This video visits Finlaggan loch on Islay in Scotland's Western Isles. It looks at some of the history of The Lords of the Isles and explores the ruined remains of the Lords of the Isles administrative centre on Eilean Mor and Eilean na Comhairle.

It's a shame you didn't do a little more detail on the archaeological remains of the Lord Of The Isle site. Time team did a dig there but they found so much they had to leave it unresolved with unanswered questions.

Thanks for your comments. I am sure there is much still to be discovered at the site. We were mere tourists there for about 90 minutes. I did a lot of research when I got home including looking at Time Team. I am wary about making suggestions in our videos that cannot be substantiated by the experts.

@@dipinmedia Ah, I see. Well, I don't blame you for being careful, and anyway, overall it was a nice looking and informative video. Thanks.

Great video but you went from John of Islay at the start of the Hundred Years War to John of Islay at the end of the Hundred Years War in the blink of an eye.

I'm really enjoying your videos. I share them all with my ex wife/best friend. She also loves them. We love Scotland, Ireland, Brittan , and Wales. Will you ever do any sites outside of Scotland?

Thank you for those kind words. Unfortunately it is unlikely we will get far from Scotland. Kate and I are both 75 (in fact it is Kate's birthday today). I am currently trying to write a script about Skara Brae to go with the video clips I took when we were there in the summer. So hopefully that will be the next one. I think after that we will probably stay closer to Aberdeen. There is a lot still to see here.

Thanks for this wonderful video. My family origins are founded in this beautiful area. We were Septs of the McDonald Clan. My deep ancestry lies in the migration of the nomadic Yamaha people that entered Eastern Europe from the Caucuses and the Eurasian steps 40,000 years ago. It’s amazing that they mixed with Western European groups that eventually came to people northwestern Europe and the British Isles. A long road to travel for us all. 💕
