My first Hector, the one that keeps dying :( was given to me randomly when I was pulling for someone else in the beginning of the game. The other 2 that I burnt for distant counter came from the first Hero Fest banner. I was still lucky -- that could have gone horribly wrong.

Oh, man... You should start a Go Fund Me page. You could just take a screenshot of those 3 Seliphs and put a black and white filter on it, and that would tug on all the heart strings.

I love seeing Hector in the arena even ones with Vantage.

Ah, if you are at the helm, I can't think of any hero that isn't close to a joke. About the only unit you have to give special consideration to are things like Reinhardt, Brave Bow users, and Celica. Otherwise, everything else is just fodder in the hands of the CPU.

She is underrated. I talk very favorably of her in my cheap armor emblem video.

Shaar Games I agree. She's a monster with the right skills. Having both high Def and Res makes her able to be a complete wall to any and all threats on the battlefield. And with access to Vengeful Fighter, she can destroy anything that attacks her with Ignis/Glacies. It's a little insane. My Sheena at +10 will have 43 Def and 41 Res, and that's before the three Ward Armor buffs she gets from the rest of my team. I could also, if I wanted to, make her my Summoner Support unit, but that's never happening. Summer Corrin is and always will be my Summoner Support because she's best girl.

Secret Asian Once the Grand Hero Battle has had enough revivals. As a result, Zephiel will be the weakest link for a long time, but you need a red and he's better than Draug for this purpose.

Secret Asian The strategy revolves around staying as a group for Ward Armor stacking and watching the enemy team either do nothing or merely tickle you, and subsequently breaking beneath your counterattack. Everyone has Swap so you can spam it to get the triangle advantage.

+Nemitri 4 swap armors make a wonderful fluid front wall or catepillar. Swap also works in tight spaces so it is always invokable. Full repositions Ave the advantage of quicker up-field movement and the ability to rapidly redeploy your armor - at the cost of needing space and a little more positioning. Having the utility of mixing the two, however, let's you practically pick and choose the best movement for each situation. Until you develop your units to the point where you multiple assist skills. Keeping everyone in a block isn't always viable with Reinhardt and blade tomes about.

Mixing Armor Emblem is a great idea, honestly. Just enough to make things interesting for you and a little more usable.

I find that the terrain has a LOT to do with how well armor emblem performs in the arena. The arena season we are in right now as of typing is very good for armor, but some of the seasons that have the original map setups? Blech. QR on Zephiel is a good substitute. I've had problems running that in PvE content, but in PvP that does make more sense.

This is true -- if you are running Ward Armor x4, which is pretty sweet, you can keep everyone in a box, or at least a line, and put the most needed unit out front using swap consistently. Having Swap and Ward Armor on all of your armored units is a nice kit to run, but I'd still suggest that you have a few with Reposition, because sometimes some maps require you to cover some distance, and reposition (or pivot) are a lot more valuable.

Poor Sheena! I mean, i don't blame you, but I still feel bad for the bench armor...

Patrick Waddingham It is sad, but she will be in use if I need a team for squad assault and used hector in the main party already. But still, black knight with built in DC (hopefully) would do amazing.

armor emblem, when done right, does feel OP. I will throw out there, don't forget about Ward Armor (and Goad Armor is OK,too, but rare). I find even having one helps shave off enough damage to feel better about the matchups, let alone running 3 or 4.

I will just say that planning ahead really helps when inheriting Goad Armour. If you inherit Spur Attack or Spur Speed beforehand, you can inherit Distant Counter *and* Goad Armour from the same Hector.

Pivot is great on units, like armor, that you expect to (or need to) take a hit. I've had to put armor in place and make an immediate attack plenty of times, though. Swap is wonderful. While it doesn't have the range Pivot/Repo have, how tight of a formation you can keep is wonderful.

I have my Hector and Black Knight all set. Now I "just" need two more Hectors to give Distant Counter to my Effie and Amelia. And maybe get another Amelia to have another Armor March. But as a F2P player, it's gonna take a veeeery long time.

Nice team comp! Many people run Armor Emblem w/ 4 Armor units, but subbing out one armor unit for someone else - like a healer - is usually a better strategy.

It depends. On Arena or some story maps I might run full armour, depending on my mood. But if I'm going through TT or other story maps I'll definitely want Sakura. She also has a Pain staff, which is REALLY great for free damage because her attack stat isn't the best.

Yes, Ward Armor is amazing. I'm a huge fan, but I didn't want to blatently say "This is the only C skill you need"

When he said, you don't want to have all the same assist skill, I thought, well of course not if the skill you went with is reposition. Swap on the other hand... My team is Swap x2, Pivot on Hector, and Ardent. Sheena protects her health far too well to not share the love.

I like smite for GHB and BHB maps, but I can't say I recommend it for PvP. Having one on your team is a nice thing to mix in though.

Joshua Erez I believe you get a four star at 6k. If you're willing, getting the black knight to 5 star is well worth your time. You can merge the two, I bekieve you get +1 HP and +1 Atk, or you can run two black knights.

Got 5 star black knight. My Hector is -atk so I got another Hector and he's -at :'(

I wish I had a sensible suggestion, but Distant Counter is about the only way to overcome that weakness. Combining that with Vantage or Wary Fighter is great, but even with Armor March and Reposition, sometimes you just need that Distant Counter -- and ESPECIALLY if you are missing Armor March and Reposition.

Patrick Waddingham I do have distant counter on Hector and Amelia. I have a spare Hector for Effie, but it depends on if Black Knight has built in DC if I will feed it to her (all free rolls btw). I just wanted to know if Wary Fighter/Vantage + DC can over come their ranged weaknesses in PvE.

Black Corona you are a day early for my Amelia build video :P ;) Amelia is an OK candidate for WoM. WoM is great on a unit that can turn the tide of a duel. Dancers help, Hector helps, Amelia isn't guarenteed to help. If you build her up with a bruser of a build, like Brave Axe+, Ignis, and Swift Sparrow (guess what I'm doing) you can go WoM because she has the bulk to take most any punishment and the power to kill most anything. Stock Amelia doesn't produced wonderful results with WoM.

IF she's +SPD, Amelia does desperation very well. Darting Blow helps, but you really need +SPD to make it worth while. Otherwise, that'll rock.

Eh, not as much. -DEF bane on an armor unit sucks, but it doesn't render them useless. Unless they are +RES, then that is a terrible trade. :D If they are +HP, it's sorta an even trade for the first hit. In TT you may see them wear out sooner, but in PvP you might not notice. -ATK really hurts someone like Effie who is good w/ Brave Lance, though, so be mindful of that.

Effie is already the squishiest armored unit, but comes with wary fighter by default which saves her. I almost always have someone else taking the hit in full armored teams while effie provides the damage. Though that's less of a factor now that I just made mine +10. So while -d isn't great, it affects her less than any of the others imo.

Great roster to choose from! There are a few things to consider, so I'll point out a few options and say what assumptions I have w/ the team comps. First, I will say whether your are F2P or P2W, Sheena and Gwen have a lot going for them. The both can use any of the generic armor builds very well, they both score high in arena, and getting merges for them is comparatively easy - so they are good armor units to use in pretty much any game mode. 1) To start, I'll say that if you just care about power right now, I'd probably go with: Brave Ephraim Hector Caineghis Grwendolyn You will have to rely on Ephraim and Caineghis to chew through green armor, but that isn't a big deal. Brave Ephraim is a great unit. Between his weapon and his given B skill, special fighter, he can handle threats that other armor units can't. Sheena can do 1/2 of that very well if you burn your Brave Eph to give her Special Fighter, though. Giving Sheena Distant Counter is also another powerful option. (Really, all armor units like Distant Counter -- there *almost* isn't anything better for an A slot). If you give her both, it's not the absolute best combo though, so be wary of that. If you refine Hector's axe, you will get a lot more milage out of him. 2) If you are building armor for arena, I'd go: Sheena Gwen Zephiel (from grails) or Black Knight (from grails) *your 4th slot is an arena bonus unit* You can use Draug in the meantime, but while he is going to potentially be easier to merge Draug falls short of arena scoring and/or combat potential of both of the grail units, so if you want a serious arena armor cheerleader squad I'd pick one of those two. For arena, armor units tend to be movable walls and arena point batteries, so they won't be exciting to use in other content unless you need that movable wall to block off some attacks in a grand hero battle.

Will decide between Zephiel and BK.. I still have some 150 grails for one of them and i will see who replaces sheena.

I'd stick w/ Ward Armor, although if you are packing a lot of brave weaponry, that might change things. A common pattern w/ armor emblem is to move them in a block. If you even had hone on just the unit behind your front line, that unit would benefit from +6 atk/spd (which may prevent some dmg!) but a theoretical -4 def/res. Eventually you are going to advance that frontline unit and not the backline unit because of range attacks. So you are now down 6 atk/spd AND 4 def/res. Now, if rumors of Avis (armored mage) coming as a GHB unit towards the end of October are true? Well, I'd put hone on one or two armors in preparation for that fun :D

They both perform rather differently. Zephiel isn't good w/o being 5* so that might make your choice easier in the short term. If you don't have any other red on your team running both of them isn't a bad option. If I had to pick one fresh, I'd go with Arden - he has a lot more killing range than Zephiel does. With some SI, while he won't ever catch Arden, Zephiel will add a lot to an armor emblem team. So if you are looking at Zeph and think he's cool, he's worth investing in.

Pretty darn close. Minerva is more likely to deal damage on her turn, and Beruka is more likely to stick around and take more punishment. The Grand Hero Battle Michalis is also a good flying wall.

3* Beruka is about equal to 4* Michalis, defense wise. If you merge your Berukas (Beruki maybe? kidding) though, she'll be roughly the equivalent of a 5* unit -- keep in mind she still has a non-5* weapon at the moment though. Michalis sits between Minerva and Beruka. For PvP, many ppl prever the more aggressive units, so Minerva > Michalis > Beruka, but there are plenty (not well labeled) videos and gifs of Michalis and Beruka tearing it up whie taking a huge hit -- even from S tier units like Ryoma.

Patrick Waddingham Would it be more wise to use 40,000 feathers to upgrade Beruka to equal 5*+2? Or just stay cheap, and inherit a 5* weapon or exclusive? Thanks for the info!

If you honestly have 12ish Beruka's, you could make a 4*+7 Beruka for 14k feathers - 2k for each 4* Beruka you have sitting around. That would have only 1HP less than 5* +2. 4*+10 has a few more points over 5*+2. I'd then promote someone to 5* and pass down a weapon to Beruka. Wish a Slaying Axe was a thing... But Silver Axe+ and Brave Axe+ seem to give her some bite -- just remember w/ BA+ you are dropping your speed to a pitiful level, and if you really want to be a flying wall you may want to stay away from it. Or stick w/ a Killing Weapon and run Ignis/Bonfire. You'll have a def of 38 either way.

I wouldn't say a lot more, but when I see her on a defensive team w/ armor -- and the opponent remembered to put her next to the other armor -- it does change how you handle things.Pulling those units apart becomes very important. That's all PvP talk, of course. In PvE, I feel like Amelia's Armor March is much more like moving a pawn 2 spaces for the first move in chess -- it just accelerates past the boring part of the match.

I run Flier Emblem w/o Hinoka. There are definately some wonderful tricks to do for Flier Emblem that makes everything better, so i'll start to work on that video!

That's a good team! All of them are strongest in their class -- Zephiel being more meaty than Black Knight. Since you don't have an Amelia, you can run 4 Ward Armors (bye bye, Draug) on them and it'll help mitigate the slowness. A newer meta is coming about that uses Armor March, Hone Armor, and either 2x Panic Ploy or Panic Ploy and Ward Armor, but that is definitely an investment.
