Amazing scene that depending on context is emotional is so many ways. The first time I saw Rhea fall it was so triumphant to watch the fall of an insane tyrant, but now seeing a broken woman who wished so dearly to see her mother try and fail to flee is heartbreaking. Her rule was terrible for Fodlan and almost entirely self serving, but it's just as saddening as it was necessary. Unknown to Edelgard, Rhea's motivations were some of the most human in the series. And to see Edelgard overcoming her issues of distrust and over-self reliance, stating her desire for humanity to reach out to each other before dropping her untouchable Emperor act to show the terrified girl who smiles and cries over her crush that she paints ridiculous portraits of is in stark contrast to the defiant fanatic she becomes in other routes. Crimson Flower may have just got the one Cinematic, but damn did they nail it in every way possible.
Rhea and Edelgard are really just products of some very very unfortunate circumstances that nobody should have to go through. It’s no wonder that their views of the world are so warped.
man, playing this fight, i had my whole team, beat down Rhea's shields and then, on her last final bar of health, I had Edelgard, with a full charged Aymr, and just, so many, Raging Storms.
Hahahaha, holy shit I did that too. I was amused when I learned in the final battle I could use an art over and over and over again. Good times, that moment when you realize Edie can solo body the Immaculate One.
Best ending(I mean only one that seems to clean up all the problems in Fodlan, even if Those Who Slither In The Dark are destroyed in epilogue text...) and awesome music!
Agreed. Though I would absolutely love it if they released some story DLC for this path to tie up the those who slither plot thread. I want to give Edelgard the chance to kill her shitty uncle.
@@AZ240992 I agree that it feels kinda odd that TWSITD are dealt with only through epilogue text, despite how short the route is. I assume that either developers ran out of time, or there's some kind of story DLC planned that will expand this(And possibly other routes... like seriously, Blue Lions leaves the world in probably worst state as it is now, with Rhea alive just stepping down for now, crest system and nobility just fine and dandy for the most part, TWSITD still hiding and Dimitri having no interest in pursuing them further... this doesn't bode well long-term for Fodlan at all XD).
@@Razor7557 Yeah, they really are the big elephant in the room. Dimitri ignoring TWSITD really baffled me as in her S-support, Edelgard declares that crushing them is pretty much the first thing she's going to do next. After his paralogue, Hubert says that's the first thing House Vestra are going to do after the war. You'd really think that the faction most closely aligned to the Church would be the ones most interested in getting rid of the Church's most hated enemy.
@@AZ240992 Not to mention wouldn't Dimitri also have a personal bone to pick with Edelgard's uncle as well after what he did? He was responsible for the tragedy at Duscar if I recall correctly, which was the beginning of Dimitri's suffering. Her uncle is of course also affiliated with those who slither, so why the hell would Dimitri of all people ignore them?
Salem TheDireShipper She’s fine. You can still S-support her in this ending. She proclaims that the crest stone is just a stone and that she’s bound to Byleth’s soul.
@@hue_tjark It's never explicitly stated, but it's made pretty obvious during her conversations with Byleth in other routes. She says she would have said or done anything if she thought it would bring Byleth to her side, in Azure moon Byleth is the one person that Edelgard hesitates to fight against even after turning herself into a monster and in both Verdant wind and Silver Snow, she dies saying that the one thing she wanted most was to be able to walk with Byleth along the same path. The game lays it on pretty thick with how she feels. Then of course there's Crimson flower where she literally draws pictures of Byleth in her room whenever she has free time. It's made REALLY obvious that she has a massive crush on Byleth. The only question is whether or not the player will have Byleth return her feelings.
@@hue_tjark Its mostly because they both have the Crest of Flames/Fire Emblem which amplified their feelings for one another same way Catherine had a feeling of sisterly familiarity towards Lysithea due to both having the same crest.
Okay spoilers. Byleth's hair and eyes were originally blue-ish/purple-ish. They turned green when he fused with Sothis. After he and Edelgard killed the Immaculate One Byleth no longer had Sothis' power, so his eyes and hair went back to their blue/purple hue. Get it now?
The fusion with sothis was made seen visually in the awakening scene, now with the crest stone that visual influence is gone, probably he can't weild the sword of the creator anymore and use the time pulse no more, but his soul is still merged with sothis, that's why you can still s support her even in CF after this. Aka he's like a normal human now but still when he dies sothis dies for good
@@pakiaki9775 Starting a 5 and a half year war because conquest and I hate the church (likely more than a village population not to mention some of them were her own people and the fact some villagers may have gotten away.) < burning a village? (500 - 2500 pop.)
At least he should still have his crest which is already considered to be overpowered (in universe) compared to most other crests. It’s also nice thematically that in this ending, where the rule of gods is rejected, that Byleth becomes truly human.
@@procrazyman6853 The Crest Stone (Sothis' heart) disappeared. The crest itself still likely flows through his blood as is the case with every other crest bearing character.
I'm so mad that the writers decided that Rhea's goals should be COMPLETELY JUSTIFED! What kind of STUPID MORON thought it would be a good idea to have Rhea's actions she was taking be not to ressurect Sothis, but to keep humanity from getting worse? Now I feel HORRIBLE about my choice to side with Edelgard! Edelgard is my favorite character in the game, but now I literally feel like my only reason for siding with her is because she's a waifu! And that Rhea really was doing everything in her power, putting all of her blood, sweat and tears into trying to save Fodlan, and we stab her in the back, and make a malicious grin at her while doing this! All for the sake of having sex with some MISGUIDED emperor! WHY DID THEY HAVE TO MAKE RHEA HAVE COMPLETELY JUSTIFIABLE REASONS TO DO THIS? I'm literally almost brought to TEARS on how frustrating this is! And I'm someone who never cries anymore! So this is a horrible sign! Someone PLEASE get me a therapist who knows a lot about this game, because I feel like my existence means nothing now!
Let's say it clearly, Sothis was just some kind of alien that came on a peacefull country, gave powers to humans and then wonder why they makes war with it. When Edelgard killed Rhea, Sothis has gone forever, her powers she gived to humans as well. And that's probably the best thing that could happen to fodlan, they will return into an endless peace and live freely without any gods.
@@stoopidbug24 Sothis is not an alien! She really was the goddess of Fodlan! And Sothis did not actually disappear. She's still a marriageable option even in CF.
@@meta527II Humans think she's a godess because she comes from the sky, but she really was a godess she would have created the world and have been here since the beggining.
This comment section is filled with Edelgard apologists jfc. I like Edelgard’s beliefs, but starting a war was unnecessary. So many people are treating her as some hero for starting a WAR which makes no sense. Again I like her ideals, but morally she is wrong and has her flaws like Claude and Dimitri. Hopefully this isn’t just me but I feel like many comments are from people who have just played the BE and no other routes, saying stuff like Rhea is a tyrant etc. The BE route paints her in that light yes, but play the other routes before you make those claims.
