The mixture between the anger in the women's screams and the men's laugh at one point really gave me serious chills and it truly depicts unbridled feminine rage. I wish we could sing this at the women's March protests
@@LR-qi9rj they are both good. The all female version though is pretty angsty though. Tribal. Shrieking. I saw that one first and this one does not compare. Something about the all female version is very instinctually stimulating like a true war cry, not a reenactment which this one feels like. Moving piece nonetheless!!!
@@religionisapoison2413 if you haven't seen it already you should check out the TMEA treble choir rendition of this. it's the best performance I've seen by far
@@religionisapoison2413 That choir is the best high school singers in the state of texas, which is the most competitive state musically. I think that's a better rendition than any you'll hear, satb or ssaa
This has become one of my favorite videos on RU-vid in general. I've tried listening to Fire by other groups since discovering it, but this group just seems to "get" the song and fully feel the music.
All female version is better. I don't need to hear more men in my life. I want to hear womens voices and energy. Time to move over men. Matriarchy time.
To each their own opinion, but I believe that without both then there is an incomplete balance making harmony impossible, in a metaphorical sense of course. Sorry to see you’ve been hurt in the past.
This piece is part of a four part series including the three other ‘elements’ of nature, and while this piece does do well with SSAA composition in terms of the wild anger you can use it to present I assure you it wouldn’t be able to exist in the context of the rest of the piece without a full ensemble. Be careful of the fine line between preference and prejudice. Crossing it never results in anything happy.
