Marth in the Smash community: The legendary Hero-King and mascot of the franchise Marth in the Fire Emblem community: who? oh yeah that guy with no pants
@@aetherwarrior4640 i hate explaining jokes but: i was taking a jab at the roster of Fire Emblem Heroes in which, after an entire year we had 5 Lucinas, 5 Lyns and yet still only a single Marth
@@GBlockbreaker Why do you lie? We have 3 Marths. And the 5 Lyns and 5 Lucinas were't released within one year. Don't make the community look bad pointlessly.
Marth is the reason I'm so into FE. I started to play Melee when I was a younger kid, maybe 6-7 back in 08. I instantly fell in 'love' with marth and grew obsessed with his character. I'd play him all the time, even more so when brawl and SSB came out. When I turned 13, I had received enough money to buy fire emblem games. Obviously I got Awakening, but I also got Echoes. I'm in love with this game franchise and it's all thanks to my #1 hero king, Marth.
I first got into FE through spotting a copy of Fates: Conquest in my local GameStop's baragain bin and thinking it looked cool, and along with Awakening I've played all the main-line titles that came after it, and I had absolutely 0 context on who he was and was very confused when people talked about him in Awakening and when he showed up in Engage So thank you very much for this!
I agree! The only reason I was initially interested in him was because I saw him in Smash and was like, "oh, this guy looks the cutest." And then it all went downhill from there XD I began to main as him, then I decided to do some research and get Heroes... Long story short, Marth is Best Boi. He has won over this Summoner's heart! XD
@@caligon5921 Emulators still exist because they're legal, ROMs that they run are illegal. Considering that NOA has no licensing to FE6 as it was never localized, English fan translations of the game can not be taken down.
is marth dead cause on a site it says that he is is forced into exile in the island nation of Talys and home of his childhood friend, the princess Caeda?
He is the only FE character in Smash I truly know. I played Shadow Dragon as a kid. Hopefully I can find it and borrow my friends 3ds because my ds is messed up and I bought a switch instead of a 3ds.
It's *See-dah,* not *She-dah.* Marth and many others say *See-dah* in Fire Emblem Warriors, which as far as I'm concerned is the canon way to say her name. Now, with that said, let's not even start on Tharja and Camus...
the canonical way to pronounce it is see-dah, but i like to pronounce it sheeda because it sounds better imo also before her official translation that was her name and people probably stuck with that
Watch out buddy, we can't know the links between all the characters in the game. I have a hint of doubt when I speculate that Walhart is Alm's descendant.
Nate Shaw I’m assuming with the Great Grand daughter thing you’re referring to Lucina. She is Marth’s descendent and they are like 2,000 years apart. She is also Chrom’s daughter from the future.
I have to admit, as an avid Fire Emblem fan, this comment section cringe with how many people don't know jack s**t about FE. I don't mean to offend anyone, but that's what I'm getting out of this comment section.
Lmao I only became interested in fire emblem baecause of ultimate and I thought he was hot (along with the fact that I can play as him really good) only to realize he means hardly anything in the actual games T.T big sad
When did main protagonists hardly mean anything in the game. He's also a pretty big deal even in lore tbh. The Legend of the Hero-King makes it to other worlds and dimensions and is acknowledged even in games that don't take place in Archanea.
Issy YourBoo looks like a girl, has a girls name. So much so that it’s impossible for someone like me to believe it is a “he” not a “she” As a Zelda fan. I will forgive anyone for mistaking sheik as a boy. Boy looking hair, boy shaped body. But it’s much easier for people to switch their association of a characters gender around when they are masked. When I tell people sheik is Zelda. Everyone thinks “ohh that makes sense” and don’t think of it too differently ever again. When someone tells you Marth is a guy. You get confused. Never learn to associate it differently and go your whole life still thinking it is a girl because it’s difficult to believe otherwise unless you maybe play FE game
@@theob1455 Marth isn't really a girls name. I would say it's neutral but leaning more towards male. But literally it's a fact that he's a guy. He's a Fire Emblem OG. The only reason why some people think he's a girl is because of the time LUCINA, disguised herself as Marth. Just play any FE game or super smash bros and you'll just hear his Male voice and see that he's definitely a MALE
Issy YourBoo I don’t know if you saw my edited version of my last comment but check it out. I’ve never played a proper fire emblem game. I’ll let you keep your opinions to yourself, but Marth is definitely a girls name to me. You look up famous “Marths” on google and you get a load of women appearing. I don’t know if the developers wanted to confused people or what.
@@theob1455 huh, well that's interesting. You learn something new everyday lol. I learned that Marth is apparently a girls name and you learned this specific Marth is a guy
6:30 That's a blatant lie. The reason Intelligent System decided to bring Fire Emblem to the west, is because of how well it made it Advance Wars; Smash had nothing to do.
@@menph1096 So? It was for publicity and means nothing. People overestimate how helpful is a character appearing in smash for publicity. If adding a character in smash meant insta success, Metroid, F-Zero and Star Fox wouldn't bomb as hard as they do. And FE was definitely worldwide realized for Advance Wars. There's a interview with Kintaro Nishimura where he explicitly says so.
