Thank you so much for making these plays! They help me so much because I am gonna have a lot of tests about the plays and you make it easier for me to understand. You make the characters so nicely and the way you explain the plays makes me really happy. SUBSCRIBED!

I love this! Thank you so much for saving me from reading Wikipedia's long synopsis. You have earned a subscriber in me!

Wikipedia synopsis is really not the best way to experience Shakespeare. Glad to help!

Thank you so much for these! They are beautifully done; your artwork is absolutely magnificent and I have no idea how you are able to write in depth summaries over such dense plays in only a few minutes! Brilliant! Can't wait to see what comes next

You are so welcome! I did my masters in Shakespeare and performance, and so I really love these plays, and thought I'd make some little videos to try to do my bit to add value to the internet. :) Although getting this particular play down to 5 minutes was especially challenging. So many characters! But I'm glad to have it up!

Thank you for this straight forward summary of this confusing plot. We’re going to see Richard III at the Utah Shakespeare Festival next week. I’d never be able to keep all the characters straight without help.

The histories are especially hard (and as you can see from the comments, I made a few mistakes myself) but a good production will help you follow the plot. :) Thanks for watching!

I don't watch these videos because I'm studying for a class, I watch them because at 23 I've recently discovered how rich and transforming Shakespeare's works are! Whenever I have time to myself now I can just escape into another time and place. For the parts I struggle to understand your videos have been hugely helpful and I don't think you realise the impact you are having in allowing Shakespeare to become accessible to all sorts of people today. Thank you. I'd love it if you could do a video for Julius Caesar sometime!

Wow. Thank you so much, and I'm so glad you're getting to enjoy Shakespeare's plays. I've been meaning to do a Caesar video. And Merchant-- hopefully they will happen before too long.

I understand it now! Your drawings are so well-done and your summary is concise and clear. This play just got a whole lot easier to understand.

That sword fight! Yay! Many yays! Welcome back! This is so good & you do it so well. Perhaps you're a long lost descendant of WShakespeare. The Hollow Crown with B Cumberbatch as R3 was on television -- this is just as good. Maybe I'm a little bit excited ...

I'm so glad to have got it finished. I had written the script in December and meant to have this posted way back in January, but then the semester started and I got mowed under. I loved the Cumberbatch version! So good. Thanks for sharing your excitement. :)

Just in case maybe someday you somehow have time for another, perhaps Merchant of Venice, Merry Wives, or Julius C/Antony&Cleo? I'd suggest Taming of the Shrew, but only in a feminist, satirical version which, (as I tell myself over & over again late at night while falling asleep) is what Will intended. :o)

I think Julius Caesar is another one I'd like to tackle this summer. There seems to be some rampant confusion about the plot of this play over the internet recently, and I'd love to have a simple summary I can point people to. I'm also considering Measure for Measure. :)

Thank you for this summary! It is difficult to follow the family tree. but....I have a question... Are Prince Edward and Young York Lady Anne's children?
@booksandquestions9135
@booksandquestions9135 4 года назад
To my knowledge, Lady Anne has no kids from either of her marriages. Here's a chart: robertspage.com/shakhist.html
@heard3879
@heard3879 6 лет назад
This is really helpful. The thing I don't understand is how marrying Anne near the beginning of the story helps Richard in his scheming and plotting. Why did he want to marry her? (clearly not love)
