In Morgan's case, yes. Robin succumbed to amnesia first due to a plot related event. Emmeryn's case was the result of the fall that she lived through. As for Morgan, I have no idea. The only clue I have is that Morgan collapsed without warning and woke up sprawled in a field. Pair Robin up with Emmeryn, and things will come full circle. Don't get me wrong. This is the only other pairing I myself could live with when it comes to the male version of Robin, even if getting this one requires alot of work to be done.

Nielspiels Emmeryn lost her memory after the fall. She can't take back the throne if she has no memory of even having it. Besides, the throne should have been Chrom's due to the fact that Falchion chose him as its master. That sword should decide the next Exalt, not by who was born first.

Members of the royal family of any kingdom are required to know how to fight in case they either find themselves in a combat situation or choose to take up arms in defense of their people. Just cause Emmeryn's a pacifist doesn't mean she won't defend herself when the situation warrants it.

+Heath Wilson Also a common term. I've personally theorized that Morgan comes from a future where Robin let Chrom kill Grima, who somehow returned earlier than expected. Morgan's coming to the past, depending on player choice, either did nothing to change Robin's decision, or drove him to sacrifice themself to prevent the probable cause of Morgan's amnesia: a failed attempt by Grima to inhabit Morgan's body. Of course, I'm probably wrong there. It's just the only reason I can think of for why Morgan went to the past.

You know what's really depressing? If you play on classic mode, in Emmeryn's death quote, she regains all of her memories. Yet if she lives, she never fully regains her memories through out her whole life. That's just... unfair...

I always got the impression that the romantic relationship between Robin and Emmeryn would be a soul shattering one. Like, Robin only decides to be with Emmeryn as a way to calm his own guilt over not being able to save her, and then he wakes up one day to realize that he's married to a woman who's been broken in so many ways but he could never bring himself to leave her. Why is this so fucking depressing?
The entire point of their romance is he wants to help her and legitimately cares for her. Robin's not the kind of dickbag who'd stick around in a loveless relationship like that. Emmeryn isn't "broken." She's hurt and she's healing. Jesus Christ, dude.

I did this pairing on my 3rd playthrough of the game. About a month after I pulled off the S support and married Emmeryn, I stumbled across a fan fiction story between these two. Looked up a possible romance story of such out of curiosity and actually found what I was looking for. The name of said story is "The Lady of Grace." Fire Emblem Awakening has provided limitless potential for fan fiction stories. The one I looked up had the possibility of romance between Robin and Emmeryn BEFORE she took the plunge in Plegia. Sorry bout the spoilers. It was unavoidable. That fan fiction story made both my doing this pairing and the posting of the host comment feel justified. That's my opinion. So for anyone who wants to reply to this, please DO NOT bite my head off. Someone else did that to me and I got upset.

Not necessarily. Approval is a possibility if said caretaker is deemed worthy by means of a heroic act. Robin's presence started healing Emmeryn's heart. Being with him is what she really needed.
I tend to look at these DLC characters as "what if" scenarios. There just isn't enough content that comes with them to make me feel like they are really a part of the party. As far as I'm concerned Emmeryn died a noble death sacrificing herself for her country and the people she loved most.
agreed. a dude and i were debating over on another vid about this issue. the second i saw her in the paralogue i immediately lost any connection i had with her. her sacrifice is what made her such a great character. she stood by her beliefs so rashly that she made the ultimate sacrifice.
DevilHunter1994: The problem here is that these SpotPass characters are available too late into the game. They should have made Gangrel and Emmeryn available for download before going to Valm (at least imo).
That conversation alone makes getting the supports worth the effort. For anyone who's seeking this but want to get to that level as quickly as possible, the Seed of Trust would help big time. You can get three of those from the DLC maps Summer Scramble and Hot Spring Scramble.

LuiBei1994 ...And if you look at the dialogue afterwards, we see he's about to run and get her body (Which probably would have resulted in him discovering she's alive), but then Basilio comes in with his "HELL NO" and pulls him back.
I'd say the S Support Conversation with Emmeryn, along with her confession, is very heartwarming. Between Lon'qu and Cordelia, Frederick and Sumia, plus this, I had to save this one for last, because Robin is the one getting married. Not to mention, I picked Emmeryn because I felt very sorry for her loss of memories. The best ending for Emmeryn only occurs when she marries Robin.
Jeez, this is so sad. She has committed suicide because she did not want war with Plegia. She wanted peace, even if her father held that crusade that apparently annihulated most of Plegia. Her own people were mad at her, throwing insults and stones at her (WHEN SHE WAS A CHILD!) and now she's back from the dead, but can't remember anything and barely peaks correctly.
That crusade was meant originally to target Grima's vessel. However, the vessel couldn't be located cause his mother stole him from his crib and ran into the night.
The title of the Paralogue she can be recruited in says it all. Said title being "A Hard Miracle". Based on that, it's a miracle that comes at great cost.

I agree. Back in April, I pulled off this pairing. Was hesitant to go through with the third run cause of how much of an asset Morgan was during the main story, but I did alright. Once I completed Paralogue 20 "A Hard Miracle", I wasted no time in working on the supports between the male tactician and Emmeryn. Went to Summer Scramble first to pick up 3 Seeds of Trust. Those combined with the one I got from the Renown Rewards allowed me to reach S level really quick. Plus Emmeryn was leveling up like crazy in places like the Table Approach and the Dragon's Table itself. My tactician's name is Soren. Been obsessed with that name since I first played Path of Radiance. A month after I pulled off this pairing myself, I stumbled across a fan fiction story known as "The Lady of Grace". I feel it was like fate to me with said story.

MadTahaney It's just you. Emmeryn's support options are limited to both versions of the Avatar and Morgan if she's married to the male one. Allowing Emmeryn more male support options would have required for her to get out of that jam in the game alive before Paralogue 20 and for her to be given her own future child. Should be glad she's got the option of the Male Avatar at all.
Yeaaaah, I know xD It's just that when I saw her I was like: "and why isn't she married to Frederick yet?" It makes sense that she does not get more supports (although I wish she had some with Gangrel. At least they added them in some DLC) but in my own little imagination I really liked that :)

I've seen more than my fair share of people thinking that Chrom would be pissed at the idea of Robin hooking up with Emmeryn. A man should be more worried about who his children are seeing.
This is one pairing Chrom would be supportive of despite all the "hater" comments it's drawn. The one who'd be just as shocked as Chrom would be Lissa. I'll quote a particular line out of my favorite fan fiction where she finds out cause Chrom let it slip while expressing concern for Emmeryn. Goes like this: "Why didn't you tell us?! I didn't know you were in love with my sister! After all that wheedling and teasing about your love life, why did you never say anything?" Said fan fiction's one I've mentioned in multiple comments and it's one where Robin and Emmeryn had fallen for each other during the course of the Plegian campaign.

All these people cracking jokes about how the Avatar is "banging" all these women make me sick. He's not going after all of them at the same time, dammit. Also, these are feeling that develop over time. It might not seem like it in game, but the entire campaign could take months, during which two people will fight side by side, covering each other's back, slowly developing feelings over time that blossom into beautiful, steadfast, unbreakable love. Throughout Awakening, I've noticed many of the characters have a particular archetype. Robin's(regardless of gender) is "mysterious character with a past", Tharja's a Yandere, Maribelle and Severa are Tsunderes. Say'ri is a Kuudere. If she has one, which character archetype would Emmeryn be? She's a kind soul that's against senseless bloodshed.
well, emmeryn does have special barrack convos with Chrom and Lissa. And I think Yen fay has them as well. The thing is, these characters appear right before the final boss. So of course the avatar will have the ability to speak with them, because that's the perks of being the tactician. However, because these are optional spotpass characters, the developers saw no reason too.
What happened to Emmeryn? Did she supposedly fall to her death just to be swapped with her edolas counterpart? Did she stay so long that she forgot about everything? Or did she go to the dragon world?

no, its Spotpass content basically, you turn spotpass on, and when your 3ds is closed, it downloads some things all the data for it is already in the game, the spotpass just unlocks it. same thing with the bonus teams from past FE games.
HARRY MILSON I doubt we'll ever know why Emmeryn couldn't regain her memory any other way. Not one of the female character's confessions shows them kissing Robin.
Emmeryn truly reminds me of my waifu, Linear Cannon. Especially with her selflessness and pacifistic nature. They're both also rather quiet. Yes, I know that it's for a different reason. Linear has selective mutism for an entire arch of her game because of severe anxiety and implied abuse and Emmeryn has severe brain damage from falling off of a cliff, to the point where she can barely speak coherently. But I still see it as a parallel in my mind. They both sacrificed themselves to protect the people they love- Emmeryn attempted suicide so that Chrom and Ylisse would have the Fire Emblem and be safe, while Linear gave herself up twice because she thought she was a burden to Mag. Plus, they're both mainly healers, but can participate in battle if needed.
SpotPass Paralogues. Emmeryn can be recruited from Paralogue 20, A Hard Miracle. She must survive as an NPC. Gangrel can be recruited in Paralogue 18, The Dead King's Lament, by talking to him three times with Chrom. Aversa joins if she survives in Paralogue 22, The Wellspring of Truth. Paralogue 22 is tough if your entire party is filled with powerful units. Limit the powerhouses and have most of the spots go to weak units.

When you get to the Endgame, you can access these maps, which will let you recruit, in order of the paralogues; Gangrel, Walhart, Emmeryn, Yen'fay, Aversa, and Priam. All of them have explanations on how they're recruitable characters. If you need help on these chapters, look them up on strategy wikis.
+Austin Kasmeier Because it's in those chapters that allow you to get her. I suggest using a Rescue staff (You can get one in the village to the left, if need be) to get her out of enemy range, then send units to kill the commander.
Austin Kasmeier Send a unit with high Mov. and defensive stats(Def.+Res.). And equip with a weapon w/1-2 range, so you can switch between 2 and 3 spaces from the boss, who has a Mire on him. The Mov. is to get as close as possible w/as little risk of enemies getting to Emm, and the Res. to take as little damage from mage units as possible, with Def. being for defense against other physically-armed units..
Chrom must be so confused...his best friend who has amnesia is in love with his dead-but-not-dead big sister who also has amnesia and their kids would technically be higher-ranked than him XD
