Something I've been thinking about: Wouldn't it be cool if we had some iconic Outlast character such as Walrider or Chris walker in dead by daylight? I don't know about you but I've been a fan of outlast since it came out and to me it's an iconic mark of the horror genre, I think it could fit pretty well

This is why No0b3 is the best, he usually don't use a webcam while recording a dbd type of video, however No0b3 uses his webcam to us while playing Outlast so that if he got jumpscared, we would all laugh to him, even tho he doesn't want his face to be shown on the internet, this made my day. 🤗

Ok, just to clarify things: The Walrider isn't a ghost, spirit or any other unnatural being. In fact it is very well man-made. While appearing ghostly in nature, the Walrider is actually a swarm of nanites; small, nanoscopic machines which collectively possess great strength and power. It is unclear if William "Billy" Hope simply learned to control the swarm, or if he is the first patient to fully manifest the Walrider. A in-game document from 1938 concerning Rudolf Wernicke’s early work with the Morphogenic Engine details a brief manifestation of the swarm. Project Walrider was the process of exposing patients to Morphogenic Engine Therapy to create a suitable host for the nanite swarm, for only a person that has seen enough horror can become the host. The aim was to create the perfect host for the Walrider, so that it could become a sentient being, as is evidenced by some of the notes you found and never read: Gods and Monsters, Variant Postmortem. It is likely that the Variants (e.g. The somewhat sentient people who tried to kill you over and over again) are the results of this procedure. Billy was capable of controlling the Walrider, with his self-directed lucid dream states, however because they were only using damaged and unstable minds to experiment on, the situation got out of control. The Walrider managed to escape, slaughtering most of the facility's staff members, which directly led to a massive prison breakout. Mount Massive Asylum was only there to create said perfect host. Some of the documents as well as some of the dialogues you had during the game hint to all that. Since you finished the main game now and as far as i know it never gets explained like that, only hinted at, i thought i can tell you this now. It doesn't change anything in the story to know that after you finished it.

now he needs to do whistleblower dlc, its almost as long and if anything has a way better ending, it takes place before, during and after the main game

Man this series had so many dbd parallels. Got fingers cut off by the Doctor, had to kill Billy at the end, while running from a Ghostface who killed Bubba. Also hiding in lockers and vaulting as survival mechanics

*Plot Twist: **_Chris Walker was the good guy the whole time._* Yes, it's canon. And yeah obviously he's villainous and violent but he was literally trying to keep the Walrider from finding a new host and breaking out of the asylum. That's why he doesn't kill patients that are too far gone - they're too weak to host the Walrider. It's also why he keeps chasing Miles - he knows that Miles is strong enough to survive Mount Massive and live long enough to become a primo host for the spectre. It's also why he has a thing for pulling off heads - he can't afford someone who still has an intact brain to be around in case it's enough to host the Walrider. *Chris was just trying to protect civilians. Just like he did when he was a soldier.*
