I never use Devil Axes,but I have a funny story about one.On FE8,I had Gilliam lvl 20 general charge at four Cyclopses,and one had a devil axe.Gilliam almost fisihed that one off,then the Cyclops brought down its axe on him...and ended up killing itself.lol.

The devil axe works like this: It has a 31% chance of hurting you, minus the amount of luck the unit using it has. So even a unit with full 30 luck still has 1% chance of getting hurt themselves when using it.

Yeah it's got a lot to do with luck. The equation is: 31% - [character's luck]% = % Devil Axe will hurt user. Even if someone had full 30 Luck, there would be a 1% chance of that character getting hurt themselves. Somebody with 0 Luck will have a 31% chance of hurting themselves.

And people wonder why I never use the Devil Axe... Note to self: Make a Devil Bow, Devil Sword and Devil Lance as well :3

Love how there's an axe wound in the horse and the rider and yet Oswin is the one who dies.

This is why I rarely, if ever use the Devil axe. Units who use devil weapons run the risk of becoming an heroes. Oslose(formely known as Oswin)has demonstrated what happens when one uses the Devil's axe. They become an heroes.

@ShaunK1988: Well, that's not entirely true either. IIRC The Devil Axe curse goes off your own defense as one time I had Barst using the Devil Axe because he would've survived even if it backfired (he had no crit) and it killed him. Maybe that's only in FE11/12, though?

I am at the chapter with Nergal as boss. I have all of my characters (I don't like seeing them die...) and most of them are up to date. I try to level up as many of the characters as I can. You know, so they can handle the tougher bad guys.

Halo announcer guy: Suicide! Seriously though, I never use the acursed (literally) things because of stuff like this happening.

True - Very high amount of power equal to the legendary weapons - available early in the game, but hell it's risky :P It was the same Devil Axe that I used to help Raven get to an S rank in axes quickly.

I never knew Oswin was like that. lol

Because the Devil axe raises axe skill level 8 times quicker than an iron axe, so the level rises very quickly.

@Donutboy4080 Nar, I'm very sure that it's based off whatever the DMG is during the fight, regardless of your own defense. If it was taking Oswin's defense into consideration, he would have survived.

@MeleeOfShiek He sadly wouldn't have. He had 48 HP (1 hp damage from a level up). The attack did 34 damage, but it was a critical, meaning that it was 34 x 3. Oswin took 102 damage, so he wouldn't have survived. Although, he would have survived if the attack wasn't critical.

The reason it had only one use left was because I (ab)used it with Raven to get his axe skill level to S quickly. Raven was done with the Devil axe so I gave what was left to Oswin to raise his axe skill level quicker.

i hacked max luck for raven,he only hit himself once with the devil axe,he had max stats too,i wanted to see how often it could hit him,it hit me in about 1 in every 30 battles

I really hate the devil axe. I mean really. Does anyone need an axe in which you die but not the enemy? Come on! (The only way you would need that is if you are getting rid of someone on your team that you hate and they use axes. Trust me, it has crossed my mind before)! LOL! Anyway, funny video! It gave me a good laugh. Poor, poor Oswin. I love this game. I am on the last level of the whole game but I can't defeat it! Any advice?
