First off, thank you to the IIHF channel for streaming free live games, and then uploading the entire 3 hour game afterwards. They've done this for all 2015 games and now 2016. It's truly amazing to have all these games and countless hours for us to watch for free. No other channel does this that I know of. I know there are lots of people with minor squabbles about this and that, but overall, THANK YOU IIHF channel. YOU ARE THE MOTHER FUCKING BEST.

+butharat that is simple, he is nordic and Finland is also nordic, and the rivalry between the two countries in icehockey is very deep and longstanding, but so is also the respect and understanding of each countries hockey culture.

Gold will be either reserved for Canada or host Russia , but Finnland , Sweden and Tscheslowakia could intervene and have something against that ! Will See ! For NY German Team all the best in the quaterfinals and maybe surprise me just Luke in the hohe WC in Germany back than in 2010!😀

now about the game: The US team is practically a college team with just a couple NHLers and the best player on your team is a rookie from the NHL (Larkin). So people need to remember that this isn't the best US Team out there. It's a college kids group. They played well, but their inexperience showed. I'm really disappointed why Hynes hasn't changed up the lines a bit. Jordan Schroeder SHOULD NOT be on the 2nd line with Matthews and Vatrano. Schroeder is probably the worst player and should be demoted to the extras. Someone like Hinostroza (who was named best player last game) should be promoted. Vatrano was a great addition to Matthews' line. Vatrano is a sick goal scorer. He had 36 goals in 36 games with AHL Providence Bruins. That's just sick. Hynes needs to make a couple adjustments with the lines. Maroon has been moronic at times, but his size and strength has also been beneficial. I just feel bad that this US team doesn't have more NHLers and more high end talent. Matthews could really use that help. If they can get Brock Nelson or Nick Leddy to come out of NYI to join this team, that would be great. And where the fuck is Eichel? You moron! :P

+breakaway2x if you send your kiddos, then you have no right to complain. Have you seen the finnish faces? not sure if they even have a drivers license.. :-) if the USA doesnt take the "world" serious enough to bring the best players out to play, then stfu. This excuse doesnt count, i have heared it too often times. Aparrantly you know the problem, fix it so we dont have to hear that lousy excuse for lousy play also next year. (i could have said "our best players are also in the NHL - so our team is a team of strangers that is not used to play together, and not all our best could escape their obligations in 'merica" - but those kind of excuses stink)

***** Yes Vlad, that makes sense and seems undisputable on the surface.... Then again, a nation so many times larger - with a proportionally larger playerbase to choose from - should be able to compensate and stay on par with countries like Finnland despite that advantage you mention. Same goes for the largest country on the planet, russya. Statistically, they have many more players to choose from - so any victory by tiny finnland against the "superpowers" weights double in my books. After all, just the City of new york should be able to field the same amount of players than sweden and finnland together. We recruit our players from a total population of only 5 million, of which many play overseas in the NHL. For you its a domestic flight, for us its jetlag and travel time of like.. 20 hours, sometimes more. I dare to say - if we want to find advantages and disadvantages; the USA has it not half has hard as you would like it to be ...

***** 4-0 , aparrantly the canadians had a bad day, or dare i say - met their masters. It was interesting to see how they tried to compensate lack of skill with additional rough playstyle. Anyways, good game. Cant complain :O) regarding your comparision to "european nations" It is not comparable to a single nation size of europe. The "european nations" do not form a single team but one team per country. So that comparision is a fail. And why you mix in the nationalism- of which the u.s.a has its own fair share (just look at the trump voters) - into sports is beyond me. What has that to do with anything.

Though after this game where we got to know our weaknesses and the other games where we'll get the solutions and the Slovakia game, a little test, we'll be 3 times better than in this game. But still I think Finland will not win Canada. I also think that if Finland doesn't meet Russia in the playoffs (russia would just cheat to win. Finland has been known to fuck them up even with a shit team) the final will be Finland - Canada.

+Rauta If Canada aint doing it then only a team with lots of momentum can. FIN is one team, CZE has got some but can see them trip against someone like SUI as in the past but on paper CAN is by far the best team!

demandrecords Definitely, even without 90% of their brightest stars, Canada still has an all NHL team, and plenty of top NHLers like Perry, Marchand and Stone. I expect the Canada-Finland game to be tight, but I have to prepare for it to be a total ass kicking.
