Excellent session Brandon! I always gain useful insights from your videos. Question for the next Q&A - how to go about powerlifting as a short-torso, long-limb lifter? The general prescription seem to be "eat a lot, get big, take a wider squat stance, take a wider bench grip width, reduce volume on squat/bench because it's a lot more fatiguing, enjoy your deadlift" Would appreciate your thoughts on how to train/program for this build, especially because most generic PL advice caters to stocky gents.

💯 I like how you broke it down for benchers to do what works for them when it comes to stacking. Very important for benchers to find their own way based on their unique qualities. Good stuff.

RE: stacked elbows. Every time i fail on bench its at lockout on the left side. I noticed my elbows are asymmetrical. On the left I'm more tucked. On the right I'm more flared. I always felt i was stronger being more flared but if the flared side is the 1 im falling on im thinking it makes more sense to try to tuck the right like i am w the left instead vice versa

You can’t fail on one side, the bar is fixed and thus force transfers via vectors. One side is simply lagging because of your overall force is inadequate. The asymmetrical bar position is simply a byproduct of the asymmetrical shoulders. You need to fix your shoulder mobility. When I say mobility I mean access (flexibility) and stability (strength in position). This will create a better outcome.

How do you achieve stacked elbows in squats? It is easy for me to achieve a tight back (like a lat pulldown), but this means my elbows go back like 45 degrees (like weightlifters do). But pointing my elbows down like most powerlifters recommend, results in less tightness in my back

Omg… is Agatha a IPF or USAPL athlete? I’m unaware. I’m not sure her reasoning but diminishing returns apply to nearly every biological adaptive process across the board. I can’t imagine how that makes sense but sometimes the programming an athlete enjoys or even just believes in can transcend what is logical lol
