It was a very big day at Hervey Bay! I had an absolute blast finding all of these different types of shells; though microshelling in the shell graveyard behind the mangroves was the real highlight for me! In the end, I loved the wentletraps and violet nerites, but the big favorites were the freak baby baler shell, the lovely thorny oyster (spondylus) and that dark land snail! Thank you very much for watching this entire trip up the coast!
Like I mentioned at the end of the episode, there won't be a part two for this big trip, it was a "one and done" double-ish length shelling episode. Thanks for watching!
Let me know which ones were your favourites ;D and if you enjoyed this and want to see more shell finding videos, I'd appreciate a like or a comment. I read all of them and try to reply when I can. You have no idea how much of a smile you guys put on my face. Thanks everyone!

I didn't even realise that Hervey Bay and it's surrounding beaches had such lovely seashells until I saw "Shellcade Shelling Down Under" - I admired him a lot, and you can also check out his videos here:

G'day Toni~ Wow, I'm so glad that you checked out this big mangrove episodes; there was a lot to enjoy in this one :D Scallops, nerites, land snails, wentletraps and more... it makes me want to go back again soon! I hope you can also go back to the beach soon too; any idea what kind of timeframe that will be, or is it too soon to tell? Thanks for watching, and take care of yourself

Lee would have to drag me off that beach with so many beautiful and interesting shells! 🐚🐚🐚 You had a great day finding wentletraps and murexes. I love all the land snails 🐌🐌🐌 and mangrove snails. Love the violet nerites. 💜💜💜 You know many of my favorites, turkey wings, flats and Venus shells. My favorite today was the thorny oyster. 🦪🦪🦪 The freak baler was really cool too! That was a wow video Maddie! Thank you! 🥰🥰🥰

G'day Pam 👋🏻💖 Haha, probably! I need to spend about 6 hours here for a video (or two) but I only explore half of the entire beach if I'm lucky! Not to mention the other beaches within a 10 minute drive that I just don't have time to visit as well! I would need to spend half a week in Hervey Bay to feel like I've searched through all of the accessible places 😂 Ahhh the mangrove section really is the most bountiful section; I LOVE those Violet Nerites...I have no idea what makes them that colour though, it's really crazy to me 😲! I'm glad I got some nice Turkey Wings at the end, and a really pretty Flat as well 🤩 but yesss that Thorny Oyster and handful of Wentletraps were amazing as well. Looking back, I think that freak Baler was the most exciting and unique; I might never find another shell like that due to the rarity of these occurrences! Ahh anyway! I'm glad I can bring these adventures to you, and that you don't need to upset Lee by not leaving the beach before nightfall 🤣 Thank you so much for joining me on these big beachcombing trips 🥰

Hi Maddie! 👋🏼 the shells are so clean at Hervey Bay today, and the curved commercial scallops are just beautiful the Wentle traps are one of my favorites today! The Violet Nerites are adorable, and my favorite color!! 😂 The tannish Short Spined Murex is another pick of this hunt.. Very nice 😊 The Swollen Wide-Mouthed Top Shell (aka elf hat 🤭) is another fave that caught my eye… The Thorny Oyster 🦪 is my last pick of the day!! So so many great finds!! Shoutout to all of the mangrove Welks today. Those swirly guys are always so nice looking!! Thanks for taking us along!! Take Care! TTFN 👋🏼 ❤

G'day Mimi 👋🏻💖 The shells are never too dirty here...or maybe I only want to collect the nicest ones 😂 Those wentletraps are really nice, but gosh, I still love those Violet Nerites...I don't know why they're purple?? I mean, nothing they eat should make them purple! 💜 Oh the tan coloured murex was a nice one, but if course, the Thorny Oyster is hand down the best shell of the day!! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you again 🙏🏻 Thank you so much for watching the big adventure 🥰

G'day Sherrie 👋🏻🏖️ I'm so glad that you like the big beach adventures, even if they make you a bit jealous 😂! Huh, I should compare more side by side like them...when I remember 🥲. Which shells would you liked to see compared with each other. In my eyes, I usually know the difference so I forget to compare them... Maybe conical moon snails vs Sordid moon snails 🐌 or perhaps the Nerites? The Wentletraps really helped me to see the difference between the species, so I'd like to share the experience more when I think of it, so let me know! Thank you so much for watching 🥰 and for waiting so long for my reply after a long weekend away 🙏🏻

But I guess the best of the best is the thorny oyster!

@SandCoffeeRocks Месяц назад
G'day Lindsay 👋🏻💖 Hehe it was a big video was a lot of fun shells to find, I'm glad that you enjoyed it!! I think your called out pretty much all of the most amazing shells; the Arabic Wentletrap I think is my best one so far for a nearly intact point on it?? The Thorny Oyster was the same; this is definitely the best condition one I've ever come across 🤩 Looking back, I loved collecting all of the shells and minis from the mangroves, but that freak Baler is probably my favourite... Freak shells are so rare and unusual, so I don't know if I'll ever find another one quite like that? Super cool and unique! Ahhh you got me gushing about the shells 😅 sorry about that! G’day Trudy 👋🏻💖 Yes, I decided to try something different with the release time, though I’m not sure if it will have any kind of effect 😅 it was a spontaneous decision really, but anyway!! The shells were calling for me to share them sooner than normal 😂 That Long-Spined Thorny Oyster was really nice, and the wentletraps too!! Oh wow, and the Vitate Conch at the end is also a favourite? It was quite lovely with the yellowish colour; I think it was another one influenced by the mangroves. Already time for the sale, you’ve been moving very quickly with all of this. I thought you’d be preparing for months more! Don’t overwork yourself; your health comes first. Give Bearsy an extra few minutes of walkies for me 🐕 Thanks for watching 🥰

Okay Wentletrap witch, lol Loving all the scallops and thorny oyster of course. That marsh snail is very pretty. It's so strange how many different shells you can find on different beaches. That sweet little violet nerites. I find the Hercules club very interesting and lovely. Some of those bladder moons you find are so full of colors. Those darn jingles are so big compared to Florida's jingles. Thanks again Maddie. I haven't commented for awhile. So thought I'd say hi and Thank you for sharing.
@SandCoffeeRocks
@SandCoffeeRocks Месяц назад
G'day Roberta 👋🏻💖 Hahaha, I think this was my most numerous Wentletrap haul to date! Oh yes, the shells are really different at this beach compared to the ones closer to home; they are very different environments after all. Mud flats, mangroves, offshore reefs, kelp beds, and rocky headlands; they all have their own wildlife and shells that wash ashore! Those Violet Nerites always surprise me though; how are they so purple?? What makes them purple? I cannot think of anything in the mangroves that should turn them that colour 💜 the moon snails make a little bit more sense to me, but they're still crazy with their colours 😁 Ohhh yes, the jingles here are quite large, aren't they! I think they can get bigger still! As always Roberta, thank you so much for watching 🥰 and for saying hi~

G'day Johann 👋🏻💖 Ohhh the Blotched Nerite is maybe from the microshelling video today? I'm not sure if the video skipped another one while you wrote your comment; it happens to be sometimes too! This one had Lined and Violet Nerites from the Hervey Bay mangroves... The Blotched Nerite that I'm thinking of is an orange and black one is the thick black swirl, like a Nightmare Before Christmas mountain 😂 I hope you know this movie; it's a bit of an old one!! Maybe I'm just making wrong guesses here, so please excuse me if I have 😅 But!!! I'm so glad that someone else liked the Blotched Nerites too; they are such an underrated shell and shell species.
