We took a walk along the river to look at a massive land slide that exposed a bunch of rocks and big boulders. Hidden within the layers of sandstone were pieces of petrified wood, which is fossilized wood from many years of mineralization of buried wood in the sand. This sedimentary rock along the Peace River, in Hudson's Hope, holds a lot of secrets from clam shells, ammonites, petrified wood and the odd dinosaur.
