Thank you, I don't know if that was fair. You were better than us in the first period. Then I think your players are careless there in the middle zone. It was probably a fairly even match, but a bit of an advantage for you. But always nice to beat you haha. See you next game :)
In every tournament i cheer on Suomi if Sweden has failed. We are both small countries that has produced so many good hockey players through the years. I feel it is a shame that Sweden and Finland meets so early in the finals of a tournament. Want to see Sweden and Finland meet in finals. So many great games has been played between our countries. Incredible to watch on TV,with high speed ,hard honest hockey. Sweden now needs the Sisu that the Finns is famous for. Otherwise it will be really difficult to go pass semi final. Hoping to see Sweden and Finland play insane hockey in the seniors hockey later in this year. Greets from Sweden
Our Finnish brothers you are so humble to root for us even after losing like this. I wish I could say most Swedes would do the same but I don’t know if we would 😅🙏 anyhow appreciate your kindness and love the Finnish people 🙏 our Nordic brothers
Facts why this matchup is so awesome: - Sweden and Finland have the same amount of registered hockey players. Even though Sweden is double in population. - Sweden creates two times more NHL players than Finland. - Finland in recent years creates more x-factor players, who can clinch a game-winning goal. - Finland has had more success in recent years than Sweden in international tournaments. - Historically, Sweden has won more, but that can depend on hockey development in the early stages of international hockey, which gives Sweden the advantage. As far as im concerned modern day hockey should be accounted for most of the comparison. All in all, even though I'm a swede, I would say the two nations are equally powerful and it's enjoyable as hell to see them play. I am never as emotionally invested in real life as in these games. Lets go for gooold
Heartbreaker for 🇫🇮. I was hoping they’d get the chance for a rematch with us 🇨🇦 from last time. Love their current kit though. Stjernbourg was “captain clutch” for 🇸🇪, and gave all fans quite the moment to remember. Great game!!!
Even tho our bois makes a lot of mistakes and has shown to lose focus sometimes, I got a good feeling after this 3rd period it really looked like they were able to step up mentally when it mattered
Another great game between 🇫🇮 and 🇸🇪. Kudos to our Finish brothers for putting up a great game with great plays. Always fun to go up against Finland, and while Finland was the better team for the first two periods, the game is still played in three periods. This game was settled by the goalies.
As much as I'm happy that Sweden advanced to the semis.... the fact that the puck bounced past not one but TWO finnish players is grade A, bonafide bullshit 😂
🇫🇮Our defence was rather weak in this tournament, and now it finally came up short. In 2-2 goal our top one D Vilen (#10) was having like 2min shift already, and had already 17mins TOI in the first two periods, clocking well over 25mins in every game. Shame that we couldn't capitalise our moment at the third period, now we can only sit and watch the rest of the tournament without our blood in it.🇫🇮
I don't think Finland deserved to win it. Shots mean nothing if you can't score. Finland didn't look like a candidate for gold or even for a medal at all in this tournament.
Incredible game. Both teams played well. Unbelievable comeback by Sweden in the end. They showed their will to win. Lindbom and Carlsson were the best today.
Really? Maybe I'm pessimistic but I think both teams played like shit. Swedes played very defensive and just play down the boards. Finns didn't create that many great chances despite many shots. Grettings from SWE
Wow an incredible game from two good teams who know each other inside and out. I'm sorry Finland, once again you are standing there with a heavy loss on your shoulders. As a Swede, I know what a fantastic hockey country Finland is and it's always extremely nervous to see important matches between Sweden and Finland. Of the highlights I see here, the best team won over the entire 60/min of hockey. If the first period was Finland's, the second period was Swedish, the third was even as only it could be. The body language of our captain after his finish says it all, so much emotion there. Personally, I myself believed more in Finland than my Sweden this year, I don't think we will win this year either... Hope the new year brings you better continuation my dear brother in the East. From Gothenburg / Sweden with ♥
From Sweden. That first Finish period was insane. Me and mother cheered at the first shot who hit the goalie just because of how dominant y’all were. We are once more saved by Lindbom
@@therapist6328 Canada's goalie isn't even top 5 when it comes to goalie save percentage. Lindom has saved 2x more shots than Milic while having better percentage as well.
@@lordkhan I'd say Lindbom had a bigger impact for Sweden than Bedard had for Canada. Canada can score lots without Bedard, Sweden would be fucked without Lindbom.
Lindbom steals another one for his country. The tournament MVP will likely go to Bedard, but Lindbom would be my choice. He is the biggest difference maker at this tournament, imho. Dude's got Vezina written all over him. Congratulations, Sweden, and see you in the semis.
@@kennethsundberg225 I don't think Sweden would have lost to Germany, but Lindbom is bailing his team out night after night. Whoever does the goalie scouting in Vegas deserves a hefty raise.
With Finland out, I will be cheering for the Swedes and the Czechs for the rest of the tournament. It gets too boring to see the same teams year after year grab the Gold medals, even if Canada and USA have some awesome talent and play very entertaining hockey. Nevertheless, congratulations on the great win Sweden and good luck!
@@Jytaani Why is this? We live and breath hockey. Every small town east of the Rockies and even some west have one thing they do in winter and that's play hockey. The Fins are good drivers, the Americans play American football, Europe + the Middle East play football, we play hockey...
@@alexdemidoff8014 well carlsson has to do with carlsson, and i was refering to his overall performance during the game. not necessarily his goals. but how he protects the puck, passes the puck, use his body.
Thanks so much, it was a fun match to watch. Always fun to meet you, sad that you left now, I would have liked to see Sweden and Finland meet in a final, but now it wasn't possible, one of us had to win. Looking forward to the next JVM. Tomorrow I'll have to cook myself, my girl wasn't very happy after the match XD she's Finnish but born here in Sweden. But well, see you next time :)
GG's Sweden incredibly even game, your goalkeeper is insane, our goalkeeper on the other hand was great too but nowhere near as talented as yours was. I really just want sweden to win now BCS in the past 10 years they have only won 1 gold but they have been in finals so many times. I just don't want Canada to win so as long as anybody else wins than Canada it's ok😅
You Finns have been so good lately and successful. It’s been good to see.. us Swedes struggle to get it done in the finals as you say.. haven’t been able to display the same level of heroism.. I don’t expect us to win the tournament but it is very nice to be in the final four.
You better believe that I screamed my lungs out when Stjernborg buried that shorthanded goal. As a Växjö Lakers fan it was even sweeter to see him score the decisive goal.
As a true Skåning and someone who has played against him countless times from the times when he used to play in Malmö, it was awesome to see him score that goal
@@northerncrozz8449 Well they came...back ? Is there a criteria for the amount of goals that specifies what is a comeback. And it's 2G in 3 minutes one being a shorty, that's not common.
Love to the Finns, such an enjoyable game to watch, you really had complete control for a long long time. The crazy save and later seizing the momentum, even against powerplay, to score saved us
What a great game that was. Fans got their money’s worth. Congrats to the Swedes who showed some heart. I kind of feel bad for Finland. They played so well in this tournament, and you can bet they expected to go further than this. That’s going to be a tough loss to swallow.
@@Mmmm-lx9vb I thought Finland were going to win most of the game and not less after watching how slow of a start Sweden put up, Carlsson and Lindbom were difference-makers today and without them Finland would’ve won easily.
@@stefandjurachkovitch8624 You didnt follow Finland too critically then, the group B was miles easier than A. There were 2 contenders in the group and we were one of them. We lost to a bad switzerland team that lost 1-9 to Czechia, beat 2 non contending countries whose hockey programs dont even compare to ours in Slovakia and Latvia and got embarrased 6-2 by USA. Atleast Sweden was able to beat a contender in Czechia, that alone was more than we accomplished. Its true you got crushed by Canada but their roster is much more talented than USA who we got blown out by. We either did bad or the bare minium in every game
@@Mmmm-lx9vb true I didn't follow group B so much... but I'm just speaking from what I saw this game... apart from Lindblom, Finland were the better team... but a Sweden win was good for the rivalry ^_^ ;-) Finland have been dominating lately
This reminds me of Czech Republic and Slovakia. Just like two brothers... They can harras each other, but you better leave them be, because if you won't, then you have a double trouble.
I expected this match to be very balanced and attractive at the same time - just a Nordic derby. Finland was a slight favorite for me, but finns didn't manage the end of the 3rd period at all... (more than one minute 6 on 4 and no equalizer). Sweden advanced deservedly. BTW Players also hit the goal posts twice. Greetings and I look forward to rematch. 🇨🇿
This was so embarrassing, idk why the ff we allways stop playing when we are winning... Every time... Our this year team was not goot at all, couple really overrated players. I hope we get good team when we playing men tournament, NHL players... Thats not honna happen either tho. We should get rid of this boring scary hockey and just play more.
The most cringiest thing about this was that finnish coach was hyping after the game about our 2nd place in group stage 😭😭 i literally wanted kill myself after i heard that
as a fin. i must say if you make that kinda mistake in the quarter finals on powerplay and let the them score short handed... man that must feel like its all your fault and it is. Maybe next time. Was a real nice break away goal too.
That was 3 individual mistakes: 1. too sharp pass, poor processing and loss of the puck. 2. loss of the puck by the defender 3. bad coverage of the puck and missed the puck with the stick. And then the goalkeeper, who didn't save the situation either.
What great there is if your country loses world championships quarterfinal? NOTHING. Even some fucking relegation series would've been better than lose to those fucking Swedes.
Good for him. But Connor Bedard will be miles better NHL player what Carlsson will ever be. Carlsson won't be nothing special compared to Bedard who's probably secong coming of McDavid / Crosby.
Good for him. But dude you gotta jump of that dick just alittle. You are so deep on that dick that you forget words. Classic case of dickriding gone obsessive. Have a nice ride.
@@Ollijokkinen You just rode a big Swedish one, looks like you’re already excited for another one. Don’t worry theres plenty for you sad inbreded fins.
In the pre-games Sweden played like they don't wanna play in the championship. In every game sp far in the championship they've been playing lile they don't enjoy it and wanna lose yet managed to collect wins, reach the quarters and win again despite playong terrible. Any win is good but it sure neither fun or good for ones sanity to watch. Except our goalie. He's been showing up and carrying the team every game.
Swede here, honoured to get to watch this matchup against my Nordic brother. Amazing game from both sides, Finland is a force to be reckoned with and if it hasn’t gone our way I would be cheering them to the gold.
Can somebody tell Russians to just go on their own Putler Tube or Z-Tube? Why they are complaining they can have their own tournament with North Korea and Belarus.
Congratulations to Sweden. They played a great game and all swedes should feel proud. No shame in losing against such an amazing team. Greetings from Gothenburg, Sweden. 😁😁
