I love the taste of them but I haven’t tried the soup. But I would imagine the result would most likely be the same as I had before which is a lot of gas. Any remedies towards that?

Haven’t try this, but would like to add Jerusalem artichokes to garden, except heard many find the food easy and productive, but not very tasty. So glad to see a good recipe for them.

They taste fine, not very strong. Keep in mind that these produce huge plants, 3 meters tall, per bulb you plant. Give them plenty of space and sun, but as little wind as you can manage.
@shintyty
@shintyty 8 месяцев назад
once you plant them, they spread a lot like a lot and into the surroundings if you are not careful. and it is true that they are really tall the plant. Once you get them going, it does not require much work, and you can harvest a lot. My dad grows them and personally they taste fine, but my little siblimgs all fear them. My mission is trying to find a dish that even my little siblings will like

Yeees! So happy to find this recipe, I fell in love with similar soup. It was my first time to try Jerusalem artichoke, never heard of it, since it is really rare in Serbia.

I have been serving Jerusalem artichoke soup with cod, and it is really good! How would you go about adding scallops or cod to this dish?
@ChefMajk
@ChefMajk 2 года назад
I mean I would not do it probably, because it is soup so why cod inside. Cod I would keep for main. But at the end of the day why not if you like it.

I had a technical question for this dish, I thought brown butter carried most of it's flavor in the brown bits that are the milk solids, so would the strained brown butter still have a lot of the flavor?
@ChefMajk
@ChefMajk 3 года назад
Yes when is cooked, then you can take it out. Burn milk solids are not really nice to eat.

This is my first year growing Jerusalem artichokes and they are easy and attractive (tall with yellow flowers) to grow. I found I suffered with terrible flatulence, after eating them is there anything can be done to offset this? I enjoyed your recipe but am nervous now to try it.

Hi I grow them too...This is my 2nd year...I heard if you wait to harvest until after you get a frost they will be sweeter and less gassy...We make them with potatoes as hash browns they seem less gassy...Hope that helps❤
