I really admire the level of control and deliberation in the strokes from the both of you. It's very graceful, and demonstrates the amount of practice you must put in.

Federico, after watching it again I can really tell that your Fiore is best suited for tall fighters. While your partner being more compact, totally uses the wall of steel of the German system to just move in safely and oppress you. You reach out more and he tanks more. Your height difference really highlight the styles and their differences.

This is the longsword I want to see. Controlled and clean. Very nicely done.

why dont hollywood filmmakers hire experts like these to choreograph fight scenes?!

It’s interesting. In the previous video there were some comments about Kieth being more Meyer than pure Liectenauer. There were also criticisms about not using padding because it meant those Meyer stances like Zornhut weren’t being used because they’re for powering through an opponent, which obviously you can’t do without padding. Add the padding in and the Zornhut’s disappear and Kieth looks a lot less Meyer!

Excellent video, i personally prefer Lichtenaur because it is easier to remember the names of everything, but also it seems more attacking. But i started with fiore, i really loved the use of measure from you both!

Great show from the both of you. I've watched the original countless times as it is a very fine example of the ART of longsword fencing as opposed to a tournament setting. I practice Liechtenauer's tradition under a very good and thorough instructor and I believe that traditional duelling would have looked more like the examples in your two Fiore vs Liechtenauer videos. Awesome job.

9:06 that exchange looks like something out of Joachim Meyer's longsword. We practice mixed german longsword in our club, we have Lichtenaur, Meyer, and Ringeck. And im just going to say what i love about each style: Meyer has the best flow, the cuts and transitions just run beautifully, Ringeck's simplicity and movement is top notch quality, its a full body exercise, and Lichtenaur is just disciplined strokes, polished and tactical, no wasted swings. i dont know a whole lot about italian longsword, i just know that the names of things are hard as fuck to remember, and a lack of thumb grip action going on, also as far as i can tell it seems to be more free flowing than the german styles.

Da Italiano forse sono un po' di parte... Ma per me Fiore è sempre una garanzia.. Meno estetico o complesso forse ma assolutamente efficace

Fiore would in my thinking be the more refined style. But both are grate.

What gloves do you use? Keith's using Sparring Gloves but I've never seen yours before.

What was the end score? to the untrained eye i cant tell, there are some i thought one of them won with a body shot only to find out the other won with a strike to the hand haha

Does anyone knows the average lenths and widths of the parts of those swords? I practice swordplay boffering and I'd like to make a sword that's similar (considering sizes) to an average two- handed sword.
