FINDING SNAKES UNDERGROUND! (Camera in a Bull Snake den!)

When I stuck a camera in a rattlesnake den in a previous video, I'm at it again, but this time with bullsnakes and fox snakes on the prairies of Minnesota! I travel to one of my favorite herping spots and stick the endoscope down a few mammal burrows and what I find was incredibly surprising!

That was very cool eastern fox snakes are my favorite i have one from 3yrs ago it was a baby in a basement in winter time love them and bullsnakes 2

There use to be tons of greenies /brownies in the Boston area..All the areas to find them are all gone due to houses being built..Been over 20 years since i've seen either one...

Nah, it just depends on the application of the machine. Endoscope video of burrows and medical surgeries is interesting and acceptable. Binoculars to look at birds and animals in a nature park is good. But not for the things I will not describe lol

So how do you guys have Western hognoses in Minnesota isn't it like Way East

@@carschmn Because they travel between wetlands, forests & prairies their diet changes with location and Western Hognoses are much easier to feed. Eastern Hognoses are obligate feeders, their diet consists mainly of toads. One study claimed they found roadkill Easterns with their stomachs full of insects. I’d like to locate and read that study, unless they were tiny hatchlings I find it hard to believe large Eastern hognoses could sustain themselves on an insect diet.

The green snakes are just so cool. Both rough and smooth. I know they used to sell for a few dollars at one point but I live in the UK and I was trying to track some down thinking they wouldn’t be that expensive. I found a guy on a UK reptile forum selling a pair of smooth green snakes. £1500 for the pair!😲Including the viv and equipment. Second hand the equipment would have been worth £150 tops. Not even that most likely but lets be generous and just say £200 so he wanted £1300 for the snakes themselves. Obviously I didn’t buy them. There’s a ton of species I would rather have had at that kinda money. I could have got a pair of gtp’s at that price.

I wish i could ever go herping with you in my area; we have ringsnake (natrix natrix and natrix helverica), adders, and legless lizards. I just dont know where to find them. Im in the far south of the netherlands btw. If you ever go there, please think of me🙏🙏🙏🙏

Its funny hearing you say smooth greensnakes are rare. They are the second most common snake where i live. Most common being a redbelly.

Even when I was A kid, I would fight people over the FACT that there was no such thing as a bug eating snake. I knew as babies some snakes would eat small worms and slugs but that was it. How little I knew and that makes me sad. Sadly, only learned this to be false about 4 years ago in my 40's now.🙁
