, that still doesn't rule out Earth being rendered uninhabitable and abandoned at some point many, many years in the past. It just means that some remnant of humanity managed to survive and reach out for other stars. Which raises more interesting questions about the origin of the ancient artifacts you can find on other planets. The "History of Spore" artifact in particular catches my attention. "These rotting tomes chronicle the meteoric rise and abrupt fall of a long-dead civilization. Their tattered pages, though utterly compelling, reveal little in the way of useful information. Except for a chicken soup recipe scribbled in the margin. That's a keeper."

I did that when I was a kid, ended up using a monolith close to a “human” creature and when they evolved into space stage they where diplomats

Actually, a pretty common theory is that steve is a human. Although his statue in galactic adventures says otherwise.

I don't think that has happened to me, maybe that occurring was patched since I play on a later version of Spore? Very interesting though! Do you remember if it gave you the Finding Earth achievement or was it just the terrain of Earth?

@@KinglyValence No, I was a kid so I don't remember, but I am pretty sure I didn't get the achievement since I feel like I would've remember that if I had. At the time I didn't even know Earth was in the game at all. I thought it must've been some sort of easter egg. i showed it to my brothers and they had know idea either. It also didn't have all the details like the mountain ranges and the ship your suppose to scan was completely absent too, so I couldn't even get out of my home system. I tried googling it at some point to see if anyone else had it happen to them and couldn't find anything. It was on an old laptop that I don't think works anymore. If I find the laptop I can check if it still works, but to this day I've never heard of anybody else having this glitch occur in there game.

@@joshuaspath6923 this is a known glitch, people have been known to have earth spawn as either thier homeworld or the spaceship planet, it always causes the run to be unfinishable as the ship will not spawn on earth or in any of the sol system planets

I'm glad you found it! That's good idea, if I remake this video in the future I'll show how to use the coordinates and give a quick explanation on Polar Coordinates as well!

I’m currently on a Grox eradication run. It’s possible but takes waaaaaaaaaaaay longer than 30 hours. Takes 6-10 hours to do even one cluster. On a speedrun your max average would be around 50 systems an hour. But there are 2400 systems. Do the Math lol. And no, they actually love bad T-score. They die if you improve it beyond a T0. Terraforming is the slowest way to destroy them. Would take twice the amount of hours I mentioned. The best strategy without mods is to use Fanatical Frenzy. It takes over all planets in a system at once without you having to bother taking out one planet at a time. (Cuz if you try to do that you have to do 5000 planets). It also doesn’t make them go to war with you, so you never have to fight them.

Good point about Fanatical Frenzy not angering the Grox. I was also considering allying them to trade route them, could possibly speed up removing them slightly faster using both of these together.

I finished my run and got the badge. :) Though, I had to play sporadically(pun unintended) so as to preserve my sanity, so I can’t give an accurate range of cumulative time saving. :( All I can say is, it took a few weekends in the span of 1-2 months.

Which save file did you download? Save file "3. Spore Earth.zip" has the correct starting location. The other ones have different starting locations :)

I've never had that happen to me before, perhaps try reinstalling your game? Make sure to keep a copy of your Galaxy files, located in the Roaming files on your computer first! :)

its probably a bug or glitch, maybe the game had problems with the galaxy files

That is definitely a bug, I can't remember the fix but It should be easy to find online if you go looking, I think just some file somewhere is in the wrong place. I remember that a long way ago I used to have that issue to.

I don't think I've tried using a Planet Buster on a not yet saved, New Game. I wonder what would happen, I'll try that out!

I gave it a try and using Planet Buster or placing a Colony on a New Game planet in the galaxy that has not been played on yet will just remove the New Game from main menu screen and it will be replaced with another New Game, very similarly to if a save had occurred on that planet. I was hoping we could see a space colony during Creature Stage haha, but it looks like Spore accounted for this possibility.

I don't think it's possible, at least I haven't seen it without mods at least. It would be really cool though!

It should be there on all versions and playing offline. Even the Sol system name isn't present at the coordinates?

Nicol Bolas was my favorite looking character from MTG that I had the actual card for when I played maybe 10ish years ago haha. I chose the picture back then and I haven't changed it since :)
