The kx250 kart is back and it's going to be a monster. I redesign the rear end; upgrade the rear axle, brakes, and radiator. We design some f1 inspired parts, super clever seat mounts, and adjust the ackerman.

So good to see you back in action. Lets go Vasily. I would add a raked skid plate to the front due to It being so low in case you hit something to keep you from coming to a compete stop. basically to make you jump over it. imagine if you hit a curb for instance. Food for thought.

Hose clamps are not mechanical fasteners. The picture you provided were actually pipe clamps the only thing holding a hose clamp together as one side of the threaded screw into the sheet metal body. Do yourself a favor and get some U bolts like exhaust hangers. But you got some good talents bud. Keep it up
@JusttheEdge
@JusttheEdge 4 года назад
The clamps looked like t bolt clamps. He should be using something stronger.
@Bird76Mojo76
@Bird76Mojo76 4 года назад
The hose clamps are only keeping his mounts from lifting or sliding left to right. The seat mount pipes are resting applying all of their pressure to the frame. The hose clamps only serve to keep it from moving left/right or lifting away from the frame.
@sixpacksandsrts9122
@sixpacksandsrts9122 4 года назад
Bird76Mojo76 Yup. My reasoning for commenting this. Is there’s going to be s hundred thousand views on this vid at some point. A lot of which are going to be kids then going to build something. They will grab hose clamps to hold something structural together not knowing any better Especially after his explanation of them being used in race cars. Which Just is not true

Build some ducts for the radiator that run from somwhere towards the front into the radiator to increase flow since ur head is covering alot of it, some kind of scoop would be cool

Note: If you apply pressure to your brake calipers before tacking the brackets in place it will ensure that the pistons ride perpendicular to the rotor.

Glad to see you back, and like all the updates sure there will be more in future. My 2 cents on this video is using "pillow bearing blocks" instead of your "live axle bearing holders" for strength/adjust-ability/longevity and come in lots of shapes/sizes/ratings. Also not a fan of hollow axles unless you are running a thick wall as gives to much allowance for torque twist and it warping under load also end should be sealed (i always run solid). Its all a learning experience but its reason i started asking professionals and tbh in my opinion after watching so many "gopowersports" sponsored videos i feel like quite a bit of there stuff isn't designed for what they/people use for eg. Tyres (there is no speed rating or temp) Honestly all just be careful, its all fun until something goes wrong and youtube is not a professional haha
