Owning these two large properties I see that the work never stops. It takes the entire Petherick's Team to maintain. I must say all of you do a wonderful job.
Always crackin on, but just look at it all, the beautiful convent kitchen nearly finished, AMAZING, then back to the chateau making it sound and just look at you two Billy, you and Michael are both looking rather fit these days, the building renos are seeing to it, bending and stretching you all over the place...well done boyz...!!!
I notice there is a terrace on the other side of the chateau. Is there another room below with the same issues? And Michael I am waiting to see what you do with the greenhouse please.❤ from Canada
Hey Billy.. I specialize in waterproofing historic homes, and I would suggest adding guttering to that side of the building to keep all of that roof water off the terrace.
Billy, what about inviting a chef to host a tasting or spectacular 5 course meal at the covent? Being invited to the kitchen to watch preps would be amazing. It could be a charity fund raiser, but also a sneak peak at your progress.
If it was promoted well, I'm sure people from the cities would be interested in seeing how the convent is coming along. It's been there long enough that people in France knows of it. @@ros9673
Billy, comparing this video with day one where you did the first viewings and the progress you and the team have made in the convent is nothing short of amazing. You are a true master of restoration and renovation.
Billy, you are looking noticeably thinner, well done on whatever it is you are doing to achieve your thinner look! The bedroom, outside terrace and the kitchen cupboards are looking great!! Great team work!!
When Billy popped up in the beginning, I was still surprised to see how much thinner and younger he looked. Michael looks thinner too. Great ‘body renovations’!👏👏The kitchen is a masterpiece and Michael’s work on the terrace is very commendable!
I really hope all the sealing of the terrace does the job. But if it doesn't. Have a outdoor glassed in orangery building, built on top of it. It will be stunning and useful and it will cover the floor and no more leaking problem. A lot of work you and Michael are dong.
Don’t know if it has been mentioned, but that coffee machine at the convent looks like an upgraded Dalek😂 That convent kitchen is gorgeous. Your vision coming to life. I know you are concentrating on the chateau, but will look forward to the convent library.
Beautiful wood, both the bedroom floor and the units! Yes, the terrace is a big job, but time well spent. Please show Piggy (I apologize for not knowing his (her?) name) in all videos!
Is there a plan to redirect water falling off the roof from falling on the patio? The drainage system was thought through but the patio floor will leak again. Won't resealing the terrace will be needed routinely Just curious. Well done, Michael!
It's all stunningly beautiful Billy. The Convent kitchen especially, all due to your prestigious eye to detail and knowledge of the history. Awsume video.
I hope MIchael will be able to get in their and make a gourmet meal! That could also be such a great vlog for him. Cooking in that grand kitchen, with hlep from the Petherick ladies, as I feel Michael is the only male that cooks in that family?
I live and work in Niagara Falls Canada. A couple of years ago, over a week long period, I watched a crew repairing a flagstone walkway. They removed most of the stones, which were all about a meter long, maybe 70 cm wide and at least 3 cm thick. I wondered as I watched how they were going to grout this quite large area with gaps that looked to be about the same as the ones you are working on now. When I saw them doing it I was surprised. They had mixed regular grout but made it quite loose, about the consistency of runny oatmeal, they then put it into a watering pot, the type you would use in a garden or for potted plants, and they proceeded to simply pour it right into the gap, similar to filling a gap between the counter and wall with silicone. I'd have never thought of it but in hindsight it seems so obvious.
Michael is such a sweetheart 💕. Always brilliant in keeping with being the most conscientious about repare & restoration. Billy has a gem brother there because he is 100% a genius in doing it properly & looking great! IT SWEEMS the more tedious something might be the more perfect Michael is. 😉 ❤️ 😉. Billy, loved you going back to the conveint whenever you do it. Wow, we can tell it's your pride & joy. 😉 it was so brillantly accomplished & quicker than we ever thought possible. 👏 🎉❤ A great legacy 👌for your kids too.
Love the finish Osmo gives. Found out the history of the company today and it is available at Amazon here in the US. I am thinking of using it on my wood furniture in my bedroom. You are such an inspiration and such a craftsman and designer.
I noticed you and your brother both use a brush versus a roller for most things including large walls. I've seen many that have rolled it then brushed it out but not so much just a brush. What have you found to be the benefit of that?
Michael answered this question few days ago when he was painting some walls at the chateau. He says the finish is better and more smooth compared to the finish with rollers…
Gosh I love seeing the chateau ❤️ . The convent kitchen is outstanding and I enjoy watching its progress ( here comes the but…) But the chateau is so nice to see. I fell in love with that house and all the awesome antiques you have found. The chateau architectural design is fascinating. You and Michael together discussing the house is perfect.
Hi Billy. At the convent in the kitchen, have you ever considered placing the fridge to the left of the doors? If there's room, it seems to me like that would be a much more logical location and would balance the cooker on the opposite side nicely. It would also get it out from under the wall sconce and allow something else to be put in it's place. I've thought this for a while and figured I'd mention it. Cheers!
Will the first meal in that wonderful kitchen be cooked by Gwen? I have promised beans on toast, but I am sure she can do it more justice 😀. The 2nd Kitchen Project is going to be very interesting too - and just as expensive, I fear.
I keep thinking about the beans on toast you said all that time a go.. even thought about it when Billy put the extractor fan on. If you burn the toast !!🤭
Applying that Osmo looks so relaxing! If I lived closer I would volunteer to do it. I love the music you chose to accompany your Osmo work. Do you listen to music when you are working or just enjoy the quiet rhythm?
Oh how beautiful the kitchen cabinets are in the convent!!! Again a great example of going the extra mile and doing it right. Billy your vision for the convent is awesome.
Mate, I’ve got loads of respect and, after following you for a while, affection for you. Does the convent need to pay for itself? You are pouring so much love, time and treasure into it, I’d love to see it give something back to you.
Convent kitchen is looking great billy, i'm really looking forward to watching Michael hand paint the chapel ceiling guess i'll be tuning in for a while cos he's doing the patio then the kitchen...well you are a very busy family. 👌💪👩🔧💯
It would go much faster if you use a masonry piping bag (similar to what they use to decorate cakes). First, it gets deeper into the voids, and second, it produces less of a mess. Much, much faster.
BILLY! Would you consider also adding gutters over top of the Terrance as secondary way to move water away. Would be beautiful to add a sunroom on top of that Terrance. Do you have an Orangery on the property?
Boys the reason the old kitchen has bars on the Windows was because the family silver ware was kept in the old kitchen area in one of the rooms that the butler and housekeeper had keys to for security reasons .and the large pieces of silver ware wouldn't for through the bars on the lower Windows .
Hey Billy! Nice job! I was wondering if Michael couldn't use something like a pastry bag (a plastic bag with a cut off corner) to get the epoxy into the grouts a bit easier? :) Kind regards, Christian from Denmark
Billy,Michael, and Yanis my beloved. Billy what happened to Alex who did all the videos? Also where is Florin? The floor came out so beautiful. It will look better with furnishings. Until tomorrow my love. Please, take care and stay safe. Love ya guys 🍺🍺🍺🇺🇸❤️🌹😇👍🌈🌞🕊🙏
I like the idea of the Chataeu Kitchen location. Have you given any idea of maybe putting a green house enclosure around that terrace and over the kitchen? It would make a great outdoor family room and eating area for your guest.
Remember that, boy that was forever ago. He was working on the paneling and lighting as well. I love that we get to go on this journey. It has to be a labor of love to keep these places going.
Why doesn’t Michael make a pipping bag to use to put in the grout in?? this would be a little less work and give him a little more time before the product goes off….
